1. Tons of kids from Chicagoland so 2/3 doesn't sound unrealistic. Perhaps it was just my major but it seemed like everyone in my classes were from New York/Minneapolis/California.
2. I'm curious about that as well. A bit superficial but I wish the acceptance rate was lower than the low 60s. Hopefully the increase in admissions was commensurate with applications.
3. It sounds like a WNBA name....not that there's anything wrong with that.
4. I doubt this name will get any consideration for several reasons but I kind of like the name Saint Louis City.
5. I heard the MLS wants to stay away from Saint Louis FC or Saint Louis United but who knows.
6. The more I think about it the more I dislike this move. Not that the ownership group cares at all about my opinion but based on the lot size north of Market, it seems the stadium would have to be built parallel to Market which means both goalies could potentially be staring into the sun during the course of the game. This would also limit the number of people with views of downtown (assuming the stadium design was open) to just the section behind one goal. I'd also rather have a stadium that will probably be used 50 times a year tucked back between the interstate, Union Station, and hotel (and closer to the Metrolink). Seems that any mixed use component would fit more naturally on the north side, closer to existing residential and commercial buildings. Someone was speculating that this move was probably made in order to start construction ASAP which makes sense. BINGO
7. I read that their current location has room for expansion so it would make sense to have everyone there. 100% agree that it's the quality of people/jobs moving, not the quantity. If you are measuring "big" in terms of annual revenue I believe that is correct. Think Bunge had $45B in revenue last year. Centene in the 50s?
8. Correct. Edited that post for clarification. They've had a presence in St. Louis for a long time I believe. This one is more of a psychological/perception victory for St. Louis than anything else, and a big win for St. Louis ag tech. When is the last time a Fortune 500 company moved its HQ to St. Louis? I think I read it was Post Holdings.
9. Build A Bear moving downtown is a win for downtown. Downtown needs more wins. If I could take the Metrolink to work every day I would. 40,000-50,0000 rides/work day on the Metrolink. The odds of me getting shot or robbed are extremely low.
10. Square moving downtown and expanding, Build a Bear moving downtown, a Fortune 250 company moving its HQ from White Plains to STL, MLS announcement.....lots of positive news in St. Louis lately!
11. I'm not sure about that but I would think you would be able to pay extra for FSMW if you do not live in the St. Louis area.
12. Valpo added to schedule per Stu:

I’m told that SLU has solidified a nonconference home basketball game against Valparaiso.
— stu durando (@studurando) August 14, 2019
Updated non-conference schedule: Florida Gulf Coast - 11/5 Valpo - (possibly between Christmas and New Years?) Eastern Washington - 11/13 Seton Hall - 11/17 High Point - 11/20 Belmont - 11/23 Boston College - 11/27 SIUC - 12/1 Tulane - 12/8 Auburn - 12/14 K State - 12/21
13. Murray State on another "Final X" list. It's almost as if making the tournament and winning a few games helps with recruiting. Probably didn't hurt to have the 2nd overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft on the squad either...
14. That's weird. When I go to Hulu's website and type in my zip code, these are the channels that are included. Mine shows CBSSN but I'll check when I get home this afternoon:
15. Former: Directv (with HBO) and internet through AT&T - $110 Hulu - $14 Netflix - $15 Total - $139 with an increase to $152 during basketball season to add the package that included CBSSN. Current: Internet through AT&T (probably switching to Charter soon) - $45 Hulu + Hulu Live - $50 Netflix - $15 HBO (through Prime) - $15 Total - $125 which includes CBSSN and FS2 (via Hulu Live). Don't have to worry about my signal going out during storms. No more cable box. Maybe the most valuable component of "cutting the cord" (for me at least) is not having to deal with customer service or having to go through the song and dance everyone goes through when your contract is up or when they jack up the price. Not having to commit to a multi year contract,...another benefit.
16. ESPN was wrong (shocker). The ESPN people told me they didn't have a record of any subscription and to look at my Apple subscriptions. I did. There wasn't anything in there. I'm pretty sure ESPN does that to try and delay the cancellation process another week or two just to squeeze another $5 outta ya. Pretty sure there was a 6-8 game stretch in February/early March where the SLU games were on CBSSN. No way I was going to miss that many games in a row so had to upgrade (from an already expensive Directv package that didn't have that channel).
17. If I would have switched to Hulu LIve before last season, I would have only missed the 2 ESPN+ games (I think it was just 2). Instead I had to upgrade my DirecTV package to get FS2 and CBSSN. Yes, if you are in the St. Louis tv market you will get FSMW and FSMW+ in addition to FS1, FS2, CBSSN, NBCSN, and many more sports channels with Hulu Live. If you are not in the STL market, I'd imagine you would be able to add FSMW for an additional monthly payment but not positive. Pretty sure this is the current list of channels you get with Hulu Live. This picture just shows the basic channels list since I couldn't find a large enough image that included the St. Louis-specific local channels (i.e. FSMW):
18. HULU Live tv is not user friendly at all. Still trying to get used to it. HULU Live does have CBSSN and NBCSN. I think if you already have HULU, it comes out to $50 for Hulu and their live tv service with no commercials. The deciding factor for me was that HULU Live has sports channels that carried SLU games last year (CBSSN and FS2) that Directv made me pay extra for. They also have 2-3 other sports channels that didn't come with my Directv Package. I've watched some Cardinals game on HULU Live and it's not bad. One feature I do like is that it always starts from the beginning of the game even if you come in 2 hours after first pitch. Press 2 buttons and it takes you live. I'd imagine this feature holds true for any sporting event. I also believe you can record sports with Hulu Live but I may have read that incorrectly.
19. We cut the cord last month and love it. The net savings only ends up being about $5 over internet and tv through AT&T but I get 4-5 channels with HULU Live that I didn't get with Directv unless I upgraded, including: CBS Sports and FS2, both channels that featured a ton of SLU games last year (mostly CBSS). Plus I don't have to worry about thunderstorms anymore... I had no clue you could access ESPN+ on your Roku (thanks for that tip, Pistol). I was watching the ESPN+ SLU games on my flip phone last season.
20. 46th Annual Cherry Pit Spitting Championship on The Ocho? That is real life? I signed up for ESPN+ last season to watch a few SLU games and it was a pain in the tuchas cancelling it. ESPN told me I downloaded it through Apple, Apple told me it was through ESPN. I eventually got it resolved.
