  1. Thanks Brian.. in spite of BillikenTX it's good to have other team's information. It's called open-minded.
  2. V... in all honesty, thanks for the post. I appreciate it.
  3. The Blues quit playing for coach Kitchen, simple as that. Andy Murray brought an attitude to the Blues along with everyone being responsible. Sometimes a coaching change does work.
  4. Yeah, maybe I should get out more. As a season ticket holder I would always make a couple of away games every year like DePaul, Louisville, Memphis, etc. But, they are no longer in our conference. However, I am not going to act like a freaking snob and think I'm too good for the MVC. By the way, who in the hell is our rival? Of course you're going to say we don't need one. Ah well. Maybe in the A10 we can be more competitive than we would be in any other conference. Let's beat them Fordham Rams next time, ok boys?
  5. Yep, you're right.... it's not the allmighty A10.
  6. Nowhere near the history or reputation? How long has the A10 been in existence? I think it was 1975. The MVC is the second oldest conference in the United States if I'm not mistaken. Some of you people think you're a little too special.
  7. That would never work. You make too much sense.
  8. Roy, shouldn't that be spelled $ampson or something immature like that?
  9. I don't think I could name 4 coaches in the A10 either. LaSalle's ?, Fordham ?, St. Bonaventure ?. Heck, the closest place to St. Louis is Pennsylvania. And yes, the A10 is a joke.
  10. Outside of Father Biondi, no one that I know really gives a damn who the future undergrads are. They are more concerned who the future basketball players are. You just want to make sure that academics are not a problem. When I think of SLU basketball, I think of Larry Hughes or Anthony Bonner. Hughes was here, what? 1 year?
  11. You said that every school in the Valley is a second or third rate school in their respective state except for Creighton. I have a hard time believing that the schools in the A-10 are tops in their respective states. Charlotte? Dayton? Fordham? Richmond? Temple? etc. If St.Louis really had some smarts they would have joined the MVC in 2005. Travel costs have to be out of this world. Who is your rival? And don't tell me this will help your recruiting. When you're playing home-town boys and proud of it, are you going to go to Ohio and recruit? People in St. Louis, other than your students or alumni, would really prefer to see teams such as Missouri State, Creighton, Northern Iowa or Wichita State instead of the majority of teams from the A-10.
  12. Actually Doc, I'm a Billiken fan first and a college basketball fan second. I was just talking to ARV about how stupid it is to trash another team's arena, pa announcer, etc after they beat our basketball team.
  13. For the life of me I cannot understand how some "fans" rip the opposition after a loss. No, they don't have the worst facilities in America and they don't have the worst PA announcer in America. Lose with some class, ok clown.
  14. I've noticed that whenever another team is mentioned on here, that there are a few people that question what it has to do with SLU. This generally happens whenever the Illini or Mizzou are brought up but I've seen it happen with other teams also. Don't get me wrong, if thats the way things are around here, don't really care. I'm just so used to other team's boards where ANY discussion about basketball is welcomed, whether it be the home team, a rival or any team in general. The reason I brought this up is I was reading the discussion on Kelvin Sampson when, of course, someone had to ask what this was in conjunction with SLU basketball. Enlighten me.
  15. I don't think there is any chance at all beating North Carolina no matter where the game is played. I'll be there to root on the Billikens but I honestly don't expect us to win. Texas A&M would be a lot easier to win even if it's played on their home court.
  16. I would love to see SLU & Mizzou play on a regular basis, it could come close to the atomosphere of the Illini-Mizzou bragging rights game. And yes, most if not all people tower over Eddie Gaedel. Sheesh !!
  17. I guess you really shouldn't care what anyone thinks about SLU, right? While I don't think they showed any love to the Billikens, they sure didn't trash the program. Sometimes you people like to think you're above everyone else amd act like Roy.
  18. Thanks for the welcome. I've been watching this board for about 5 years now and finally posted. The reason I like college football better than the pros are the tailgates, the bands (what is the Rams fight song?), the names usually identify the school (Cornshuskers, Jayhawks, Sooners, Illini, etc.), the rivalries (Mizzou-KU, Oklahoma - Nebraska, Ohio State- Michigan, Notre Dame - USC). It seems as if the pros have music piped into their stadiums whereas the colleges have their own bands with some hot girls on the sidelines. Of course the pros have some pretty hot girls too. The only two places in pro football that compare with college is Kansas City and Green Bay. That's my opinion anyway.
  19. I would hope that you are telling me that "Husker" games are more exciting than Rams games. There are very few professional football teams that can have the pure glamour and excitement of college football.
