  1. And, despite your great name (albeit not original) you are mistaken. Winning cures all, and as long as we win, a marginal price increase will not result in a decrease of tickets sold. Father Biondi would likely increase ticket prices for all but increase the student tickets at a decreased rate (or just increase the amount and automatically charge it as a "tuition expense.") So, the students will indirectly (and by that I primarily mean the students' parents) absorb the cost. It is natural for the cost to go up to some extent, the key is that it only be a reasonable increase. If that is the price of winning ball, then so be it. As long as it is not a New York Knicks-like 50% bump in all ticket prices, then it will not "kill any momentum the program has." Let's be reasonable here, we expect it, it will happen, it should happen, and that is OK because, hey, we were in the NCAA TOURNAMENT!!!!!! AND WE WILL BE BACK. Ok, I will pay $100 more over the course of 10-15 home games (7-10 more per game).
  2. Nice name, but I beat ya to it. It's all good, great minds think alike.
  3. Confirm he is really a Bills fan before making the sale. This being his first post seems a little fishy to me.
  4. This may be as good as it gets... http://livestats.prestosports.com/uri/mbkb/?e=a62ieu70bdzklv61
  5. We definitely do not have an All A-10 first team player, and I would doubt that we have an all A-10 2nd team guy. You have to figure that guards like Tu, Lyons, and Dillard will all get the nod over Kwamain. It is not a bad thing to be a well balanced team that has several options.
  6. CR was a game changer. His presence out there was huge, and he just looked focused and with it. We all know that at times in the past, he has looked a bit lost out there, and we know he has the potential, but we would just end up shaking our heads. But in the past few days, and especially yesterday, he really stepped it up. When we play more athletic teams, his play will be critical. He can do things and get to plays on the help side that Loe, Ellis, and even Conk just cannot get to. Keep it up CR!!!
  7. Yes, Bizziken, myself, and another buddy of ours from the STL will be there! We did not know about this alumni pre-game event. Where will that be??
  8. And, I said that it was at Villanova, a team we played this year. Highly relevant information.
  9. Busch Student Center Busch Stadium = Correlation
  10. I just went to a symposium at Villanova Law School that had a great panel of speakers led by Jeff Mooran (Owner/CEO of the Padres and Villanova Law Alum), Billy Beane, Omar Minaya, and Phil Griffin (President of MSNBC). The topic was generally the success of Moneyball and its impact on business and sports. Minaya was SUPER high on Molina and raved about him at all times. Omar referred to Yadier as his "Scott Hatteberg." I do not know how much a player the Padres will be in the Molina sweeptstakes, but I will say that Omar (now the Senior VP of baseball operations in San Diego) is a huge fan. He credited Yadier with being the guy who decided to pitch Beltran differently and said that the plan was not to pitch him that way, but that Yadier had the instinct and guts to change the call. I am just saying...Minaya loves his Latino ballplayers, and he loves catchers...Watch out!!! Padre Molina????
  11. Ohhh how could we forget about the best part of the ballgame!?!?!?!?!?!? Had the pleasure of listening to two 10-12 year old female versions of Lunardi (his 2 daughters) sing at halftime. Did SLU pay cash for Lunardi to be our consultant or did we just send the Lunardi fam a lifetime supply of Ted Drewes?? I think the lifetime supply is depleted.
  12. So, I live out in Philly and my roommate (also a SLU alum) and I went to the game last night (and will be there on Saturday as well). First of all, the fans: SLU FANS: We were literally the only two Billiken fans that could be heard at the game. I counted 4 others who wore SLU apparel, and believe I saw several possible Bills fans who rocked neutral colors. St. Joe's Fans: During the game, slightly classless with throwing some water/ice at my buddy for simply cheering. Postgame, they were super nice and were talking up a storm about how impressed they were with the Bills. One knowledgeable lady-hawk asked me, "yeah, but then how did you lose to UMASS?" Then, another guy approached me and said, "I work here and have seen many-a-hawk games, and I have never hated anyone like that Conklin fella." I thought that one was priceless and sums up Conks hard working effort (and perhaps flops) to a tee. SLU D: Absolutely suffocating. We refused to allow Aiken to be a factor and the team D and switches were fantastic. We looked real sharp and in the second half we stopped the baseline penetration that was killing us. Still need to work on limiting the second chance points, but we looked real sharp. GAME BALL: CODY ELLIS. Obviously, Cody gets this one hands down. We were sitting right behind the basket that Cody found his touch on in the second half. His threes seemed effortless and we drew up some nice plays for him (especially the one coming out of the timeout). I will say that 5/6 maybe even all 6 were surprisingly uncontested. They could not fight through them screens at all and Cody torched them. IMPRESSIVE!! RICK MAJERUS: Rick Majerus personally high-fived me after the game and thanked me for coming out to the game! What a classy man. The rest of the Bills also high-fived us as they hit the locker room. My Question: Does anyone who listened to/watched the game know why Jett's minutes were limited? Did Rammer mention this? SLU TAKING PHILLY BY STORM: So against the "Big 5 Teams" we are 2-1 and look to extend it to 3-1 on Saturday.
  13. Will be at both games this week in Philly
  14. Got to single digits before I thought....let's just keep it up and keep chipping away
  15. We will cut this to single digits by the 10 min mark
  16. No idea why it reminds you of that game. We were up 4 at half in that one.
  17. Nova lost to Marquette by 4. Would have been a nice W...then again, doesn't matter if we lose this one
