Remember the days when you either had to stay up late to watch Sportscenter to see if your team won or wait until the paper the next morning? I sort of miss those days. Cells phones with access to scores and highlights at the touch of one button, the culture of instant gratification ....the ability to just enjoy the moment is a thing of the past. Good luck getting a bunch of 18-22 year-olds to sit pay attention to one thing for 2-3 hours. Hell, good luck getting adults to as well!

Winning does indeed cure all (sometimes). Similar experience with me. Had friends with no connection to SLU other than being from St. Louis asking me to go in on season tickets with them.

Given the buzz around this team and using last year's home opener crowd number as a gauge, if it's under 8,000 then we don't deserve a basketball team.

Are a majority of the 71 year-olds going to bars before the SLU games? Honest question. I assumed they just parked as close to the arena as possible, went inside, enjoyed a beverage in their seat, and that the majority of people frequenting FH and other bars close by were those that could walk the 8 minutes. I guess I'll find out Friday night! Golf carts from FH to Chaifetz for people like your dad makes a lot of sense though, I agree.

Don't get me wrong, I'd probably use it if they had it. I just think it's kind of funny that people need/demand a shuttle when they can just walk there in 8 minutes.

Par for the course with Mizzou fans. I had a few Mizzou fans tell me their "sources" were saying Gordon was switching to Mizzou. "EVERYONE knew about it", according to them. Heard this for several weeks. I texted a few of them today after Gordon signed and the story is now that their "sources" are telling them it's just because Gordon got tons of cash from SLU and that "EVERYONE knew about it". The best part is their answer when you ask them whether or not Mizzou players get paid to commit to Mizzou

my favorite part in all of this were all of the delusional Mizzou fans who claimed Gordon was going to switch to Mizzou but when it became apparent he was not, the narrative shifted to Gordon accepting a LOT of money from SLU. Bless their hearts!
