  1. I'm tired of losing and the wait till next year mentality. It's getting old to hear people say "They're good kids" without winning games. I think last year's 12-19 record tells me that the focus needs to go on the court instead of off it. UNLV's championship banner is still hanging at the Thomas and Mack Center, so not every team that has won it all has been squeaky clean.
  2. Like the NCAA commercial...everybody will go pro in something.
  3. You and I disagree on most everything, and I think here is another. I don't care what happens off the court, I care about what happens on it. Saint Louis University needs to have some short term success to make long-term planning relevant. I'm rooting for the Bills to do well, like you are. The difference is I don't really care how we get there; you have a vision in mind that you'd like to see them follow.
  4. Christian gave a good defensive effort and was a pretty good floor guy. Best of luck to him if he moves on.
  5. If they make the team better, bring them in. SLU is a tough school, and those who can't cut it will be gone.
  6. I know that many schools don't allow anyone to declare majors till they have a certain amount of credit hours.
  7. BRoy, my take on miscreant athletes is well documented...but I think you may be right this time. If there were that many issues over that kind of time, even Tark wouldn't have put up with it. As much as I'd love to have the best players we can find, there is a tipping point where the player is more trouble then he's worth. Good Luck to Willie if he does indeed come out...can't take it out on the kid for trying to pursue a dream.
  8. At least this year it isn't our guys...knock on wood.
  9. If it's the latter, sweater vests will be all the rage in DeKalb.
  10. He probably will. That said, I'm glad he'll be doing it at a place where we at SLU will never see him.
  11. Well done. I stayed away from psychology...
  12. When they crown a national championship in Alaska or Maui, someone else will speak.
  13. The best case scenario for Mizzou is that Billy G has signed with Texas Tech. I lived in Lexington in his last year, and it was horrible down there. That city went crazy with every UK loss (or even close win). I am glad he's signed so no one else makes the same mistake.
  14. Oh well, that balances it out since I'm always wrong...well, now we have both sides.
  15. Fine with me. Makes less sense arguing when neither of us is changing the other's mind.
  16. I was the one who suggested the bit you brought up. I stand by it as well. The regular season means very little to me, so that is where I stand. Champions are made in March, so a team that wins a bunch of regular season games and not a title did not accomplish the #1 goal they set out to. Also, much of this is relative. A Duke fan is going to have a lot different view of a "great season" than a SLU fan would. If Pitt loses in the 3rd round (like they did), it's a disappointment. SLU doing the same thing, we probably wouldn't be as upset.
  17. It's a win-win for us with the midget at Dayton TBH. If he's there and they suck, he's a conference win. If we beat them and they're good, more RPI points. If they keep scheduling us on Senior Day, that's a double whammy.
  18. I misspoke slightly, and I'm glad u caught it. I should have said...when the games count more.
  19. CC...I don't often agree with you, but you nailed this one. Dead Presidents will make people do a lot of things.
  20. I'm always up for baseball.
  21. I am one you disagree with. Notre Dame and Pitt failed when the games counted.
  22. I understand you don't agree, hence why I posted it. The litmus test for this is Pitt this year...#1 seed, good regular season, lost in tournament. To me, they did NOT have a great season. There can only be one champion, and that champion is crowned after the NCAA Tournament.
  23. I tend to agree with those who say the Postsesaon matters. An undefeated regular season team who loses in the third round of the tournament really wasn't that good. Results are what matters, and in NCAA Basketball, results are made in March/April.
  24. A-10 board blowing up about Staten transferring...seems he and the Dayton Midget couldn't get along. At least for our sake, the right one left.
