  1. Haha, of course. I wasn't trying to rag on you.
  2. Thank god we don't decide guilt solely on a second or third hand account of an individual's character.
  3. Grand Canyon is interesting. I believe they're the first for-profit Division I basketball program. Dan Majerle is their coach.
  4. The $400 million purse makes it look pretty alive
  5. It typically works in reverse order. You sustain success and then you're able to start landing those players on a consistent basis.
  6. And I'm saying that isn't how it works and much more goes into it then simply saying a player is local and has 1 good offer so we need to offer him.
  7. Lol. Dumb reasoning. So should we go ahead and offer every kid they do?
  8. I believe his only offers right now are from us and Wyoming. However, I imagine he'll receive more after the summer. To answer your question: yes. He'll likely have plenty of offers from "high major" school.
  9. Possibly so, but at the same time what weight does an offer carry if we offer every local kid early that might be good enough to play here?I'm not trying to say you're completely wrong or anything, but many on the board expect us to offer kids early simply because they're local.
  10. Giving out a ton of offers to local kids and then rescinding many of those later will hurt our local recruiting much worse than not offering certain kids early. The reality is that it is all about building relationships with the kids and their coaches. Not offering super earlier does not prevent that from happening.
  11. Reputable websites have written about how poor he is on defense. I'll try to find more about it.
  12. That last part simply isn't true at all. I like Jay, and he has stretches where he's dangerous on offense, but defensively he is one of the worst center fielders in the league. There's plenty of articles about this but here's one I found with a quick search: http://redcleatdiaries.com/2014/06/14/why-jon-jay-is-overrated/
  13. It's all about page views. Shaking up the top 10 or 20 gets people talking and looking, that's all
  14. The Coach Cal pitch definitely works with most kids. However, he'll need a better pitch than that if he wants to land Ja. Tatum.
  15. Get real. Decent is a loose term considering they had the nations leading scoring. I believe they're losing 4 of 5 starters, so I'm sure he will get plenty of playing time. However, I highly doubt he leads them back to the tournament.
  16. Giannis Antetokounmpo's (plays for the Bucks) little brother. Very interesting prospect. Still growing. He'll likely blow up over the summer.
  17. It just seemed like an unnecessary attempt to prop up your other favorite team while slighting SLU. Your qualifier doesn't mean .
  18. That's a stretch. He was a first team all-American and runner up for national player of the year.
  19. LOL. Yeah, because those 3 programs are dying to pair themselves with the powerhouse programs Mizzou and Illinois.
  20. I get it. It happens every year across the country. But you must have been ignoring everything about VCU these last few years if this surprises you one bit. These guys clearly chose VCU over some powerhouse schools because of Shaka Smart. He left and now they're exploring their options. It makes total sense and isn't surprising at all given the circumstances. That doesn't mean Wade won't bring in some good recruits to take their places. But I'll bet they won't be as highly touted as those 3 are.
  21. It was an unusual situation in general. Shaka was very much the face of their program, so it's no surprise these guys may want to explore other schools now that he's gone.
  22. You mean the schools that have multiple national titles? You do realize those schools had to win their first at some point, right? Butler was inches away from beating the almightly Duke in the finals a few years ago. Aiming to be a Gonzaga, Xavier, Butler, etc. is exactly what we should be doing. You can't be a Duke, UK, KU, etc. until you're one of the previously mentioned schools and have sustained success.
