Maybe they bring Dan Hurley to Tucson and ignite the U of A / ASU rivalry even more?

With the exception of the USC first half, I just wasn’t that impressed with the Zags. With Kispert cold from the arc and Nembhard having an off-game, they couldn’t make up for their lack of foot speed on D. Suggs is a heckuva player, and Timme a crafty center, but there was no way the Zags could keep up with Baylor’s better athletes.
Vital looks like former BU great Mike Singletary out there. We need some bigs like that. Holy moley!

Kudos to Baylor! Punched them in the mouth and never let them back in.
tough for the Zags 3something and 1.
They needed to get that one loss out of the way. Get the feeling, don’t let it happen again. Many are called; Few are chosen.

Wager? Beers on me at Salina Brewing Co?

This isn't about fatigue, this is about getting your ass kicked by better players. Zags have 7 turnovers to 2, and getting outrebounded 12-6. Total domination so far.
Good post - although they look shellshocked. This is where the the BigXII conference strength exposes the WCC. Baylor plays superior conference foes.

Got Baylor at +175 earlier. Too much pressure on Gonzaga and like mentioned above Baylor was really good to begin the year and people kind of forgot about em. We will see though. Just hope it's a good game really...
Baylor the advantage of the early Saturday game and an easy dispatch of Houston; Gonzaga goes to OT against UCLA on the late game. Flat as three day old cola.

Baylor’s COVID pause threw them under the radar but they were this good before.
This is hard to read, for obvious reasons.

Had to stay up late last night for the Bills news and have to stay up late tonight for the Championship game....it sucks being old.
Not sure why it’s a 9:20 EDT start. What is CBS going up against?

Bally‘s used to have one of the most underrated breakfast buffets on the Strip. $20 and if you go around 10:30, you get the lunch fixings around 11 so bacon and eggs and crab legs for one low price. Let’s see how they do with sports.

20 point alert: national championship game style. Go Baylor!

Is this a serious question? Why not? Loyola costs around $65k per year and is a fantastic university. There are maybe 100 high schools that play ball in the greater St. Louis area. We have room for two to four new high school players per year. If Loyola awards one $65K schollie to a local hoopster, I say that is great. I want our local high school athletes, and students, to succeed wherever they may go.
No names on who we lost a one on one recruiting battle to Loyola yet?
Neither you nor BillsBy40 have stated why it is obviously a good thing Moser is gone.
Did we lose a recruiting battle for the services of one Porter Moser himself?

It’s clear some posters, including you, are more concerned about the success of Loyola than SLU. For that reason, I won’t explain the very obvious reasons why someone who has never coached a D1 game isn’t comparable to Porter Moser.
I’m concerned a program like Loyola, once a middle of the pack Horizon League team, has made two incredibly deep NCAA Tournament runs with a former Majerus disciple at the helm. All with a budget, facilities and fan base a fraction of ours. I’m not looking to post about Loyola’s success - I’m wondering when our time is going to come and what we need to do to ensure it happens. And how did we let Porter out of our grasp? I understand how the Saint Louis U’s of the world got passed by Creighton and Gonzaga and Marquette. But when Loyola plays Ignatian Leapfrog with us, that’s cause for major concern.

They already did. Drew Valentine isn’t going to be an extension of Porter Moser in any sense.
Continuity is a good thing and he will do a good job in a low-risk move for LUC. I’m sure he will bring some tenants of the Moser theology to the sidelines.

Not sure he called bank on that final shot.
Wow. We’ll be talking about this one for years. You gotta love college basketball. This is what it’s all about. Someday, we’ll be a part of it this late in the year.

You’ve heard my answer from 3star. With Porter they were a legit threat in recruiting. Now they aren’t. It’s that simple.
Unless they hire a branch of the Porter Moser tree.

I wasn't a D1 athlete, but I absolutely loved college and graduated in 3 years. I am now over 20 years into my "9 to 5" professional career and realize it is a exponentially easier to stack another year of work for financial gain than it is to get back those glorious college years, especially if you are big man on campus. Everyone has to make their own decision under their own circumstances, and I don't fault J Good for whatever he decides, but don't underestimate a chance to extend what will almost certainly be some of the best years of his life.
Did you just paraphrase Otter from Animal House there? Well done, sir. I knew that pre-law background would come in handy.

Says the 2011 Rose Bowl champs. TCU is some dirty, old north Texas oil money. Commissioner Bob Bowlsby couldn’t say no to them the way then-Gov Ann Richards (a Baylor alum) railroaded TCU out of the Big 8 when the SWC dissolved.
That story is about as close to an old Texas campfire tale if you are around the right people and there’s whisky to pass around. Also: TCU baseball is an elite program that has been to Omaha and not just for a BBQ. Five appearances in the last ten years.
Made an edit. Hit the wrong button.

TCU shouldn't be in that conference. They have no pedigree nationally. Oklahoma does.
I more perplexed why after offering Porter the moon, Loyola didn't go after another high profile coach. Promoting a super you g assistant could be a big mistake when you could throw a million at Archie Miller.

Agreed but it was reported Loyola offered him a 10 year deal worth $2.2M+ per year. He was set for life regardless.
That’s peanuts in Rogers Park, my friend.

I could see Moser at Notre Dame. Not sure how much longer Brey wants to coach though.
Not to bring up old Dukie assistants, but would you put Brey, Quinn Snyder or Tommy Amaker first on the list of most successful leafs on the Coach K tree? Maybe Dawkins?

In the last eight tournaments Dana Altman has advanced at least to the Sweet 16 five times, at least the Elite 8 twice and the Final Four once. Would Few have done better? Maybe, but Altman has been super successful at Oregon.

Hero of the ‘97 Natty team. Good call on that one! That team was so good. Jason Terry, Bibby, Michael Dickerson. Three eventual first-round draft picks.
Josh Pastner was on that squad, too.
And Sweet Lute on the bench... what a field general he was!
