  1. This thread is a fascinating read. We seem almost universally skeptical of the initial hire and by late 2017 we're eating crow and by 2018 we're full speed ahead. Should've trusted our initial instincts.
  2. Man, I was dead wrong. I expected multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. (And stronger recruiting.) (I was a lot meaner back in 2016, geez.)
  3. It's not just one student, it's like 5 of them right behind the announcers. Loyola apparently got the dollar store headsets for the ESPN+ crew and the mics are picking up everything in the front row behind them. Loyola fans are in our Twitter mentions saying it's been a problem for a long time and no one has made an effort to fix it. I imagine that if we're this sick of it after one game, they're losing their minds by now.
  4. That other burner is back in a different handle today. As if Twitter couldn't get any more entertaining today after the Jeff Goodman/Rob Dauster nonsense.
  5. Yeah, shooting <30% in back-to-back quarters against a 17-4 team is not ideal.
  6. Thought SLU was shooting its way out of the game with a brutal second quarter offensively, but they forced 10 turnovers and are only down 3 at halftime.
  7. When SLU won 11 of 12 last season, Richmond was the sole loss in that stretch. Would be cool to get them back, especially given that they're stronger this season. Took 2 minutes, but Richmond was first on the board in the second quarter with a 3. SLU missing easy layups. Grrrrr.
  8. Maybe the one with 35.3 seconds left? He hits his hands together a few times and messes with his hair. Looks frustrated.
  9. Parker played limited minutes tonight so if anyone was frustrated, it was him (or Medley). But I just went back to the final media timeout in the broadcast and I didn't see what you're talking about. He's visible behind the huddle sitting down and back up on the bench. Just curious exactly when this happened.
  10. I don't begrudge this strategy, honestly. Pitino teams do it, too. I've watched SLU lose to these teams too often to think it isn't right.
  11. We were down by more than this to a much better St. Joe's team. This Davidson team is bad. The worst I've seen since they joined the league 10 years ago. It's not over. (But if we lose, this is a BAD loss.)
  12. Looks a lot like Dave Franco in the face.
  13. I don't think she's been paired with Troy yet. Scott has been helpful for her so far.
  14. They make 8.3 3-pointers per game. They attempt 24.8 per game. Their .334 3-point shooting percentage is good for 208th in the nation. Not very good by Davidson standards.
  15. Agreed. Taking in all the pics, my guess is this is from the 2000s and is from a club team.
  16. Sorry, I'm a few days late on the new offer. Brody Robinson - PG, 5-10, 160 - Houston, TX (Garden City Community College, KS) - Twitter: @brodyrobinson_ Offers: Saint Louis, Fresno State, Oakland, IUPUI, Tennessee Tech, Texas-Arlington. Interest: Ole Miss, Murray State, Missouri State, Illinois State, Liberty, Northern Kentucky, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Elon, Iona, Louisiana, South Dakota, Western Illinois, Oral Roberts, New Mexico State, Tarleton State, Stetson, South Carolina-Upstate, UMass-Lowell, Northwestern State. Latest News: Robinson received an offer from IUPUI. (1/20/24) Scouting Report: Robinson is an undersized playmaking guard with high-level scoring ability. He takes care of the ball, with an assist/turnover ratio above 3x. He rebounds his position well despite his size. He's a volume shooter with the ability to heat up and take over a game, and he's excellent from the FT line. He graduated from Houston Christian HS before playing his freshman year at Chattanooga and sophomore year at GCCC.
  17. Looks like I'm #5, behind Roy, Brian, slu72, and moytoy12.
  18. The potential is certainly there for either outcome. Dayton shoots extremely well from 3 and our perimeter defense is shaky. They have DaRon Holmes as the big x-factor. Hargrove gives up a ton of size on him and he could get Ezewiro fouled out. They also don't turn it over much and we don't force turnovers at all. So their strengths align pretty well with some obvious vulnerabilities for SLU. But they also play a low possession style and don't generally run away with games. They've turned it over a lot more in 3 A10 games than in the non-conference schedule. They haven't really blown anyone out since Oakland last month. I don't see us winning this game but we have the potential to hang around a lot longer than they would want. I hope that someone on our bench realizes we're actually a top-20 team in three point percentage and we can create more looks from outside and keep this game competitive. The start of this game matters a lot. We can't get into a big hole. This team has been awful outside of Chaifetz and this will be the toughest environment yet.
  19. If he were to ever become SLU's head coach, it would be as if you had told AI to generate a SLU headline based on information solely from this message board. I assume Billikens.com would self destruct in this scenario.
  20. SLU, VCU, and Dayton commit the most resources to their programs in the A10. These three programs should more or less be locks for top-4 spots every season. Two of them pretty much are - I think both VCU and Dayton have missed the top 4 twice in the past decade. SLU has made it 4 times, not winning the conference outright since 2014. It's just not good enough. Regarding the Wiz's line of 18 points, the most likely way we get there is to leave the starters in when we're down 25-30 and close the gap with a few late 3-pointers. We've done it a few times already this season.
  21. Yeah, we've been trying to get in on that local public television money.
