The point is that the nations elite teams and players were there and Gameface advanced out of pool play, then thru the field of 64 to the Elite 8. I think the local team that did not fair well was the midwest storm.. went 0-4 ?? I'm sure they will be wanting to change that in KC this weekend. They should be a hungry bunch. They may have lost their first game in the bracket.. but they played 3/4 games before that. I just wasn't sure of their record.. and know that Gateway 17's did not go 0-4. Usually pool play determines what bracket you get into too..winners bracket (championship) or a consolation braket of some sort. Cg Gateway 16's went 2-1 in pool play. Won 1 and lost one in bracket play. I'm going to KC and will get a look at a lot of the local AAU teams. and some of the local teams in KC Mo too. stlsfinest Posted July 29, 2006 Share Posted July 29, 2006 The Eagles 17U went 0-3 in pool play @ the AAU Supershowcase. I never received word on their bracket play. Gateway 17U went 1-2 in pool play @ the Super 64. They defeated the Midwest Storm, but fell to the Indiana Elite and Michigan Mustangs. They were then knocked out in the 1st Round of the playoffs. Gameface 17U went 3-0 in pool play @ The Main Event. They went 6-1 overall. They won their pool games by an average of 35 points. I'm still trying to find out if Gameface added any local players outside of Vashon. I was told that Drew Hanlen was playing with them.
