  13. word around slu is that they are buying the del taco and are putting in a starbucks/panera/wings place/qdoba. ive heard all of these. well see if this is true. no factual evidence to back this up....so yeah.
  14. Couldnt listen. night class. ANyone care to give a quick synopsis. id also love to hear the KM story.
  15. My friend lives in the drake. If your looking for quality. Nino's is not the place you should be going to. However, he has a dollar menu. And of course this appeals to the college kids. You get 2 chicken sticks, 2 mozzarella sticks and 3 sauces for 1$. You can also get rib tips and a 7" pizza with one topping for a dollar. they are fantastic quality for the price...but i think most people on here arent looking for dollar menu prices.
  16. walk-ons are also prone to quitting during the season. On of the walk-ons in the Diener Years of Marquette quit during halftime of a game cause Crean yelled at him cause Diener was playing so poorly and Crean told him he wasnt working Diener hard enough during practice. Look, I am, like all others, a huge fan of walk-ons. Our very own RickMa was a walk-on for AL MCguire at Marquette. BUt there are just logistical reasons behind it. I stayed late after the game waiting for a friend to finish working at Chaifetz and Darren was near the end of the tunnel talking to his friends/family. He couldnt have seemed happier. Im sure he doesnt worry about it. The only time ive seen a walkon with a name on the jersey was a Senior Night at Marquette when all the Seniors got a framed jersey and the 4-year walkon got one as well. Thats it.
  17. im sure it has something to do with ordering the jerseys. Like JJ didnt have his name on his jersey for awhile cause he was a late signee. The walk ons make the team even later then that so you would have to order another jersey. I mean im nearly certain Fordham's walk-on didn't have a name on his jersey last night. I have never seen a walk-on with their name on the jersey.
  18. you dont really see walk-ons with there names on their jersey.
  19. As much as I like this current team and think they could go great places...our players our great. However, every time i looked at that bench tonight i was scared. I mean 9 Scholarship players, all playing more then 15 minutes tonight (which is good that our talent doesnt drop off too bad). However, if one of those guys gets knocked down were playing like the golden state warriors this year. When willie seemed to cringe after banging his knee i was scared. i like this team but i think they cannot afford another injury at all.
  20. i do agree that if willie and conklin could hit those shots somewhat consistently it would let them pull their defender out and open up cuts/passing lanes for other players
  21. the basic problem with shooting a 15-18 foot jumper, while it is probably the most open shot on most defenses, is that it provides very little return value. lets say your best shooter hits those shots at 45% which is pretty good in college basketball. You get 90 points for every 100 shots he takes. lets say your best 3 point shooter is shooting at the bills currently clip...about 32%. for every 100 shots our bills take they score 96 points on 3 pointers. that is the basic reason the mid-range game has fallen out of favor and there are very few mid-range specialists left. also you look at our bigs. willie is shooting 55%...so he scores about 110 points per 100 shots. ideally youd love willies percentage plus about a 35-38% from 3 point land. so about 105-115 points per 100 shots.
  22. that was my apprehension over posting this. but your a college player who is being watched by scouts. how do you not look yourself up? i know i would be checking this everyday.
  23. also note the players he is taken ahead of. its an impressive list.
