  1. It is more selective not only in numbers (students taken as an aggregate) but percentages (acceptance rate) as shown, thus the nature of being a private school. Mizzou is not a bad school, in fact it is a good school as shown by US News and World Report, but I would not say they are the same.
  2. I am not saying Mizzou is a bad school and I would never want to degrade your alma mater (you are on a Billiken board - you can't really expect a different reaction); however, they are not the same. There is a difference between the two schools. Let me ask you this: How many people do you know that got accepted to SLU but not Mizzou and then the other way around? That is likely the most significant, practical way to put it. I don't know the answer to this as I grew up in another state but comparing it to my state school I can predict the answer with some accuracy. By the way, just heard that we accepted a CBI bid and are playing against Indiana State at home on Tuesday.
  3. Number of enrolled students. I thought it was implied. What did you think it was - starting salaries after graduation? Acceptance rates are a little close but I wouldn't hang my hat on stating the two schools are equivalent. There is also a 1.5 ACT point differential which I would say is a little close but significantly different.
  4. Mizzou v. SLU academics Pretty objective. Mizzou's acceptance rate is 85.1% and SLU's acceptance rate is 72.4%. Mizzou's has 30K+ and SLU has 12K+. Pretty simple math, even for a suspected, Mizzou-educated fool like yourself.
  5. You really are dumb. You are making cheesycow look bad. I would be pissed at you if I were him.
  6. This is hilarious! I think a regular, Billikens.com poster created another username as a distraction. This is allowing us to become cathartic given the screwing we just took from the NIT committee. Brilliant!
  7. It is too bad that guys like MIZZOU Mike make Mizzou grads looks bad. Interesting behavior.
  8. I generally agree and enjoy reading your posts, Taj79; however, it really bugs me when people think that Billiken knowledge is directly proportional to the number of posts submitted on billikens.com. I know several people that read this board and don't post and others that post infrequently that have one degree of separation from the program and know a whole lot more than those with a bunch of posts. Most people that have a bunch of posts have a resume that consists of 95% filler or entertainment. Starting your post with quoting the number of posts someone has to discredit their statement is ridiculous. Just a suggestion.
  9. I could not be more pissed off right now! What a joke....
  10. That was an impressive implosion by the Flyers. By the way, Gregory is a terrible coach.
  11. You make a good point. Let's take this for what it is worth: national attention we have not seen in a long time. Although I disagree with Lunardi's attire, hair-do, and statement about the Billikens and the their chances in the A-10 tourney, I do agree with the statement that we needed RM to bring us to our current level. I think and hope we will see RM's magic in AC this coming weekend. I think an experienced, tournament-ready coach will give us an advantage in AC, unlike the past. Being a Billikens fan is starting to payoff. Wow, it is great to see our guys being mentioned on ESPN; not to mention how nice it is to beat Dayton - twice!
  12. I think if the Billikens can keep a team to under 20 points then a student rush is warranted. That was not listed as acceptable and should be.
  13. Bill Cosby will be there. I heard it from a very reliable source! A big head should be made to go with Steve Urkel's big head.
  14. What a terrible analogy! I cannot believe you used this scenario to back up your opinion. A win in baseball is not contingent upon time. Your comparison is weak. Let me help you out. It is the fourth quarter and the defensive team is down by five touchdowns with 10 seconds on the clock. The offensive team is going to take a knee. The ball is snapped; the linebacker barrels through the line and sacks the QB and recovers the fumble. The LB then proceeds to flip into the endzone for a TD. Is this being competitive? Should the QB have protected the ball better? Your thought process is a joke. By the way, the rest of the team did cease to continue to compete. Don't you think if they were competing they would have been fouling us (especially considering we shoot terribly from the FT line)? Sorry but I think you will have to take a seat on this one.
  15. When did dlarry say that you had to pick between a winning coach or a coach's show? If you really need a coach's show to be a content and happy fan then something is wrong. If RM had a coach's show, you would be the first to boycott the show because you don't think he is a "good person". Here is a serious question for you, Roy: Have you been to any of the tip-off meetings this year? If so, how many have you attended?
  16. Agreed. Exactly! That is why RM having top 50 recruits mentioning SLU really doesn't mean as much as it would with other coaches, the likes of Romar, et al. RM finds talent and knows they will gel with his system. He is effective in this regard and can coach the hell out of these guys. These other coaches need the talent to compensate for the disparity in coaching expertise. Romar is no slouch, but RM is in on a different level altogether.
  17. Don't take his word for it. By the way, do you think slamming SLU's HC on a message board is being a good ambassador? What about slamming RM to people that ask about him? RM runs a very clean program, cares for his players and is a winner. Most people should be thrilled. I guess a few have other priorities. RM will be the best thing that every happened to this program (second to Dr. Chaifetz) and a few people will bask in the glory in the years to come but will still slap him in the face. What fools!
  18. I know, I know! That is the million dollar question for B_roy. He will just tell you that RM screwed all of Brad's mediocre-to-level-NAIA recruits when he took over and was disagreeable with the Lisch family. I really hope he realizes that he was very nice in giving Daniel a scholarship and connecting Kevin to the team in Perth. He will also tell you that he "bad mouths" SLU and should shut his fat mouth. Not to mention he is also a "blockhead". Also, the players are a pawn in his scheme to make travel more convenient for RM, personally. B_roy does not know Majerus on a personal level. He doesn't know if he is a good person. He is just speculating. His opinion will never change. He is just riding this out until the next puppy dogs and ice cream coach comes around and sinks the program.
  19. I am just playing with you. I know what you meant. A little Sunday humor after a win. Go Bills!
  20. What was the strength and quantity? Did they authorize any refills? Generic OK?
  21. This is the dumbest thing I have heard all month (fortunately for you February is a short month). You do realize that he went to the finals in THE tournament (and has danced 11 times). That is like saying RM has never won a street race on Hwy. 40 so he has to prove himself and win a street race; but, by the way he came in second in the Indy 500 but that doesn't mean a thing. You are crazy!
  22. OSFS - Oblates of St. Francis de Sales They run a school in PA called DeSales University and a few high schools as well.
  23. Nice to see Cassity taking it to the hoop which in turn will leave Ellis open more.
  24. How exactly has RM "bad mouthed" SLU, itself. I have heard him talk about how the A-10 is not right for SLU but I have not heard him bash SLU directly. I can think of a few coaches with bizarro practice behavior with articles in print; Bobby Knight for one. Great coach but had a different way of handling things. He was pretty successful with a pretty decent following. I can verify this as I am a born-and-raised Hoosier, not to mention a graduate of IU.
