  2. same nephew that got booted from slu for being a jackoff?
  3. Willie Showtimenwg Reed Q:Will you be coming back to slu? A: I'd love to if I didn't have to do everything they tryna make me.. I love slu! interesting twitter/facebook status..
  4. "Maybe" by Roar a poem to roy. Maybe I WILL buy a green sweatshirt. Maybe I put that green sweatshirt on. Maybe I will find a girl who has a Red Sweatshirt on. Maybe we have Christmas color sex up and down pine street. Maybe she regrets it the next morning. I wont. I wont. Maybe I get brought up in student court. Whatever. Maybe I buy her some plan b. Maybe I dont. Maybe she is preggers. Maybe the baby wins the baby race. Victory. see what happens when you encourage the buying of green sweaters?
  5. That Jackass from Baylor beats his girlfriend. She says they were "playing" and he gets a 3 game suspension. Our guys get proven innocent by cops over a drunk SLU.t and they get tossed out of school. W.T.F. Mate?

  7. Everyone needs to throw Phillip Nolan out of the speculation...Not a shot we even get close to him
  8. all i said is he will get his ass handed to him... its not that "flammatory".. its being blunt. being a billiken fan is supporting players and hoping they do well? sounds like every mother in the country should be a billiken fan..but if you were looking for that type of thing, im sure the saintsations would love to start a message board.. isnt part of being a knowledgeable fan knowing limitations and strengths of the team/players?
  9. do you want me to sugar coat it for you next time? He is a freshman. Yes, he could be good in a few years with more experience/muscle. Not now. The A-10 is too deep and experienced this year for him to have an impact on a GOOD team..sorry you think being realistic is not being a good fan, but if DE is one of our best players this year, we will be looking at a pretty poopy year... are you challenging my fanhood? Did you really take offense to the comments about DE? What type of fantasy land do you live in? This is the real world brah. If you want high fives and way do great stickers then become a duke fan. I mean seriously. this is no attack on a player? its a friggin message board post hombre. Its also time you become a realist.
  10. Hey DocB. You called. I answer. DE looks great! I mean, you are soooo right! He's got freshman of the year in the A-10 written all over him! WRONG! you cant base crap off these first few games. congrats. he tried harder and learned the offense the quickest (no surprise there, smart kid) .. by the end of the year he will still be the 4th best freshman in this class... He will get his ass owned when we play real teams while the others will step up and get better.. next time you want to pat yourself on the back, wait a little longer. we have literally played 2 community college teams for the blind. did you see us get lit up by the ginger from Cardinal State University College Stritch?
  11. Why? I'll tell you why. John Stamos's flowing locks. Thats why.

  17. This is the blue ribbon thing on espn insider... looks like they did it before knowing "the situation"... COACH AND PROGRAM Saint Louis coach Rick Majerus has never been one to conform to others' ideas or opinions of him. So it's no surprise that last year's Billikens team didn't conform to others' ideas or opinions of them either. Picked by the Atlantic-10 coaches and media to finish 12th out of 14 conference teams, largely because of a roster that featured all freshmen and sophomores, Saint Louis transcended its youth and finished fourth in the regular season, eventually losing to Rhode Island in the A-10 Tournament quarterfinals. Snubbed by the NIT, the Billikens made the most of another postseason opportunity, advancing to the finals of the College Basketball Invitational tournament, where they lost a best-out-of-three series to VCU. Saint Louis won the way Majerus-coached teams have always won -- with defense. The Bills finished second in the conference in scoring defense, holding teams to 60.2 points per game. Four times they held opponents to under 50 points, and 12 times they held them to under 60. It's unlikely anyone in the conference will pick Saint Louis to finish in the lower half this season, with all of its significant players returning. But Majerus knows if his team is to maintain its top-four status, or move even higher, it must find some offense to go along with its stellar defense. Saint Louis ranked last in the conference in scoring last season, averaging 63.4 points per game, marking the third year in a row it's ranked either last or second-to-last in that category. In its A-10 quarterfinals loss to Rhode Island, the Rams held the Billikens to 47 points. Richmond held them to 36 during the regular season. "They embarrassed us," Majerus said of Rhode Island. Saint Louis has been known for its guard play in recent years, but Majerus believes the way to squeeze some more offense out of his team is to rely more on its low-post players. "We've got to get the ball inside more," Majerus said. "We've got to be more middle-game orientated." PLAYERS The two players capable of making Majerus' strategy a success are 6-8 sophomore forward Cody Ellis (10.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg) and 6-9 junior forward Willie Reed (12.4 ppg, 7.9 rpg). Saint Louis Billikens Last Season 23-13 (.639) Conference Record 11-5 (4th) Starters Lost/Returning 0/5 Coach Rick Majerus (Marquette '70) Record At School 57-42 (3 years) Career Record 479-189 (23 years) RPI Last 5 years 103-74-135-128-80 Ellis, who hails from Australia, missed the first 14 games of his freshman year waiting to be cleared by the NCAA. When he finally was, he proved to be versatile. He grabbed 11 rebounds against Duquesne in his second career game, and launched 11 three-pointers (making six) in his fifth against George Washington. But Ellis was also out of game shape, which hindered his performance. He scored only three points in 29 minutes in the Billikens' A-10 Tournament loss to the Rams, and three points in 22 minutes in the last game of the year, a CBI tournament loss to VCU. "He was out of shape for most of the season," Majerus said. "He needs to step up this year." Majerus thought Reed was also out of shape, which negatively impacted his minutes. But when he was in the game, he was a force. He finished second on the team in scoring and led it in blocks with 73. He finished the year with nine double-doubles, including back-to-back in the CBI. Majerus' only criticism of Reed, aside from his conditioning, is that he needs to be more consistent in big games. Aside from an 18-point, 13-rebound performance against Xavier, Reed struggled against the top teams in the conference. He scored two and seven points in his team's two games against Dayton, didn't play in its first one against Richmond, and scored seven in the Billikens' A-10 Tournament loss to Rhode Island. Brian Conklin (6.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg), a 6-6, 230-pound junior forward, was one of the players who helped Ellis acclimate himself to the college game. He apparently did too good of a job, as Ellis eventually took his starting lineup spot and most of his minutes. Conklin played 20 minutes or less three times before Ellis arrived, and 15 times after. Conklin was Saint Louis' second-best offensive rebounder, a skill that could earn him more minutes as the Billikens attempt to become more offensive-minded. One player Majerus expects to make a significant improvement this season is 6-7 sophomore forward Cory Remekun (1.9 ppg, 1.8 rpg). Majerus wanted to red-shirt Remekun, who at 17 was one of the youngest players in Division I last year. But he couldn't because of the make-up of Saint Louis' roster. Remekun saw significant minutes immediately, hit a lull in the middle of the year, and then picked it up at the end. He had his best game in the last one of the year, scoring a career-high 13 points and grabbing seven rebounds. He also finished second on the team with 32 blocks. Adding depth to the frontcourt is 6-6 freshman forward Dwayne Evans, who was the 37th-ranked shooting guard in his class according to Scout.com, and 6-11 center Rob Loe, the top-ranked recruit out of New Zealand. Loe has extensive international experience, having competed on the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championships, where he averaged 18.8 points, and the New Zealand Men's National Team, where he was the youngest player. Loe also competed on the World Select Team at last spring's Nike Hoops Summit in Portland, Ore. "Rob gives us a strong four man," Majerus said. "He has the versatility to play on the perimeter, off the elbow or down low. He is an outstanding shooter who can stretch the defense, opening opportunities for our [perimeter players] to get to the rim because of his range and shooting ability. Rob's passing prowess and unselfishness really appealed to me and my assistant coaches." Blue Ribbon Previews Take an Inside look at the Atlantic-10 with Blue Ribbon's 2010-11 team reports: Charlotte Dayton Duquesne Fordham George Washington La Salle Massachusetts Rhode Island Richmond St. Bonaventure Saint Joseph's Saint Louis Temple Xavier The job of distributing the ball to Saint Louis' frontcourt will fall mostly on the shoulders of 5-10 junior point guard Kwamain Mitchell (15.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.4 spg). Mitchell, the only player to start every game last year, isn't selfish, but he's very much a score-first point guard who's prone to turnovers. He led the Billikens last year in scoring and three-pointers made (64-of-178, .360). Majerus expressed hope before last year that Mitchell might cut down on those turnovers, but he actually worsened, going from a 1.33 assist-to-turnover ratio his freshman year to 1.23 last year. Majerus believes Mitchell's problem is mental rather than physical. "He has to not settle, and put more of an emphasis on recognizing what's going on around him," Majerus said. "He needs to become a better passer." Starting alongside Mitchell is 6-3 sophomore guard Christian Salecich (6.4 ppg, 2.3 rpg) and 6-3 junior guard Kyle Cassity (6.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg). Cassity actually led Saint Louis with 3.3 assists per game, and had fewer turnovers than Mitchell. But he struggled offensively, breaking double-digits in scoring once over his last 10 games. He scored no points in 33 minutes in the final game of the year. Salecich, who also hails from Australia, proved to be a bigger contributor than Ellis, starting 31 games. Although he was a more consistent offensive contributor than Cassity, Salecich too struggled at times, scoring two points or less nine times. He also shot .246 (32-of-130) from three-point range, too low a percentage for a player who hoists that many shots. Majerus believes Cassity and Salecich's offensive improvement is simply a matter of getting into a gym and shooting more. Instilling that type of work ethic is a senior's job. But Majerus has none. "I have no seniors to show them the way," Majerus said. "I can't wait until next year [when he will have seniors]." Adding depth in the backcourt will be redshirt junior Paul Eckerle, who missed last year with a knee injury but has played in 61 games during his Billikens career, and a pair of freshman -- 6-2 guard Jordair Jett, who hails from Minnesota but attended Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass., last year, and 6-0 guard Mike McCall, who's from Chicago Foreman High School. Majerus likes Jett's physical nature, but doesn't like the fact that he's arriving with the combo-guard tag. "I don't like combo guards," Majerus said. "I like my point guards to be point guards." Jett averaged 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists at Notre Dame Prep. The year before, as a senior at St. Bernard's High School in St. Paul, he averaged 20 points, five assists and five steals and came up with a 17-point, 11-rebound, 11-assists, 10-steal quadruple-double. McCall, who received scholarship offers from Pac-10 and SEC schools, is similar in style to Mitchell. He was rated the No. 6 senior in talent-rich Illinois by ChicagoHoops.com. As a junior he averaged five assists but also shot 44 percent from three-point range. BLUE RIBBON ANALYSIS BACKCOURT: B+ BENCH/DEPTH: A FRONTCOURT: B INTANGIBLES: A- Majerus proved last year yet again that great coaches can turn teams with question marks into teams that win. The Billikens had every reason to fail, but didn't thanks to stellar defense and an uncanny ability to raise their intensity level in conference games. No one will be picking against Saint Louis this season, as it returns all its starters and key reserves. But the Billikens are going to have to manufacture more offense if they're going to contend for an A-10 title. Majerus hopes to manufacture more offense by supplying his frontcourt with more scoring opportunities. If his strategy works, Saint Louis will be in the hunt come February.
  18. For the person suggesting km should redshirt... Would the NCAA grant a redshirt year to a player suspended for half the season? Or would he just have to enroll in the school next year to have 2 full years left..like I said I have no idea about this rule but it seems ncaa granting a redshirt for the reason he has to miss first half of season would not happen.. I believe if he comes back, he plays.
  19. thank Husakattack for the billiken sign
  20. Watching DocB try and defend his DE claim is like watching a retard hunt for Easter eggs.
  21. Age:..35 years old, thrice divorced, and living in a van down by the river How about those name drops!? A few questions tho.. How do you like the 3-point line? Do you miss staring at steve alfords boy thighs while he wore those short shorts? YOU SHOT FREE THROWS WITH HIM TOO! OMG* TELL ME MORE! HOW ABOUT THAT TALK RADIO? Technology Baby!!! *OMG=oh my gosh. its in the dictionary. I'm sorry I pulled your chains, but you are really grinding my gears with your lust for PE. If you would yet again READ MY ORIGINAL POST you would see that I said he is a great kid who is most valuable as a role model/on court coach..these types of players are vital for young teams and I hope he stays around if he goes to med school here..with that being said, this is not a blog where i have to give out gumdrops, lolipops and taco-flavored kisses to all things billiken player related. THIS IS BILLIKENS.COM (300 voice) this kid is not better than the 4 other guards, kwamain excluded. kc? CS? MM? JJ? where does he get minutes that are not fill in? If he is playing that means that JJ and MM are not as good as we all think..and thats nones too good coach. i bet he gets around 7 min a game..happy now? Final thought on DE: He is a great kid who is smart, extremely well spoken and obviously loves the game. The perfect definition of student-athlete. He may be good, he may not. but he is not TL3. Back to your name drops. How were those tickets from the nose bleed section? Did you shoot free throws with magic too? DID HE SWEAT ON YOU?? ARE YOUR TEETH STILL THERE AFTER GRINDING THEM FOR SO LONG ON BOB KNIGHTS TEAMS? This is 2010 pal. I would name drop too but I dont want to hurt my toes. I may not have seen pre-aids magic play and I may not be 98 years old, but I have seen enough basketball and been fortunate enough to talk with great minds of the game to go back and forth all day about what you are seeing in todays game. Maybe you you should consider reading other sites and listening to talk radio..but if you want to stay up on your soap box, i will understand.
  22. just out of sheer curiosity -- have you even seen these new players? are you making these "judgments based on posts here on billikens.com?? if so I would say your "analysis" is pretty much worthless. sorry if this is stepping on your toes too much, but goodness: these are sweeping critiques based on exactly nothing. for example: guessing the DE will transfer, what a condescending remark. FYI--he is a cool all around talent and not unlike one Tommie Liddell, one that we would have been ecstatic about getting just a few years ago. I wish only the best for DE-- he is working hard and a very fine addition to SLU. He will definitely get some minutes, early and often IMHO. Your expert analysis: PE seeing the floor is not good? Well, we'll see. Go Paul, take you (in effect) senior season and enjoy. Pour in some 3-pointers, OK? I'd also like for you to look BC in the eye (or rather, probably the belly button) and call him a jackass. Or inform him he played like one. bring a towel. But my main point is, when you make idiotic comments based on internet rumors, it sort of makes you look like an idiot. ouch! or as Jimbo likes to say it : HATE! Ok. This one goes out to DocB. You are came at me saying i look like an idiot, and literally backed it up with nothing.. your first tag at me says you think my comments are "worthless" because I have not been to a billiken practice. You would be correct, but there were times they played in the rec over the summer. you say that my comments are based on nothing..do you watch basketball? do you follow other programs? have you ever read any other website besides this one? Do you work in sports? based on your answers, you are clearly a passionate billiken fan but a poorly educated college basketball fan. You really think my analysis is worthless and your first one involves a comparison between tl3 and DE..i think hussakattack broke that one down pretty easily for you, but said it in a nicer way than I would have. DE is not even on the same planet as TL3..I also said he was my pick to transfer because it has been a trend in the past few seasons for kids to realize they are not in the a system that fits their style of play..sorry i threw out a guess broseph. I was looking to answer some other of your accounts on how my opinions are worthless but realized you basically said nothing in your other comments asside from acting like a soccer mom and encouraging paul like he reads this board before he goes to bed at night. "go paul" hahaha that made me laugh because you really do sound like a jackoff. the kid is coming back from a major knee injury and wasnt the most athletic of players b4 he got hurt, look what happened to femi..i expect little from him..and yes, i would be glad to tell brian he played like a jackass at times last year. it would be the nicest way it was described compared to the ass chewings rickma gave him last year. and if you read the rest of my post, i do believe i said he would be greatly improved. READ FOOL! here's your towel back. And you say I make comments based on rumors. Well guy, I make my opinions based on what i see, hear and general knowledge of the game. How can you sit back and say they are so far off?? This season will be almost impossible to predict, but I state what I think and somehow it is completely wrong? Are you the expert I really need to be talking to here? its all personal guesswork anyway and im pretty sure i can spill what i think ..unless you are some sort of billiken basketball oracle who also gives out hugs and kisses to each and every player before they go to bed just to make sure they feel special. [deleted] To the people acting like I am treating this team like a BS team.. This is going to be a difficult year. Yes, we are lucky enough to have one of the most talented teams we have ever had, but it wont be enough. I believed, like everyone else, that the complete team was going to do great things this year. We had all the right pieces to the puzzle. They fit and it was going to be great. But now we have lost the 2 main pieces that gave every other player their identity and role. The talent may be there, but the way rickma has built this team, each of the different talents complimented each other, which brought out the best in each players abilities. The freshman will be a major factor, we know that. maybe MM is the freshman of the year and plays beyond his years, who knows. but it is highly unlikely. CE is solid, but he was able to work off having kwamain attack the d and dish or could leak out if willie was getting double teamed. how will his game be when he is the primary offensive threat to the other teams? CR was solid last year playing valuable fill in minutes, but can he handle the minutes required being the only true 5? My main point is each person is shifting to a new role on the team. Who knows if they will be able to make it work or not. I really believe kwamain being back will change a lot of these OPINIONS i have because he is the true leader of this team. But we are in a loaded A-10 this year, and even with the best team we have seen here in a looooonnngg time, we were still picked 3rd 4th or 5th by most experts. We have struggled with teams with talented big-men in the past even with willie, I cant imagine what players like Lavoy Allen, Damian Saunders and Aaric Murray will do to us now..All in all, I really hope my negativity gets thrown back in my face in the middle of the season, but I cant help but be a realist now in our current state.
  23. you are an idiot. roy- i agree about rpi..but still hate how we match up aganist these guys now..
