STLfan
Anyone else think Kansas might be a little overrated? Shouldn't the number one team in the country beat any D2 opponet by more than 9pts. Here is the KU paper's story. http://www.kusports.com/news/mens_basketball/story/112111
Quality Is Job 1
They shouldn't even rank the teams until at least seven or eight real games have been played. In fact, don't even pay attention to the rankings until about halfway through the conference season.
SLUWX
Washburn is a really good team. In fact, of all D2 teams, Washburn is ranked #5. Bob Chipman is a legendary coach who has some really good talent. Watch out for them in D2 this year. I watched the game last night, and it was actually a nice win for KU. The basket at KU's end just had a lid on it - nothing was going in for the 'Hawks. The fact that they could find a way to win was impressive. I really like playing small, local teams in the pre-season. That game last night certainly didn't feel like a pre-season game. Much more fun than Athletes in Action and the Corporate All-Stars. Billiken Rich
I agree. Playin the DII teams was a great idea. Win or lose it's a game, unlike pounding on a goofball allstar team.
Basketbill
I actually enjoyed the two exhibition games.....rather than just wanting to see what the players looked like, I actually stayed for the whole game.
