  1. Well, the next dead period begins tomorrow, anyone hearing anything on Dandridge? I’m starting to think 3star’s option that I know I had not considered is part of the decision (do I even want to go to a new school to play another year of college basketball?).
  2. Did anyone else receive that mailer recently for the project? It was about a dozen of those kind of computer generated images of the new facility. Probably the worst done mailer I’ve ever received from the school. There was no writing just one image on each page with nothing on the other side. It was like a grade school project. Reminded me of the Crews era recruiting graphics.
  3. I had no idea about the pregame, it’s funny you picked up on that on your way to the game (or sad haha). For sure, that team was certainly playing like a tournament level team by the end of the season. Frustrating it took us so long to get going, that was a tough team with a true star in Marque.
  4. I certainly do not. There have been some articles that laid out a range of what guys were likely earning thru NIL and assuming programs like Michigan and West Virginia were in fact looking at him as a backup and us looking at him as a starter, I just assumed he would be receiving six figure offers. I obviously have no way of knowing. I am not finding the article that I remembered reading that showed the range (by role too with regards to starter vs. role player vs. bench player), so me saying $100k is now completely baseless.
  5. Sure and if that is the decision he makes I am sure it will be reported by someone. While I expected more players to move on after 4 years when the free COVID year was announced, NIL has significantly changed that since Dandridge is likely looking at making six figures in that graduate season. Doesn't mean he won't decide to move on with his life, but something that has certainly become a factor in the decision making process.
  6. The odd thing is that as far as I am aware there is no news/rumors about a decision coming. I haven't seen anything about him taking other visits either, but I suppose he still has a few more days to do so. So there hasn't been any news that makes me think we are out of this one. So strange.
  7. Losing to Tennessee-Martin my sophomore year of college was a tough way to start a season.
  8. Very strange. The next dead period begins on Sunday and runs through the 20th, so it would seem like he would make an announcement in the next handful of days, but who the heck knows!
  9. Someone posted the other week about the current dead period running through today, so Dandridge likely taking a visit or visits (Michigan or West Virginia presumably) this weekend/next week. With the next dead period running from August 6th-20th, the next week will seemingly be his last opportunity to visit schools before the school year starts. This has been a strange one.
  10. Delete, I’m now confused on the exact number. While you can have several walk-ons there is a limit as to how many guys you can dress on game day (it looks like that number is 16 per the above).
  11. Is Dandridge planning on visiting Michigan this weekend (looks like the quiet period runs from Friday, July 28th through Saturday, August 5th)? Not knowing the team's schedule, I would imagine they are only around a few more weeks before heading home for a bit before returning for the fall semester, so it would seem unlikely he spends much time at his future home before the fall semester.
  12. I don't think anyone said otherwise. I just find it amusing to think that Brad Beal getting up shots with his trainer one night at Simon Rec is an opportunity to get him to contribute money to SLU when he has no ties to the school (I suppose Tatum does have ties to the school through his mom and dad, but still can't imagine him giving to the school). Again, I am all for someone within the program posting a video of local NBA players on campus, but to pretend it is some big recruiting tool or chance to get them to contribute financially to the program seems like quite the reach. Although, if you allow his family to be the architect on the project, maybe you can lock him in....
  13. In fairness those that call the shots on Billiken athletics could use some help. I don’t think they understand the current landscape. I’m a loser with little life outside of college athletics, I’d be willing to keep them updated on the lay of the land. You have to know what you don’t know.
  14. Let me know when Jayson gives to SLU, would love to know. It would be rather surprising to see an athlete give to a school they didn’t attend. Whoever strikes that deal deserves quite the pay raise.
  15. Rex went to SLU. What athletes are giving to schools they didn’t play at?
  16. Do folks often give money to private Universities that they have no affiliation with? While I largely disagree with the initial post (I think highlighting Jordan Goodwin is the only thing I agree with), I disagree even more with folks thinking Beal or Tatum working out with their trainer at Simon Rec one time on a random Thursday night is somehow going to help with recruiting or raising money. I assume neither spend a whole lot of time in STL at this point as I think those guys are typically working out with Drew out in LA. It’s all nothing. Just like Jordan being on campus to watch his sons and shoot around in the rec a few summers back when I was in college while cool had no impact on the program. I forgot to ask him to give money to the program though, so that’s on me and a missed opportunity. I do love the thought of a random athletic department minion going up to Beal and asking him if he would be interested in contributing to the program.
  17. That’s actually a request from the administration to remind those in the south that Mizzou is still a member and yes, remember to send us that $50 million check.
  18. Not surprising a Billiken fan message board would have folks who still consume local news. Hope your breakfast at the Gatesworth was good this morning.
  19. From a recruiting perspective it is meaningless, let’s be honest. Jordan Goodwin taking advantage of his opportunities with Washington and now Phoenix would not be. Hopefully next summer we will be showcasing a NBA champ and former Billiken being back on campus.
  20. I had no idea! But we won’t bring that story up again until after his twin sons commit to a college! I had idea the commitment story nor that he was that level of recruit.
  21. I think I’m onboard with this becoming a thing this winter. But those who aren’t drinking can’t weigh in on our aggressive swings positive and negative. Maybe a game thread and a drunk game thread where we just let it rip and we’ll all be best friends at the end of every game. I’m super pumped for the season! Billiken basketball and furthering my alcoholism!
  22. Torch, please erase Jahidi from your post! Jahidi is the man and his twin boys with scholarship offers as soon to be sophomores are similarly great! Chaminade guys have to stick together (obviously Jahidi was not, but the twins are). I like that it feels like some folks on here have had some drinks, makes for lively discussion. As my wife’s favorite uncle says (and he is 70+ still living that life in FL), drunk talk don’t count.
  23. That is my thought as well. It feels like he is comfortable with us being his safety school while he holds out to see whether any of the big boys throw an offer his way. It has felt that way since he visited back in early June. Such an odd one, wasn't there an initial narrowed down list where we weren't even listed?
