  1. are in section 118, row k, middle of the row. i think it is 9-12 seats.
  2. sluwx said, "I've been taught that your job performance is measured by the effectiveness of your successors." if you ever have management aspirations, those are great words to live by. surround yourself with people that can do your job and they will carry you to the top. if they show you the door instead, that would not be the place to work anyway. good luck!
  3. good luck sluwx in your career! does this mean the sax section will be lacking next year?
  4. .....................Roy is der am bitteresten Mensch i am having that put on my business cards.
  5. 44 young. married with 2 children. grew up a sports fanatic and played basketball and softball in pretty competitive leagues until just a few years ago. graduated from slu in 82 with a ba in communications. (i am supposed to be writing radio and tv ads. strangely except for my senior internship at wibv, never did any radio and tv work.) been a mortgage broker/banker for 10 years. have been rabidly following the billikens since my college days (ekkertime!) a billiken club member since the douglas/gray era. i am hoping my son goes on to slu to play baseball and my daughter ends up there playing softball.
  6. steve i dont remember fighting with lewba. i never saw lewba as credible in the least thus didnt waste much energy there.
  7. i also consider bernie and me buds these days. we talked last spring at the savvis for awhile and my posts with him at thepressbox have been pretty civil as of late. so take him off my bitter list. also, i think it is commendable that i do shop at walmart considering the circumstances.
  8. you forgot football, soccer, rap music and baggy pants. see that isnt really much of a list. heck, you all dont even know about my hatred of small house dogs and chick flick crying movies. btw david, you have convinced me to give sportsplus another chance. i truly havent given it a chance since malcom and frank have taken it over. and you are right, i could always use the time that tuna is on to go brush my teeth or put a load of laundry in the dryer or something.
  9. well that is what the best marquette fans think. that is all i have to go on. my guess is that an appearance in milwaukee would be pretty darn uncomfortable and i cant tell you how disappointed my family is that we will probably have to cross cheeseland off our future vacation list. it is a good thing anita and i had our trip to milwaukee to see claggett and h a few years back before i was labeled bad for the city of milwaukee.
  10. now i am a bitter, insensitive, weirdo? ;-)
  11. i've decided to stay out of this discussion simply because i have already been branded as "a bitter man" by thicks, billiken rich and of course "the bradley center" courtside. i do not need to add racially insensitive to my profile as well. ;-)
  12. i miss the "we owe it to them" quote though.
  13. rich, glad to see you didnt lose thicks "bitter man" quote. :-)
  14. yes monroe was extremely athletic. could run and jump. but he never really mastered that dribbling or creating his own shot off the dribble did he? i would question if he would even get a shot if fisher guarded him. it would take a series of complicated picks to get him that alley oop look he did so well, not sure grawer would draw that one up.
  15. i didnt say he was a better player i said he would shut down douglas. my post was in thinking a fantasy game of the late 80's billiken team vs the current roster. if josh can shut down wade, douglas would be a piece of cake.
  16. aj, yesterdays washington post had an article on stackhouse that contained this sentence: "Stackhouse is penciled in to start alongside Arenas in the back court, but the uncertainty of Jeffries' recovery from right knee surgery and the desire to get a long look at a bulked-up Larry Hughes at shooting guard could relegate Stackhouse to small forward, where he played most of last season."
  17. i will be shocked if tommie doesnt make the gpa requirements to be a partial qualifier. the act test will be the hill to climb. if only we had that act test taker like spumac uses in detroit occasionally.
  18. thicks wrote, "Bonner insists that the current Bills couldn't hang with the guys he played with 15 years ago." i have been thinking about this statement. other than bonner and possibly gray, i think the current billikens are better than the rest of the roster. fisher would shut down monroe douglas. drejaj would have made newberry nuts. sloan is a better all around player than jeff luechtifeld. i agree the current roster has no one to match up with bonner. and gray might present a problem as well with his inside strength coupled with his ability to step out and hit the three as well. but overall, i think the rest of our roster is better than that late 80's version of the billikens.
  19. unless i hear in advance that there is an interview going to be on sportsplus that i want to see, i.e. soderberg or maybe whitey herzog, i too watch channel 4 now. and it is simply because of tuna. once frank assures us that tuna will never be back, i might consider giving it another chance, but i am pretty happy with savard as well now.

  21. well, i do not buy the post. but i do visit stltoday.com.
  22. high five everyone. go read this: http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...t+belong+in+MVC
  23. unless the ducey kid decides to play, althoff is going to be weaker on the inside than the others. guard wise, i would put althoff up against both east side and west though. besides lisch, the three kids from e st louis, harrington, nance and gray are all rockets that play their guts out. harrington is close to being a PLAYER. althoff has some inside size, but kloess and hornerkamp are both thin, and the roth and gore kids are just young. the freshman from lovejoy, felton, might end up playing by years end.
  24. my understanding of young mr horton is that he almost has to be maimed to steal the ball from him, thus, let's hope that tommie keeps his hands to himself so as not to get in foul trouble that day. we want to see him play not sit! of course though, the refs tend to swallow the whistle at the shootout to help keep the event on time. that is disappointing that they rarely play man-to-man. as athletic as the team is, it would seem a man-to-man would dominate most of the area teams. now that you say it though, they didnt play man at the sportsplex this summer when i watched them play. what is the word on darian luster? is he fitting in? is he getting any college calls? i cant wait for the matchups with belleville west. they are without a doubt the two deepest high school lineups in the st louis area this year. too bad one of them wont be at the state tourney this year. we finally get some top notch teams and it is at the same time!
  25. even bernie! coach brad is winning over everyone.
