  1. I don't remember the players names, but it occured under both Grawer and Spoon. The kid was a sophomore when it happened under Grawer and the other kid was a junoir under Spoon. I don't remember the whole scenario in either case, but the Grawer kid got his one year when somebody Grawer signed couldn't get into school. It was a one year deal in both cases.
  2. This is the same as awarding a scholarship to a walk on when one has become open.
  3. Eckerle knew the deal going in. He was already enrolled at SLU before he was awarded the scholarship.
  4. With the class of 2008 after a year at prep school. I really hope RM hasn't written Powell off. I think he is going to be a really good player for somebody and I think that somebody will be MU right now.
  5. I think Brandenburg is headed to Wisconsin. I think MU will do ok even with out him and Suggs. I think John is the perfect kind of player for the MA system and I think they end up with Powell, who is a perfect fit for that system.
  6. Some St louis kids have done very well there over the years. I just hope those kids all chose SLU from now on.
  7. Hey, it is their board and they can take shots at SLU all day if they want to. I think both schools are going to end up with pretty damn good recruiting classes. If either lands Suggs they will have a great class. Of course I think Suggs should head to SLU.
  8. That will be their response too. That or the SLU is cheating excuse. Book it, those excuses are already be prepared by certain members of the Tiger fan base.
  9. For his age. Not as old as Greg Oden, but old none the less.
  10. He will get killed as a freshman. Look at the kid. He is built like a high school freshman. He does not currently have the body to play major minutes. He does not have the frame to put those kind pounds and muscle on quickly. He doesn't have the quick release or first step that Teddy Dupay had that allowed him to use his shooting ability against bigger and stronger defenders. His size will make him a complete liability on defense coming in. That doesn't mean he couldn't be a very key player by his third season. D-1 college ball is TOTALLY a different game than high school. This is a kid you sign for what he can become.
  11. But lets be honest about what he is. He IS NOT Teddy Dupay amd he IS NOT a starter as a freshman.
  12. Hickman Mills and Shawnee Mission, KS are about a 40 minute drive from each other. Think of it as Belleville and Fenton.
  13. Hickman Mills is not local, but I agree with you about it being a good pick-up.
  14. I don't think anyone thinks of Shawnee Mission, KS as local V.
  15. Wisconson is the front runner now and OJ's post earlier kind of leaves that impression too.
  16. This will hopefully start to make the other kids feel that they might miss the boat if they don't commit now. It sure is nice not to feel like the fall back plan for once.
  17. Scout has him at three stars. Mu and msu were recruiting him. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=2655570
  18. I like that. I guess this means the ship has sailed on Brandenburg. Hope he enjoys his college career outside of the area.
  19. Has anyone bothered to look at the kid's body? There is no way he is big enough to come in and start right away. This kid might end up being a player after a year or two, but he needs to put some major time in the weight room before he will be able to contribute anything more than a few minutes here or there. Knowing that we have four or five scholarships still to be filled next year I don't mind the fact that we are recruiting this kid, but he should not be one of the top three targets on our list.
  20. I wonder if Suggs has seen this? http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/10216977
  21. How in the hell would that be good news? If I would take a guess And it is only a guess, Mitchell will be giving SLU a verbal before the end of the week.

  23. We shouldn't be hoping to maybe compete with those guys. We should start hoping to achieve something better than MU has ever had.
  24. Nobody. I did was point out our coaches track record and compared it to the overrated history of what some people wrongly think was some kind of power program. SLU has done nothing of note for over a half century, but our coach has a track record. That is reason enough to be excited, at least for me.
