FYI, former Billiken Mia Nicastro was named to the All-OVC First Team for her play at Western Illinois. She averaged 14.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 46% FG%, and got 47 steals. Former Billiken Ashleigh Connor scored at the buzzer to secure LaSalle’s 50-48 win over VCU in the last game of today’s A10 tournament. First LaSalle win in the A10 tournament since 2021, only the 2nd time in A10 history that a 14 seed advances in the tournament.

I would point out that the metro area High point is in is called the Piedmont Triad, which has a population of 1.6 million. It’s in the same Metro Area as Greensboro and Winston-Salem, NC. However, I’m not sure that’s relevant, because I’m sure they will never be more than the 4th most popular collage program in the area at best, with NC, NC State, and Duke as the competition. From a TV viewership point of view, they may as well be in the middle of nowhere. Edit - by “they may as well be in the middle of nowhere”, I am of course referring to someplace like Olean, NY

Not sure the A10 needs a 15th team to replace UMass as a full time member. However, if we do need a 15th team, then there is only one obvious answer: Colorado State University. Why you ask? Simple, they are the only D1 school with the nickname Rams not already in the A10. Time to complete the set.
