hahahaha i went to look at the stats to make an editorial comment about his selfishness and be able to back up my claims. but i was hit in the face with stats i've never seen from a billiken guard per shooting percentages. i thought, "hell he is doing this at such a high level, how can we argue with it?" i miss him getting the ball on the left wing with the shot clock running down and he takes off across the lane and scores either by flat out beating his man and going to the basket or a sudden stop and soft fadeaway. he is a scorer. and he defines the old spoon to highmark legendary quote, "if you arent going to play much defense, make sure you outscore your man".

ford hasnt had a credible big man coach his entire tenure here at slu. that's his fault. and makes no sense imo. he was a guard when he played one would think he would surround himself with coaches that knew the other positions at least a couple of them.

imo reaching in files is either lazy or lack of athleticism to use their quickness to stay in front of a player. most times imo it is lazy.

The bigger problem with protecting the lane is our help defense and rebounding fundamentals are so so bad. Regardless of size there really is no excuse for gimmees and put backs we give up imo.

If we are talking scoring not just three pointers, I'll take Parker. Prior to the injury he was shooting 50% from the field for the season. As much as it appeared he was selfish, he was doing it. He is a scoring machine and the ONLY player on this roster that create his own opportunity with ease. Parker vs Jimerson on 3's isn't even close. Of course I take Jimerson for that shot. I'm undecided on Jimerson vs claggett as a three point scorer. That's a tough pick. I would take Jimerson ahead of highmark which is still high praise.

I'd fired crews the second time on an inbounds play under the basket we just hoisted it to the other free throw line, or the second time he didn't have players on the lane to rebound free throws. He was worthless basically stealing money aka his salary imo.

when i could watch him up close in myrtle beach, i thought curcic reminded me of Drejaj from back in the day. i too like him a lot and he deserves time. i dont think he is a point guard but i like him on the wings.

that is hallowed ground. imo ONLY ekker can make that claim. but as coaching on the floor, if i had to pick my three worst game coaches, it would be ekker, crews and ford in that order.

be careful, cheerleaders are off limits in every way for billikens. grrrrrrrrrr i'll never forgive slu for situation.

I watch college basketball because of still a naive belief it's about the name on the front of the jersey not the back. Sure that is naive on my part but this sounds like the G league to me. Then add the portal to the mix. Every team will almost reshuffle their rosters every year. If I am going to watch pro basketball with no loyalty from the players I might as well watch the NBA instead of a g league team. I'm fast losing my longtime want and love for college basketball. What a bunch of b.s.

As much as I detested rickma the person my respect for his savant like basketball was off the charts. If the player has the right attitude rickma would teach them.

You aren't watching the game. If you don't block out more times than not regardless how talk you are you won't get the rebound. There's a reason goodwin got more rebounds than opponents 6 inches taller than him. He did the needed fundamentals and outworkex his opponent. It had very little to do with height. This team is fundamentally unsound.

i have been focusing on our rebounding the last few games. i particularly noticed saturday on TV that NOBODY has a fundamental sense of rebounding. they let players walk right in for second chances, my grandson's 5th grade team has a better sense of blocking out and holding the block until they know where the ball is going there is no effort for our players to get an offensive rebound. it is pitiful. it is the worst example of rebounding i have ever seen at any level. it is the biggest downfall of the team imo. just barely beating no pressure defense and no agressive get down the floor offense. besides that i cant see why we arent winnng.

i agree IF we have the bank. in fact a floor coach is exactly the path i would take now. for big time. get the players but have someone that knows what to do with them. the problem is there arent a lot of rickma's around anymore because the last 40 years has been about recruiting now it's about the money if we want to win the national championship. if we dont want to play in the free agent market we might as well be D2 or D3

the only thing i ever said to defend ford, was prior to NiL i felt he was the best recruiter the billikens ever had. from the day he was hired i said he was a terrible floor and practice coach and didnt develop players, but with his recruiting skills he would always give us a good roster to have a chance. go back to his hiring date forward, you will see i have always said that. there have been plenty of bad coaches that have succeeded simply because they could put great rosters at every game. the best examples are probably boeheim and calipari they both won national titles. then this NiL came along and changed the recruiting world. imo it made him completely worthless and considering this current roster, i totally agree he now has to go. the dumb azz could have went out and hired a couple of premium x's and o's assistant coaches, instead he brought in rickma's top foreign player recruiting coach and top recruiting coach from duquesne. while i have no doubt they can sell ice cubes to eskimoes. it still doesnt solve the problem that every recruit whether a high school kid or a college player looking to transfer now asks "how much NiL money can i get." i.e we will continue to waste valuable time recruiting players that basically know they can get the money elsewhere.the problem is to get rid of him AND hire a credible replacement might be too much for now and unless the boosters or the use of the unrestricted endowment money can step forward, we cant do both. i dont think we want to fire ford and the staff and then hire me or taj to be the coach. the money has to be there. i have never seen our BoT think outside the box and offer to build the Athletic dept with this fantastic endowment money that the school has and pretty much never uses. i guess the bragging rights that come with that is too important. doesnt matter that every school that has used outside the box thinking like that, has prospered and not only accomplished leaps and bounds in their athletic department, they have also exploded their applications and taken the school itself to new levels. do the math. just for discussion, let's say that it is determined that we need to use immediately $100,000,000 to fire any and all the weak slu coaches and staff and replace all with the best for all of available plus build up the remaining needed athletic facitiies to give us an entire athletics staff that competes with coaches and facilities across america. now divide that by the balance of the unrestricted funds in the endowment fund. what's that percentage? not overwhelming is it? quit depending on 3 0r 4 of the big whales to build our basketball team. look at the big picture and to to the real pile of money immediately to put us at the top. imo it would pay off hugely. besides the market crash is coming. we might as well spend some of the money before it disappears before we can even use it.

Correct. I know her brother very well. Ekker apparently has been a fantastic husband That said ekker and crews are the two worst. Look at the entire body of work. Not just this shaping up to be a horrible season.

actually my view is he tries to get the right position but gets pushed around and ends up wrong then. again, he needs strength, endurance and exceleration
