satrap
AT has been gone since the day Majerus took the job. Talk about being on the outside looking in, the guy got screwed all season. He was a dead man walking and knew it. He was kept around to keep one particular player from leaving, it worked. It sucks, he's a great guy and didn't deserve the crap he had to put up with last season.Sheesh. I yield to no one in my titanic dislike for RM, but AT was treated fine, no matter what. How many assistants are kept on from previous regimes anyway?
dewey33
Nobody ever left school during the Brad years. Signed, Darren Clarke, Ian Mooney, Jason Edwin, Obi Ikeakor, John Seyfort and Horace Dixon Lets REALLY look at this list: Ian Mooney, from Austin TX (nonscholarship) got a chance to walk-on at Texas (hard choice) Jason Edwin, flunked out on Romar's watch Randy Pulley, flunked out on Romar's watch John Seyfert, checked out by the end of his freshman year under Romar Floyd McClain, career ended from injuries that go back to high school Nick Kern, would have not gotten into ANY school in the country, flunked out of JUCO Ryan Hollins, Romar was the only one who could have got him here when he was under the radar (we slam Western Illinois for not releasing Harrelson, we did the right thing by Hollins) Darren Clarke, Obi Ikeakor, Horace Dixon....did not fit at SLU and never panned out If you get on campus anytime soon.....take a walk through West Pine.....Sodie may not have been the best recruiter, but with the facility he had at SLU, he was expected to go into battle with a bow and arrow when the rest of the guys had shotguns. davidnark
If you get on campus anytime soon.....take a walk through West Pine.....Sodie may not have been the best recruiter, but with the facility he had at SLU, he was expected to go into battle with a bow and arrow when the rest of the guys had shotguns. It wasn't about facilities. Even with West Pine, Grawer and Spoon got solid talent to come to SLU. It was about the poor recruiting decisions and talent evaluation Brad repeatedly made with local and regional 3-star recruits that wanted to come to SLU. It was decisions such as holding scholarships or offering them to high-risk players from far away instead of offering bread-and-butter guys like Shaw, Stemler, Ahearn, Harrellson, and other future MVC stars early in the process when they were wanting to come to SLU. I am not one who likes to continually revisit Soderberg's flaws, but the fuzzy memories of Sodie's loyalists is worthy of correction.
