bonwich
Why does the "countdown" on the Arena site infer that the first tip-off there will occur against Louisville at 11 p.m. on April 16, 2008?
jimbofive
as our brothers south of the border would say - "Muy interesante... BONWICH." Surprising as SLU seems to be very on top of the rest of the promotion effort.
Box and Won
Sounds better than Savannah State, right! And I guess "tip off" just means "opening" since there won't actually be a tip off at The Chaif until October 08.

SShoe
Maybe they'll show the Louisville game from four years ago on the jumbotron in the new stadium that night.
jimbofive
that would be amazing. i wonder what they'll line up for the summer before the season...
mystery_man
That is the date of next year's graduation which has been the projected opening event since construction began. The Louisville part of the scoreboard has not been changed from the 1st rendition of the website which included a video of our upset of then #2 Louisville in 2003. Not sure why it says 11 P.M. rather than A.M. May be a typo.
bonwich
Unless semesters have radically shortened since my day, that ain't graduation day.
mystery_man
Good point. I read April but somehow computed May in my brain (this year's ceremony is May 19th). That is weird then. I have no clue.
