  1. The students were GREAT tonight! IMO, having a rowdy, vociferous , HUGE blue crew group made a big difference. My only wish would be that even half of that showed up for a normal game. They're the ones that add electricity to an arena (and our fantastic band - but, they're a given at every game. Thanks!). Us older folks can't hold a candle to a bunch of 20 year olds when it comes to generating excitement.
  2. Thanks for the positive post. It keeps it all in perspective. Looking forward to cheering them on tomorrow!
  3. I would add that Moser said Rickma doesn't let anybody - from managers, to players, to assistant coaches - get away with anything. He see everything. If you miss a floor location by just two inches, he'll see it and correct it.
  4. I don't profess to know a lot about basketball, but one thing I did notice about TL last night, was a time in the second half that he had a wide open three from the wing and hesitated - a long time -before taking the shot. The lane was available for what he does so well - drive the hoop. His indecision cost him and he fired up an ugly shot, barely drawing iron. Majerus, on a subsequent timeout, appeared to chew him out regarding the play. From that point on, we saw the Tommie of old. Driving the lane, scoring at will, creating for everyone else...basically, taking over the game! My hope is that the "light" was turned on for TL on how he's supposed to fit in with this offense and, hopefully soon, it will for Kevin, too.
  5. A couple of things encouraged me about yesterday's game: D. Polk (aside from the missed late free throw) looked the part of an effective point guard. His overall defense, knocking down an outside shot, quickness to the hole and general floor game left me with the impression that he's improving. Luke was Luke - his overall solid game was there and was particularly impressed with the job he did on Artis Gant. It was pretty obvious that Gant's game is to take people off the dribble and get to the basket. Luke played him very tough and forced him into some misses and traveling calls. It was a different story when Luke was out of the game. Danny really struggled against him (although, I'd guess that most people would). Other than that, on offense they were working themselves for open looks - they just weren't falling. It's a work in progress and, with patience, Coach will have this team peaking by tournament time.
  6. Thanks for the great detailed report! The excitement builds and I just hope I have enough Billiken points to get a good seat inside Chaifetz! Welcome, too, to BT and his family. It was fun to read their posts the day Brett verbally committed. Family comments, such as those we get from TDell and Griffster, are always insightful of the process and a great read.
  7. AJ... I'm not a long-time booster like you or Roy, but I have been a supporter/season ticket holder since the Romar days. I agree with your thoughts completely. Biondi has torpedoed the program. I would not blame CL to bolt... I would not blame any of the kids if they bolt. What recruit would ever want to come here? Who would ever want to be an AD under Biondi? What coach would want to come into this embarassment? I wouldn't want my kids attending a Biondi-led SLU. This whole thing is a joke and unless a timely and miraculous save is made...I've spent my last penny on the Biondi Farce.
  8. I was in the camp of giving Coach a last chance at a good recruiting class. Now, after this bizarre chain of events, CL and Biondi are on my hotseat. Now they are going to have to come through big time or outa here as a Billiken fan and season ticket holder. And they better start communicating the reasons, the honest reasons behind this farce!
