Seriously, the last week has been painstakingly brutal for everyone associated with Saint Louis University and our basketball program. Everyone is excited to have Rick Majerus on campus and talking with players, etc., but what is the holdup? Why has a deal not been made? This rests squarely on the shoulders of Fr. Lawrence Biondi. Get it done, get our team moving in the right direction and get Billiken fans back to the games.

RM has not as of yet talked to the players. If he is hired, the players will no have talked to him first!

I am not sure the players are the ones to be hiring the coach so when they talk to the new coach is not that important. My guess is they were told that they would get a chance to meet the coach before he is made public and some are interpretting that as the players will meet with the candidate before he is hired.

Any coach who gets hired, meets with the players first. The players don't pick the coach, but they get a meet and greet before a new coach is introduced publicly.

Think about. Fr. Biondi announces XYZ as the new Head Coach. Some reporter with a camera sees a SLU player walking across the campus and says "What do you think about XYZ as your new Head Coach?" The SLU player then says "What??" "Really??" and then give a deer-in-the-headlights look on camera. Nice...
