  1. Sorry, I'm not buying the story that a guy that knows enough to seek out the opposing fans' website to try to sell tickets has a dad and kids that have never been to a game.
  2. Yes, but don't know if that is good or bad for the NET. They might win all six, but still stay at the same spot. Probably need them to beat a decent team or two.
  3. Memphis is currently 37 in the NET rankings. We need them to climb into the top 30 to add another Quad 1 win.
  4. Nunn played for the Lakers last night (1-22). In the last 10 games, he was averaging about 20 minutes and 11 points per game for the Lakers. Can't imagine that he was just a throw in.
  5. Kalkbrenner. His mother played for the Billikens. I was disappointed when he chose Creighton, but I think he was always one that wanted to get out of town.
  6. Also, there is zero incentive to be loyal to anyone. You could have a kid sign a $15 million NIL deal, cash the check, and then announce he's transferring. Since its, technically, not supposed to be "pay for play," he would get away with it.
  7. They really seem like very similar players in a world where that player doesn't come around very often.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. There are 20 of us all sitting in one big block, so I hope we're fine. I'll tell my guys to bring their surliest of attitudes, and we'll see what happens.
  9. Come find us. We won't be hard to miss. We'll all be wearing the same royal blue shirts and we have four rows of five seats each in our section.
  10. I get the feeling the Bryce Golden and Travis Ford both wish that Travis had recruited Bryce a little bit harder to come here.
  11. When teams form a new conference, they have a five year waiting period before the new conference gets an automatic bid to the Tournament. I am not aware of any restriction on the number of at large bids.
  12. Anyone else going to the Davidson game? I have my group going there this year. There are 20 of us. We are staying in Charlotte and commuting up to Davidson that night. We are in the section that is right across the court from the Billiken bench.
  13. So, you are predicting that this team, who is currently in sixth place in the Summit Conference, will soon be invited to the Big East? By the way, this school values their athletics programs so highly that their football team currently plays its home games a local high school.
  14. Another reason that it would be nice to get into the Big East. The Big East had two teams finish in the Top 25 in both the men's and women's polls. Add SLU to that and having 3 Top 25 teams makes for a pretty good conference.
  15. The solution is having more evaluation done and more data given to the refs about their performance. I truly believe that most refs go into every game with the goal of being fair and getting calls right. It is my understanding that in the professional ranks, in each sport, refs gets communication after a game to tell them what they got right and what they got wrong. This helps them adjust their calls and fine tune themselves toward getting more calls right. I would try to do the same for these college refs. Perhaps an entrepenuer out there can come up with a company that, for a reasonable charge, gives refs feedback after each game. This could be built into the cost of the game just like the refs pay. Also, give teams the opportunity to send in a complaint about a refs performance. If a team complains about a refs performance at particular game, and in depth look is taken. The outcome is not the ref getting fired or fined, but just and independent evaluation that tells the guy "you did just fine, the team is wrong," or "you were really bad that game and here is why." The more information these refs have, the better they will be. Then, if you have a ref that is consistently getting graded poorly by the independent evaluators, that ref can be identified and weeded out, although I would expect this to be the rare exception and definitely not the rule.
  16. Right before we scored the last 10 points of the game, George Mason scored 9 consecutive points. I assume that you would blame that 9 point run on Ford not being there for his team, and then claim that our 10 point run was also because Ford wasn't out there. You're a broken record.
  17. Live and in person from across the arena, it seemed like much more contact last night. Watching the replay today, and it seems like there was barely any contact and the guy went down super easy. I thought it should have been a foul last night. Now, I think it was correct as a no call.
  18. My apologies to the people in Section 102, who heard me yelling this already all last night, but the refs refused to call anything on Odoru. He was the most physical player on the court and didn't get a foul until a few minutes left in the game. He was hooking his defender every time he made a move down low. He was mugging our guys on rebounds. He traveled several times and it wasn't called. It is very easy to have a big game like he did when the refs aren't calling anything against you. On the flip side, it is very hard to play against a guy that they refs are bowing down to.
  19. This guy is an NBA Hall of Famer whose number is retired by the Celtics. He didn't seem too physically imposing wearing the Billiken jersey, but he sure was effective.
  20. Not sure, why but I looked up Mason's roster. They have some names in their coaching staff. Their Director of Creative Media is Jacob Bear Their strength and conditioning coach is Handy Handerahan Their Director of Basketball Operations is T.J. Grams (I can only assume the T stands for Teddy)
  21. I have been following Indiana basketball since my son now goes there. They have a kid who is very similar to GJ, so I looked him up. His name is Trey Galloway. He does just fine with the physicality of the Big 10. Here's the comparison: Gibson Jimerson - 6'5" 205 lbs Trey Galloway - 6'4" 203 lbs Then I decided to look up the top 3 point shooters in the country from the power conferences. Here is what I found: Jabe Mullins - Washington St. - Junior - 6'6" 192 lbs Adam Flagler - Baylor - Redshirt Senior - 6'3" 185 lbs Casey Morsell - NC St. - Senior - 6'3" 200 lbs Grant Sherfield - Oklahoma - Senior - 6'2" 201 lbs Marcus Carr - Texas - Senior - 6'2" 175 lbs Brandon Miller - Alabama - Freshman - 6'9" 200 lbs D'Moi Hodge - Missouri - Senior - 6'4" 188 lbs Conclusion, GJ's weight is just fine for purposes of competing in high level college basketball. Also, B-Rich, this wasn't so much a criticism of your post as it was just curiosity on my part.
  22. I hope that in a few years we have to debate which Hughes has had the greatest impact on our program, Senior or Junior.
  23. This has probably been discussed before. My memory sucks. Once Jordan is given a roster spot, will he be the first four year player for the Billikens to have a regular roster spot in the NBA since Anthony Bonner?
