Is it just me or was that last dunk completely crass

On most of the message boards I frequent, this would be considered bad form or trolling. Why bother killing a tread if the topic goes on in another?

I'm just letting people know the option is there. It's written into the program. As for why: well, sometimes threads get closed because it degenerates but early on there are good points that people want to address. Posters already tend to start a new topic to address that; I'm just saying that you can quote the poster when starting that new topic.

Of course new threads to resume subjects for which an original thread was closed would be deleted.
