I am not sure how if SLU's interest predates their other project signings. How's the engineering programs at SLU?---

Connecticut Widebody Getting Attention

By: Jay Gomes

Date: August 2nd, 2003

6-11 Jeff Salovski from Bristol Central High School in Bristol Connecticut was selected as an All Star at Eastern Invitational Camp for the second year in a row. The post prospect with the big frame had 10 points in the Top 20 game this past week.

Salovski told NJ Hoops that he was hearing from UMass, Central Connecticut State, Sacred Heart, Vermont, St. Louis, Princeton, Columbia and Colgate. He has visited UMass and Central Connecticut unofficially.

Salovski is looking for a school: "That's not too far away. With a good basketball program. I would like an engineering major. I'll probably decide during the season or later."

Also from http://www.gazettenet.com/umhoop/07122003/7486.htm :

"Jeff Salovski is even bigger than Clifford. The 6-foot-11, 300-pound Briston, Conn. native is among the bigger players in the class of 2004. But despite being nicknamed "Big Deli," Salovski reportedly moves well for his size and has a reasonably advanced offensive game."

Here's a scouting report from Hoopville.net.

"One player who may be a sleeper from this class (2004) is Jeff Salovski (6'10" C, Bristol (CT) Central HS). He has a wide body and isn't overly mobile, but he looked adept at finishing when he got the ball in close, showed good hands and a nice passing ability when facing the basket in the high post. He didn't look like a big enforcer or as much of a presence on the glass as he could be, which might get better if he can drop a little weight and improve his mobility. He could get some Division I looks."

Salovski was also first-team CHCSA all-state and Hartford Courant all-state:

i would think the "close" thing knocks us out of the running for this guy. one thing is for sure, coach brad is looking for size. if this trend continues, we need to start a football team. we are accumulating the offensive line.
