  1. St. Mary Magdalen is a great option because of the drive through. I'm still not sure how there hasn't been a major accident at Brentwood and Manchester because of the line. Not a fish fry but I used to go to Miss Sheri's Cafe in Warson Woods for a fish sammy during lent but sadly they closed down.
  2. my guess is someone came home after having one too many and fell asleep with this in the oven. I think we've all been there
  3. We are going to Savage this month for our dinner club. Cannot wait! How was the a la carte menu? I've got 58hundred on the radar. Everything on their menu looks good.
  4. Peppes's Apt 2 is excellent. I always forget about it since it's off the beaten path but you should definitely give it a try. My wife and I have a dinner club with 2 other couples and we pick a new restaurant each month. Our goal is to knock off pretty much every restaurant on Ian Froeb's top 25 list. Stone Soup was good but we weren't overly impressed. For the best combo of food/atmosphere/service, Vicia's tasting menu is number 1 and it's not even close. Another favorite of my wife and I is The Crossing tasting menu. You can pretty much choose anything on the menu as a replacement on the tasting menu. They also have an excellent wine list. EDIT: Speaking of Vicia, just saw they (Michael Gallina) are a James Beard finalist for best chef midwest Only one from STL (sever STL restaurants/chefs made the James Beard semis).
  5. My hot take for the day is Union Loafers pizza is the most overrated Pizza in STL. Last time I ordered it, it wasn't just slightly burnt (which I believe is the intention) but severely burnt. Here's a picture of it*: I really want to try their lunch tough. Their sandwiches and soups look really good. *No, that's obviously not a picture of it
  6. Protzel's Deli has the best reuben in town and it's not even close. Forgot about Malone's. I think there is also one up in North County.
  7. Jealous! Was supposed to go to NYC recently but called it off. I had Katz's on my to-eat list during my visit. Have you ever been to Protzel's or Carl's, Roy? Hard to leave there without spending $15 on a sandwich. Although I'd imagine Katz's is a bit more expensive...
  8. I'm an always lock guy. My tinkles generally last no longer than 30 seconds so they can wait for me to finish up. I also don't want some poor bloke leaving the bathroom feeling like less of a man than when he walked in.
  9. You bet your sweet a** it is! Unless it closed down within the past 3 months.
  10. I've spent weeks researching their menu and still don't know what I'd try first. I suspect it would be the beef pide though.
  11. I don't order burgers often but the O+O burger is unreal. Gotta stop in and get it considering you live and work close by.
  12. Guerilla Street opening a brick and mortar store in Webster (Old Orchard) within the next few months!
  13. Frisco is great. That part of Webster (Old Orchard) has been pretty boring most of my life so it's exciting to see some life pumped into it the past year or so.
  14. Thinking about getting Balkan Treat Box for lunch today. Has anyone been to their brick and mortar store in Webster yet? Haven't been yet because they were doing dine-in only until things settled down a bit.
  15. No, it gives it an A++ because it withstood this seasons's bourbon onslaught! My liver and the siege of Bastogne....2 great American victories.
  16. My liver: A++...pretty much every game this year, especially the last 5 minutes of each game, drove me to drink
  17. Ha that's exactly what I yelled at my tv. Although it was slightly slurred after having 4 too many Buffalo Trace's
  18. THAT WAS A FOUL! DJ WAS FOULED! And then they turn around and hit the 3
  19. No sir. But I like the start to this 2nd half. LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I'm more worried about getting to 50. In the end, I can't really be all that upset. We made the tournament after it seemed as though all hope was lost. It's a great stepping stone. It's good for recruiting (in spite of the outcome).
  21. Well it could be worse. We could be getting destroyed by a lower seed (see: VCU).
  22. Not really a specific memory but the memories I have of going to the games as a kid when they played at Kiel. I remember my friend and I would hoard those balls they threw into the crowd and then we would go back to his house and play basketball in his room. If I had to pick a specific memory, the game versus Washington/Conklin's screen. I knew then this team was going to be fun to watch, that they weren't afraid to push around a P5 school, and that this was the start of something special. I believe Washington went on to win the Pac-10 regular season that year. Beating Cinci in the conference tourney is also up there.
