Ok almighty skip, explain to me how Brad has not done a below average job of recruiting this year when WE HAVE NO RECRUITING CLASS! Basically 1/3 of our recruiting class is gone from last year, so that's not really that much of a help, we have no post presence for the future to speak of (at least nothing to feel good about yet), and once again, WE HAVE NO RECRUITING CLASS this year. Please explain, in your infinite wisdom, how I am "just plain wrong" in stating that he's done a below average job when in fact, he's landed noone.

I will assume you were drunk when you posted this response at 1:07AM vtime. how in anyway have i shown that I don't support the program. lay off the vodka mixed blue koolaid and show me one post where i have stated i am not supporter of the program. thats what i thought.

Just checked out the Top 25 rankings and Dayton was the only A-10 team to get any votes for either poll, with a grand total of 2. How does anyone expect this league to be a 2 bid conference with the futility of non-conference play? I suppose if Dayton or Xavier go on a run, they could possibly make it as an at large team. I know the common response will be "STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE, ITS STILL EARLY!!" but come on, noone has done it thus far, and does anyone see the A-10 conference schedule swaying any tourny selection committee minds? A-10 teams have been blown the heck out in nearly, if not every, Top 25 game they've played. From a purely objective view, I hate to say it but I don't really see any way we make the tourny without winning the A-10, its just too weak of a conference. If we had a 9-3 record goin into C-USA play, I would definitly say we would have a shot at this point, but not the A-10. We have no chance at any more marquee wins, we have 2 blow out losses to top 25 teams, and play in one of the lower mid-major conferences. Someone please show me a way to make the tourny now that makes sense.

I blame noone but the player if he can't hack in academically at SLU. Its not a tough school if you are taking general business or communications (it was farrrrrrrrrrrrrr easier then high school). And the moron who said SLU has 10% drop out rate is just stupid. A large portion of those who leave, transfer to other schools, not drop out. Its very hard for me to feel sorry for someone getting a full-ride to go to a fabulous academic school, for free, and not even be able to hack it one semester. HD was a long way away from seeing extended time on the court, but his atheleticism would have been nice to have. It's gonna suck not having him, but he has noone to blame but himself. If he couldn't get admitted to SC, that should have said something to Brad right away. HD, you have noone to blame but yourself.

Who has started the chant to fire Brad mr. big bad Vtime? Have you been sipping the blue kool-aid long into the night? He's just done a below average job of recruiting is any of us posters are saying. If we are relying on a solid recruiting class only once every 3 years (2005, 2008,. etc), that's not necessarly a good thing. All we are saying is we really need to do a better job of recruiting. Get with it vtime.

Why does Billikan take warranted criticism of SLU program so personally? Why does he think that we should confront players face to face? Maybe I'm the only one on this board who doesn't interact on a daily basis with players and coaches, and maybe I'm the only one that is just a fan who just wants to see us do well and has serious concerns. Our recruiting has been TERRIBLE for next year, face that fact Billikan, it is scary to think of next year. Drew brought up a point and we are debating the topic. Everyone on this board has to realize that what Billikan says is stated with blinders on, so take that into account when you read what he writes.

I agree with almost everything said on this thread. Drew, that was an excellent point about Mo St. RPI with no marquee wins. There's no way our RPI is as high as their's was last year, and our "marquee win" was MO St. We DESPERATLY need to win the Mississippi game for RPI purposes. Desperatly. The A-10 is really going to hurt us this year so it woul have been nice to get one big win before heading into conference play. We should play well, but realisitically, even if we finish with 7 losses, with no big wins (which means practically running the table in the a-10), doesn't get us in. Even if Mississippi is just an average SEC team, it will still look fabulous to the selection committee, imo.

Marquette was the closest thing we've ever had to a rival and now they're gone. I agree we need one to spice things up at the ol Scott and I'm upset we don't have one.

SLufanskip, I know this doesn't happen often, but I agree completly with you here. I was embaresssed by the silence of this game. When I was yelling, I felt like the players could here me it was that quite. I was yellin my ass of, but noone around us cared.

At least we know where we stand. We aren't even close. Good effort the first half. Great game by IV. Good effort by Luke. But we really have no chance against an upper eschelon team. This game showed it, Texasm A&M showed it, Southern Ill showed it. Hopefully we win the A-10. We'vve got a solid squad, capable of positive movement. But honestly, we aren't even close to an ACC caliber team.
