VTIME
It looks like Greg Oden, the best player in the HS class of 2006, has made plans to play basketball at Ohio State along with his buddy, Mike Conley (4 star, #7 rated point guard). Ohio State has already had a commitment from Daequan Cook, a five star recruit who's rated the 2nd best shooting guard in the nation. What's with Ohio State landing such high profile recruits? They'll still be on probation next year...

billfan4life
The reason why Ohio State is getting these top recruits can be credited to the head coach Thad Matta. I remember him when he coached for Xavier and they made it to the elite eight. He made a name for himself then and was able to recruit some big recruit to come to xavier. I don't know why but Thad has always been a great recuiter and now his skills are showing off at Ohio State

Box and Won
It didn't hurt that Matta was able to join a program that already had David West, Romain Sato, Lionel Chalmers, etc. He did bring in some good players that struggled a bit last year. I'm sure they'll be a lot tougher this year.
