The Big 12 doesn't produce as many top teams consistently as the ACC, but I think it is actually probably the deepest basketball conference when you when you account for the fact that it only has ten members. The Big 12 had 8 of their 10 teams inside Pomeroy's top 50 last season. I agree that the ACC is consistently the best basketball conference but the Big 12 and even the Big 10 consistently have more than half their teams inside Pomeroy's top 50.
