  1. This is the third different school I've heard rumored as a transfer destination for the White brothers. I don't get it, either.
  2. Iowa did it for us. Bud-are-uh DEE-uh-KEY-tay is how they put it.
  3. Pulling this straight out of the @Midtown Madness show notes from a few weeks ago: Seniors/Grad Transfers: Isabel Tillett, Alexia Nelson, Zya Nugent Juniors: Jada Tiggett, Marilena Triantafylli Sophomores: Hannah Wallace, Mia Bergstrom Freshmen: Jahda Denis, Jasaiyah Wallace, Zhykera Brown, Alyssa Koerkenmeier Returning Points Per Game: 25.5 (7 players) - 3.6 PPG per player This includes two 2023-2024 seasons from players who sat out this past season. Previous schools: 3 from SLU, West Virginia, Syracuse, Towson, NC Central. There are 4 scholarships left to give. Tillett said she might only use 2. The points have to come from somewhere, I guess. I'm willing to see adding a soccer player who hasn't played basketball in a while as a walk-on as a fun story to track this season. I would feel a lot better about it if I didn't look at this roster and think they need all the help they can get.
  4. Is a walk-on from the soccer team what this is in reference to, or is there another scholarship player coming?

Latest News: Pettway listed SLU as one of the schools currently recruiting him. Towson is the latest to offer. (5/25/25) Scouting Report: Pettway is a skilled, confident guard with playmaking and 3-level scoring ability off the dribble. He's crafty and plays with poise and pace. Originally a 2025 recruit, he decided to take a prep year and reclassify as a 2026 player. He played his first three high school seasons at the MacDuffie School in Massachusetts.
  8. New offer: Terrence Hayes, Jr. - G, 6-2, 170 - Gary, IN (Century) - AAU: Indiana Elite (Adidas 3SSB) - Twitter: @THayesJr10 Offers: Saint Louis, Nevada, Valparaiso, Northern Illinois, IU-Indianapolis, Youngstown State. 9. Seems like it is not happening.

  11. As @Box and Won said, SLU tried to have the buildings demolished. It's relevant to the story. If SLU can dish it out, SLU can take it.
  12. I didn't see that as a "shot at SLU" as much as reporting what preservationists were saying about SLU. Their quotes and impressions about SLU are pretty fair, given the history of its expansion in Midtown. Like it or not, SLU did get rid of a significant residential neighborhood. Since then, the school has torn down a lot of buildings for surface parking lots that go mostly unused. There's nothing even remotely out of bounds said about SLU in this brief article.
  13. The internet definitely needs more of this content.
  14. Connoyer is an interesting case of how long to give a coach. The program started in 1978 and never really won anything. From the mid-90s to 2000, they were winning single-digit games per year. Jim Molloy finally started to turn it around in his fifth season but went from a few >20 win teams to a few straight <20 win teams. John Conway was a little under .500 over his four seasons. Then Connoyer took over, won 29 in her first season, had a couple sub-.500 seasons, won 30 games in 2014, a program record 36 games in 2015 - and then they fell back off again. A few .500ish seasons before four straight years of pretty bad records. In 2023 she won 30 games again, went 20-5 in the A10, and got bounced in the conference tournament despite the 1-seed. In 2024, they won 31 games overall and were runners up in the conference tournament. Now they finally won the thing. She could've been fired at any time from 2019-2022 and it would've looked perfectly reasonable. There's even a strong case that she could've been fired in 2017 or 2018 after being unable to sustain the new heights she brought the program to. Coming off the record 36 wins in 2015, she didn't have another winning season until 2023 - that's a looooong leash. Now she's put together the best 3-season stretch in program history. This is a 10-team league (soon to be 9) and it took her 15 years to win it. Would another coach have done it sooner? Or would we still have a program that is approaching its 50th anniversary and no NCAA Tournament appearance to show for it? I know the circumstances are different everywhere - institution, facilities, budget, conference, etc. - but here we have a coach given a decade and a half under minimal pressure. What's the right amount of time to give someone? Can you imagine giving a MBB coach that long? Or either of our soccer coaches? No definitive answer here. Just food for thought without defaulting to the argument over whether the AD got it right or wrong.

  16. ^2 more offers today, too. I'll have bios posted later tonight.
  17. The top of the A10 has been very, very good in field hockey lately, but UMass is leaving and that's a big loss. It's now a 7-team league with one of the perennial top performers out. You could probably get to the top 3-4 with a modest commitment of ongoing resources. The facility is a huge first step.
  18. The win streaks are now 16 in conference, 15 overall after SLU beat UMass 3-1 in game 1 today. Abby Mallo just set the single season HR record (17). A sweep this weekend clinches the regular season title. A series win *might* do it, depending on what happens with Dayton this weekend. Rainouts earlier this season mean that there's an uneven number of games played so the 1-seed will be determined by win percentage. Game 2 coming up. Game 3 probably tomorrow, maybe Sunday depending on weather.
  19. I'm just saying that UConn will be a favorite next season.
  20. Yes, I'd say so. And now he has a legit shot at a national title.
  21. Maybe wait until we get our matchups to be this upset about it.
  22. You beat me to this point. There's still time and we still have room on the roster for players who address this team's issues from last season but the two additions so far do virtually nothing to solve the biggest problems. I don't get it. And to address a point in your previous post, if they're just going to try to speed teams up and force turnovers and basically slop up the game again as a primary strategy, I'm not sure how much more I can watch.
  23. Really impressive performance for a rebuild. They're scrappy.
  24. Just Jada Tiggett so far, in addition to the few remaining players.
