OT: Porter out for the year
Slu let the dogs out? replied to billiCAN's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
I get the Mizzou connection for the Porters but I was just thinking about this: U Dub/Seattle > Mizzou/Columbia. I'd pick that school/conference/city 11 out of 10 times over Columbia and Mizzou. To each their own I guess. -
Looks like it. Surgery with 3-4 months recovery time. Ouch. This is about as Mizzouy as it gets.

If he would've ended that spin move with a power two-handed dunk I would've creamed my pantaloons. Yes, I wear ladies pants. -

DJ looked incredible. I jumped in the car after the game to get some things from Walgreens and listened to Ford's post-game show. He thought DJ was player of the game (a bit hyperbole). So quick off the first dribble. Pretty soft hands, although there was one pass he let slip through his hands that would've led to 2 easy points. He's going to give opposing teams fits under the basket, at both ends of the court. -

I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times already but does anyone have an idea on his net worth? His companies aren't publicly traded, correct? Side note: I almost bought a condo at One57 but was turned off by the lack of outdoor living space -
My source tells me that the three players will be out for 5-6 games (Graves out until next semester obviously). Who's my source? Great question. Just a friend who went to SLU whose connections to the basketball program, administration, or players are completely unknown to me. But he's a nice guy, so...

Remember the days when you either had to stay up late to watch Sportscenter to see if your team won or wait until the paper the next morning? I sort of miss those days. Cells phones with access to scores and highlights at the touch of one button, the culture of instant gratification ....the ability to just enjoy the moment is a thing of the past. Good luck getting a bunch of 18-22 year-olds to sit pay attention to one thing for 2-3 hours. Hell, good luck getting adults to as well! -

Winning does indeed cure all (sometimes). Similar experience with me. Had friends with no connection to SLU other than being from St. Louis asking me to go in on season tickets with them. -

Given the buzz around this team and using last year's home opener crowd number as a gauge, if it's under 8,000 then we don't deserve a basketball team. -

Taking my wife to her first ever Billikens game tonight. She's pumped! Even wants to stop at Rally House to get something to wear tonight. As for attendance, I'll say 8,500 in the house. Zero reasons why this game shouldn't be sold out though...
