    Is he a good recruiter?
    Im beginning to question that.
just doing a quick glance at rivals he didn’t beat out a lot of big time programs for these players.

Collins: Bradley, DePaul, Loyal Iowa, SPUMAC, Mo-state.
    Hargrove: Cleveland State and SPUMAC

    Thatch: SPUMAC and Tulsa

Jimerson: Charlotte, K-State, Columbia, High Point and Cincy

    Nesbitt: lost to Memphis

    Okoro: lost to Oregon

He got the STL guys but that is while Mizzou has been a dumpster fire. Will he land those guys if Mizzou makes the right hire?

    It’s more than just X’s and O’s.
It’s either poor player development, poor player evaluation, or poor recruiting.

I still consider myself a Ford guy but it’s getting harder and harder.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is SPUMAC?

I just bought tickets last night. Looks like the Chaifetz may be pretty empty tonight (with the number of open seats available last night). 😬

    Hope I'm wrong...

I feel like this might be a combination of

    1. It's gorgeous outside today and folks probably don't want to be inside even for the Bills and will watch at their favorite bar.

    2. This was likely a quick turnaround for more casual fans who may not have even known this game was happening until Monday as with all non-NCAA tournament postseason games.

I wasn’t pumped about losing Jacobs last year. But even more than that I’d say Jalen Johnson in 2018 was a tough loss

Is it bad I forgot about Jacobs, but very clearly remember Jalen? Probably because I had interactions with him more than anything. Hasn't he bounced around to 3 schools after us? Am I incorrect in remembering that his dad kind of made the decisions for him and transferred him for more playing time?

No where does it say when Nesbitt allegedly said the remark.

I am not defending her or Nesbitt.  I just hope he didn't say anything in that nature.

What I'm gleaning from all of this is Nesbitt needs to keep his mouth shut after a win. If he said anything, shame on him, but in no way was the response from the cheer team and coach appropriate either.

Last year at this time, I thought Jimerson might transfer. It seemed like he and Ford were having issues. Then nothing. Earlier this season, it looked like Thatch was angry every game, but nothing. The only difference here is that Hargrove’s Dad is on Twitter. I know very little about Hargrove, but no one should worry about his Dad’s opinion, it is obvious that his Mom is the dominant person in that family. If she wants a change, then TJ will move on. If she wants him to stay and double down, then he probably will. In either case, he is a good kid and people should stop speculating.

If I could "good post" react this a hundred times, I would.

I will be in attendance with my dad and brother. The last two tourneys we went to as a group both resulted in Billiken championships (2019 and 2013). So I have a good feeling.

We’ll ignore the fact that the three tourneys we went to before that all ended in first round exits.

Positive thinking in action 👍☝️ I like how you think. I'll be there, too!

Is is possible for Guy Phillips to not be awkward in moments like these?  The sentiment was already out there about being hopeful that Perkins would be back.  It was clear that Perkins wasn't going to make a big announcement either way, although it certainly seemed at one point, briefly, that he wanted to.  The moment happened, it passed, Perkins handed the microphone off, and then Gus Phelps, "correction, Guy Phillips," launches into a very odd "HE WILL BE BACK, stronger than ever" thing that he repeated like five times.  I guarantee it was something that Phillips prepared ahead of time, because he thought it would be cute and people would be talking about how witty he was.  I also am rather sure that no one in the Athletic Department or the coaching staff knew that Phillips was going to do that or approved it.

It thought he took a very genuine moment that was happening, that everyone who was paying attention understood, and made it very strange and cringeworthy.

Guy is just...Guy. He's a Guy named Guy who mispronounces the names of other Guys while making Guys feel awkward.

if you havent seen the difference in the hargrove demeanor this year compared to the previous two years, you arent paying attention.

this year at the billiken night at busch stadium, i went up to hargrove shook his hand and told him i was so proud of his attitude on the bench, in the huddle, and on the floor.   he was always supportive and cheering for his teamates, etc.   right now i wouldnt even approach him he has become so sullen

is it justified?   maybe somewhat.   that is an awful lot of athleticism that isnt getting much time.   however, it is as though he just doesnt get it.   the mistakes he makes yet after 3 years is honestly not acceptable.

is it all his fault?  well dont get me started on player development and coaching the players up.

i now believe for hargrove's own sanity, he probably should look elsewhere to find a coach and program that will fit his own skills and style.   that hurts me to say as he is such an incredible athlete that has given us plenty of highlight reel dunks, steals, etc.   but now i worry about the team as that doesnt bode well for team chemistry.   it is bound to divide the team as those scenarios ultimately lead to picking sides.   and players, the coach always wins those polls if it comes to playing time.

i always told my kids when they played sports in high school.   do not show negative attitude on the bench no matter how much that hurts.   always be the biggest fan of your teamates.   always support the coach.   it has long been my opinion that a coach has a hard time doling out the playing time.   by acting that way, you are only giving coach a reason to make a choice.   no matter how wrong that choice is.

I'll disagree with ya there, I've interacted with him in person and online over the past few weeks and I haven't noticed much of a change outside of the game. In game? Of course, I've seen what y'all are describing, but leave it all on the court and all that. TJ is experiencing growth of some kind no matter what's happening. This year hasn't been easy for anyone, Ford lost someone close and he's shown to be a bit more easily perturbed than other seasons. We lost Javonte which clearly threw off the team chemistry at the beginning of the year. This team's had so much adversity thrown at them the past 2 years. I think I was probably less sullen a couple years ago, too. As far as personality goes, no, I don't think TJ has changed. On the court is another debate.

I am sorry to hear this about the bench.

Hargroves family have been very privileged at Chaifetz with allowing Hargrove’s little brother to participate in the shoot around and walk on and off the court as he please.

Its been a fun thing to watch he interacts with all of the players and can hit 3 pointers and he is a little guy right now.

At the graduation ceremony after the game Hargrove was his old fun loving self he is a hoot to watch.

From what other posters have said that Hargrove’s father is a Ford critic on social media and that is not good for team harmony.

Because if TJ’s personality he is the wife and I’s favorite player.  TJ’s offensive game is why Thatch took his minutes so coach Ford made a good decision for the team not the popular decision on who starts.

Agree, I think people are reading too much into the TJ situation, he's always the spark on the bench mafia, plus he's fun and energetic as a player. As far as I know, his teammates like him, too. As others have suggested, VCU may have been an off night and he may have been frustrated with himself, hence the episode on the bench.

At enterprise about to watch our soon to be a10 companion ramblers. They are going to fit in nicely. Nice student section, nice fan support. Really like that addition.

Edit: decent fan section. Drake honestly might have more fans here.

The student section looks like Gryffindor/Hogwarts 😂 I mean I guess we could be Ravenclaw since their colors are blue and white. We could have Mason be Slytherin and LaSalle be Hufflepuff and rename the A10 Tournament the Triwizard Cup. I'll see myself out.

He’s not a Ford fan.  I watched twice when he got pulled Travis looked him in the eye and tried giving him a high five as he was being subbed out.  TJ made no eye contact and barely stuck his hand out.

Many have noted the body language isn’t/hasn’t been there.  Sometimes the little things tell the big story.

Also, don’t understand why we’d knock posters for speculating on transfers while the season comes to a close.  We watch our team, form opinions, and share it with fellow fans.  That is why this forum exists.  Doesn’t mean I think TJ is a bad person or even a bad player, just that he may be better suited in a different situation.  We see it time and time again

I agree with the board sentiment on not speculating on transfers, it just seems in bad taste. Just because he isn't a Ford fan doesn't mean he doesn't like playing here and wants to transfer. It's possible he loves everything about playing here with the exception of Ford. Ford could realize he's a valuable asset and contributer and TJ always gives his best effort. As long as it doesn't affect the games, they don't have to be friends or even have a relationship outside of player-coach. As long as he gives his best and as long as Ford utilizes him, I see no problem.

    Why this game still matters....

Most models weight the most recent games heavier than earlier games in the  season.  The Committee looks at the final 10 games as one of the more important criteria...What have you done lately.

This game matters if we go 3-1 in the Tourney.  If we go 4-0..we win and are in...if we go 2-1  we are out....at 3-1 we go to the Committee. The Committee will then look at our last 6 games...we are currently 3-2  coming into this game with VCU...If we win , we have a quality win and finish 7-3  and are taken under consideration by the Committee.  The Committee generally looks at teams that finish with 7+ wins.  If we lose today and and go 3-1 in the Tourney , we  finish 6-4... and we are out.

So does this game matter?....Should we give it 100%?...the answer is yes and yes.

    Go Bills

Wiz, you always have the best, most level-headed takes and, to quote Letterkenny's Squirrely Dan, that's what I appreciates about yous.

Chase Fieldhouse, Wilmington Del.  The 76ers G league team plays there.

The A10 just makes ridiculously silly moves.  This is worse than the mens tourney in Newport News.

The Fieldhouse itself is really nice though, I think it should be packed for the final. I was at the game and the natural light through the windows was pretty cool. I agree about the location, there's very little around to see or do outside of Philly.
