  1. Sure we could hit the jackpot but it is highly unlikely. What top notch up and comer turn around artist head coach have we hired the last 40 years? That would be much more possible if we get into the Big East.
  2. That was a bad loss, but it is not time to panic. We still can win 16-17-18 and show progress with a still very young team (3 freshmen + 6 sophs). Many of you said that would be nice. Now the same people panic after a bad loss. Sure, if we look that bad the rest of the year, it is time for Crews to move on. But the ugly comments from mostly the "usual suspects" are uncalled for... at this point. I like the way the same people place the blame mostly all on Crews and Jolly. I wonder about Yarbrough, with all that talent he has not shown much at all, some on here last year were worried about him leaving early for the NBA. And I expected more of Roby. And Bartley, though he is behind a bit with the injury. Everyone just slimes away at Crews and Jolly. Crawford has stepped up. So has Reynolds. So have a few others to a lesser extent. I agree if we look that bad a lot this year, then it's time for a change. But I also think most of you are mistaken that we will then get a superstar up and coming coach to get us to the dance over and over and that he'll stay for a decade. Again, Majerus was a freak of luck, a gift, a magical occurrance. NEVER PANIC.
  3. Lil guy, yes, Budweiser is brewed 5 miles from the Fetz, sure, but not for long. The bastards from Brazil will shut it all down, it's just a matter of time. Cost of goods in the multiple story manufacturing process is problematic. Profits go to a foo foo overseas Brazilian dominated company. St. Louis owned Kraftig tastes very, very good.
  4. Really? I disagree. Curious... would we go dancing with our current BIGS with Lisch and Liddell?
  5. Nonsense. One BIG? You do not get it. We had 5-6 strong BIGs for 3 years = to the dance. Sure, Kwamain, JJ, and MM were damn good. But if they were here we'd be better but not good enough. If Loe-Ellis-Conk-Evans-Remeken-Glaze were here with our current guards, we go dancing.
  6. Yes I know about Shabazz et al but in our situation, our level, we need deep, quality BIGS the most to succeed (defined as: get to the dance). Give me a break, what, Kentucky doesn't have great BIGS? Michigan State? Final Four teams don't mostly have good-great / deep BIGS?
  7. The pool for PG's for mid majors is plentiful, trying to find good BIGS is much more difficult. If we had Loe-Ellis-Conk-Evans-Remekun-Glaze our guards would look 1000% better. Think about our history, the last 40 years, all the excellent guards... then RM gets Loe-Ellis-Conk-Evans-Remekun-Glaze and we go to the NCAA's 3 years.
  8. PG's are easy, they are all over. BIGS are what matters for mid majors, good ones are tough to find and take longer to develop: Loe, Ellis, Conklin, Evans, Remekun, and Glaze took us to the dance, they were the reason we got to the next level (+ HOF coach Majerus).
  9. No. It is a foo foo Brazilian beer. Drink Kraftig, St. Louis owned.
  10. Agree. It is pathetic that several gutless posters continuously berate the kid. They have no class at all, trashing a fellow Billiken who is out there fighting for the team as best he can. And, remember, Jolly might contribute significantly some day...
  11. Louisville is undefeated this year. A top 20-25 team. One of the most unique defenses in NCAA, one of the best. Sure it's not apples to apples, but I'm pointing out that negative 24/7 cynics like you should appreciate our team more.
  12. The seasoned, mature team with Jett, Loe, McCall, & Evans as seniors lost to Louisville by 15.Our young team this year with one transfer senior and only two juniors lost to Louisville by 20. These comparisons are not completely valid, of course, it is not that simple. We had our usual crybaby whiner posters throw hissy fits after this years Louisville game. IMO we still have reason to be somewhat optimistic, we have good potential with the 6 sophs and 3 freshmen recruits, all 3* and 2*. We need one or two young bigs to grow/mature/step up at the 5 and 4. We shall see.
  13. Nice try. I'll attack dweeb posters on a personal level who are out of line but never, ever, one of our players. Do you understand the difference?
  14. Big win last night. A long way to go but we have hope that several players have improved to a major extent and others to a significant extent, as we positive posters suggested would happen. All those freshmen and lightly seasoned sophomores + Ash learned the hard way last year. Louisville is an unfortunate challenge for us, with their relentless style, but now I am back to 18 wins. A-10 isn't that tough, we'll get some wins. Things are looking better. (those of you taking personal, hurtful attacks on Jolly on the other thread make me sick, I guess it makes you feel like a big man)
  15. Some improvement, yes. We have plenty of #2's and #3's, hurting at the #5, need much better at the #1 and lastly a bit at the #4. Ash has looked good, so has Crawford and though inconsistent, Yarbrough. MR has impressed some but I do not know if he can take it to the hoop when the competition stiffens, and he has no jump shot; he plays good D, that helps. Reggie has been a good inside player. Tactically, Crawford and Bartley need to be set up to shoot 3's and Reggie has to be fed inside and score consistently for us to really improve and Yarbrough needs to be more consistent. Roby and / or Bartley need to to step up and become our PG's which will also ease the logjam at the # 2. Bigs are the real problem, I had hoped one of our #5 sophs would show real improvement or Neufeld would step in, but so far, nope. They need to play the post more and not linger on the perimeter as much. At least they have 15 fouls to give and can occupy some space around the rim, get some reb's. I said 18 wins, at this point I'd say the number looks more like 16, though the kids might gel and some might step up, it is still so very early.
  16. I agree with your position in this matter.
  17. We showed some real improvement. Whether they will continue to develop-evolve-gel and truly play as a team, remains to be seen. The game provided hope that the kids can get to .500 or better, I still think 18 wins is possible.
  18. It is fierce compared to the silly ass Grinch or the little butterball Buddah. The two tone face is to depict the fierce character, Braveheart. The new Billiken smiles while he kicks your ass. I like it.
  19. Nice 17 point win, wow, scored 85 points to boot. Undefeated with tougher looking mascot. Crawford, Reggie, Ash looked good, a few others.
  20. Moytoy, 15 minutes into the season and your are throwing in the towel.
