i miss larry at the games. he was so approachable and willing to discuss any aspect of basketball and the billikens. my memories of his billiken year are fabulous. glad i got to go on that short ride.

i no longer will count on any players coming back. this year i bet more than half of college basketball had majority of their rosters turned over. imo retention might now be more important than initial recruiting. that said, i dont get brockhoff getting most of the secondary big minutes. i was told pikaar has the most upside of all our freshmen. if that's true why is he just primarily the late in game guard the out of bounds guy? would seem he would be getting some of that brockhoff time? the fact he doesnt leads me to believe he isnt what they expected.

Worst reffed game of the year. That said, the game was lost with the worst game of Robbie Avila's life.

that's nothing to brag about. we all knew ford was a horrible floor coach the day he was signed to become the Billikens head coach. he was only accepted because he was a pretty good recruiter. but when college free agency hit and the portal became the new norm and the need for money to pay the players he became pretty worthless (see last season results).

I totally agree with this. A team that plays ultra aggressively eventually it becomes accepted to some degree by the refs. Tuesday night I yelled at the ref after a ticky tac foul called on us that at that time we had twice the number of fouls even though VCU was the far more aggressive defense.

in hindsight, the brawl effectively ended the game. the billikens stayed in their huddle focused and pretty much ignored the fight. vcu stood in a line watching the fight. the head coach had phillip in a bear hug to keep him out of the stands, my guess is it was a distraction that completely blew the focus of VCU and likely cost them the opportunity to actually come back.
