  1. That's why all of the girls team was cheering him on so loudly at the open practice
  2. He looks like a dollar store Rob Loe. Hope I'm wrong, would love to see 7' on the roster
  3. He's a lot higher on Traore than I would've been. Huge ceiling but don't think he's that close to it yet. My cousin and I did too, I was thrilled to be sitting in the Andre Lorentsson fan section. Best part of the scrimmage was when one of the ladies' team said "They get more fans for a practice than we do for conference games"
  4. What I have always loved is his effort forces the other guys, Stu specifically, to work harder than they would've otherwise. Stu's content has doubled in quality and quantity alike since Carter came on the scene.
  5. I, for the record, think this timeline is irresponsibly optimistic. I work a career that is directly related to the construction industry and I deal with supply chain and labor delays on a daily basis. I can't in good faith believe that a $25mil project in city limits will be completed in less than a year and a half's time.
  6. Source of mine said by May 2023, operational for C/O '23 recruits arrival. Also confirmed it will be Chaifetz-adjacent filling the grassy area between the NW end (south of softball fields and main walkway to Olive garage) and overlapping into some of the Fred Weber VIP lot. Carter has some questionable takes but for the love of God we all do, he's great at what he does and the hustle is unparalleled in Billiken media coverage. He loves his job and that's apparent so let's show him love for what he does. That being said, @billikenfan05 to insist that any of the comments made RE: Chapley were compromising of his mental health is a big stretch. If they actually are, as another poster mentioned, being any sort of a public figure is not a healthy decision for him when PG-rated levels of criticism become life threatening.
  7. As for starters I think we'll see a total of 8 different guys start throughout the season - Yuri, Nesbitt, Perkins, Okoro, Linssen, Hargrove, Jimerson, Thatch. In no particular order after the first three.
  8. More so offensively than defensively, and that also depends on the matchup. Some teams will play centers that would squash him, some teams will play centers that he might start over. We'll see what happens but I don't see many a scenario in which he'd ever need to lead the front court
  9. This is unlike what I saw Sunday, they were really busting their a$ses out there.
  10. Maybe I'll bring a phone charger and Facebook live it
  11. I thought this thread would be a fun idea for us MBMs to advertise what we do for a living in case any other posters can be of benefit to or in need of our professional services. Speaking for at least myself, if I know one of us can offer something I'm looking for, or I can be of assistance to one of y'all that's looking for something that I can offer, I'll jump at the bit. My apologies if this has been done before but I've been around for a while and can't recall ever seeing this done. I know some of y'all prefer to remain anonymous but for those that don't I hope we can put this to good use. I work in Systems Sales and Design for a custom technology integrator named Westco Security and Technology Systems. We are low-voltage specialists and design, sell, install, and service burglar and fire alarms, video surveillance systems, audio visual systems, small-scale networking systems, access control and smart automation solutions, and more. We've completed jobs ranging from $100 to over $1,000,000 (not a typo) and as you can imagine there are a lot of possibilities within that range; as small as installing a sound bar or a video doorbell to complete technology integration in a new construction luxury home, we're happy to do it all. What do you do?
  12. Confident, strong, and prepared. He showed me exactly what I expected to see out of him - the same type of improvement and as much or more than we saw from year one to year two in year two to year three
  13. Disagreed. I know the difference and what I saw was an ego problem, and one that the players and staff alike were both used to and tired of seeing. I do however trust in Ford’s ability to beat it out of him and believe guys like Yuri, Fred, Linssen won’t let it slide on the court.
  14. I said he reminded me of a less thicc Cody Ellis on Sunday.
  15. That is me. Grandpa got the invite for us to attend practice and half a dozen of us went. I was blown away by a variety of things I saw and my thoughts are as follows: Lorentsson looked as comfortable and confident as anybody. He took smart shots and made most of them, >50% from deep but hit a couple of midrange and got to the rack too. I didn't keep stats but he stood out as much if not more than anyone else and he was likely the leading scorer in that scrimmage - not to mention he shot ~80% throughout all the other drills and shoot arounds. I don't know how he'd fit in the rotation, or how often he'll fit in the rotation, but he exceeded my expectations tenfold and looked like a player that will have a role...then again so did 11 other guys. Okoro looks more like a basketball player than any Billiken I've ever seen. Every one of his dunks looked like he wanted to shatter the backboard. He communicated really well with everyone on the court and I loved to see that kind of involvement from the big man - also loved his accent. Yuri looked as Yuri as ever and with the amount of talent on this roster he might be one of the best PGs in the country this year and will DEFINITELY improve over last year's APG. Nesbitt is a stud, but I think he has an attitude problem. Christian Nunez was his scrimmage team's HC and more times than I can count on one hand had to ask him to keep his cool and focus on the game. I wouldn't say he's a Grandy Glaze or Carteare Gordan type of problem, but his talent and ability paired with his immaturity and popularity might prove problematic this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ford make a point early in the season by giving other guys minutes over him as a punishment for that type of behavior. We're fuoking deep at every single position. Every one of them. And the team knows that because even in a random closed Sunday scrimmage practice each player had the intensity level of a mid-conference play game and at times didn't even look like they were playing against their own teammates. Perkins really did get big, but unfortunately it looks like none of it went to his legs. He did tweak his ankle in practice and sat out the final 2/3 of it but he’s most certainly fine and it was just precautionary. I’m hoping fragility isn’t an issue this year but had he gained in his legs what he did in his torso I’d be far more confident that it won’t be. Traore looked good. He’s big and definitely has the potential we saw in the limited footage. Likely just serves a practice role this year but could see him being serviceable in situations where Okoro and Linssen are in foul trouble. Jones and Yuri really went at it and it was a contest. I’m the biggest Yuri fan there is and I’ll be the first to say he can pick up the slack when Yuri has to step off the court. Rashad is as good of a shooter as we could’ve hoped for and maybe even better. From deep, contested, of the dribble, spot up…saw him make them all. I have more thoughts but I’ll sit on them unless anyone is looking for something specific. I plan to expand on them after Friday.
  16. Planning on Memphis and Drake is a pipe dream but could make it work.
  17. The athleticism of this roster is absurd, yes, but let's not overlook that it's arguably the best shooting roster we've had in memory. There's so much to be excited about.
  18. Just had this sticker custom made for my truck. Took a bit of editing on my part to update the ~85 logo (my favorite) but I think it turned out sick. Happy to share if anyone else wants to get some made for themselves.
  19. About damn time, hoping this means in the next couple of weeks.
  20. I'd imagine it's a % of the revenue each piece of TJ-related content brings in rather than a flat amount. Think commission, royalty deal.
  21. No, because ESPN only shows you the 61% that are dunks and not the 39% that are missed FGA
  22. From the tape I've watched this seems like a perfect comparison. I love that his scoring ability will pressure Yuri to do more of the same, and aside from that he nearly mirrors Yuri's skillset and playing style. Pass first, good on the dribble drive, fearless for a little guy. His ability to shoot off the dribble, get to the rim, and draw defense and pass out of the drive make him a real versatile player.
  23. I'm with you. I could see the Spurs jumping on him as he would fit their program well. Pop would tune up his shooting and have himself a gem.
