How many times did we make top 10 sportscenter moments
Quest replied to bluecrewprez's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Didn't Tommie get in against GeeDub with that punishing dunk? Also, Luke Meyer at Joe's?? -
That was the tournament that Peoria Notre Dame g/f Josh Edmonds was the MVP of last year. I think he is headed to Quincy, and that is a shame because he has an uncle who is a prof here at SLU. He would have been a good choice, considering Peoria Notre Dame consistently sends 10-15 graduates annually to Saint Louis University.

Some questions for everybody on this board?
Quest replied to brianstl's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Neither did Tom Cream, but somehow he convinced the greatest player in modern-day Marquette history to sign. -
Arkansas and Texas A&M have their coaches

As Wichita Falls, so falls Wichita Falls. -from "The Ice Harvest" -
Cardinals 3B Coach's daughter going to SLU??

softball...sorry fellas. -
Last night McLaughlin or Hrabosky mentioned that Oquendo's daughter signed with the Bills. Any additional info? That's great that we have some big league pedigree.
-
Perhaps. Very nice guy....both him and Bonner have been very receptive to me when I work there. It was slow last night, so I was able to talk some Billiken hoops with them. It's a little bit more insightful than the banter on here.
-
He's also a HUGE "Mr. Sunshine On My Shoulders" John Denver fan.

Last night, I was working at Humphrey's and Bonner came in to have a few beers and then a 6'5 guy who played at UMSL came in and he just introduced himself as "Bubba." He said he played for Grawer and recruited Bonner and Hughes to play for SLU. He knows a ton of people and was telling stories about coming to Humps with Altman and Spoon and Alford and getting hammered after Valley tournament games. Anybody know who this guy is? Seemed very personable.

Sakamato? Isn't that guy one of Kramer's pals?

So many posts about SLU losing out to WKU, Duke-Esne and Idiots Out Walking Around (IOWA)...but seriously, does this come as any surprise to people?? Take away that we have poor facilities Take away that we are in a poor conference Take away that we have no national television exposure Take away that other than Larry Hughes, no development at the next level And you are left with a coach who cannot recruit quality athletes to a top-80 academic institution. That is unacceptable.

I heard his foul shot percentage is way down this year 'cause he has "the shakes."
-
Oh no!
-
It's Big Monday, TX. You're thinking of Super Tuesday.
-
Why? You are a moron.
-
Now that Coach G is heading to Austin?
-
Does that come as any shock to you? He couldn't convince a starving Darfur kid to eat a hot sandwich.
-
...for a quick bite to eat before swinging over to Bentonville to tour Wal-Mart's new automated machinery. It's quite impressive.
-
Knollmeyer is awful. DIII player at best.
-
It's not going to happen.
-
Why does that matter? It's not like he's going to have any competition from Brad Soderberg.

That late foul when Oden missed the dunk was a call by CBS. G-town had late momentum and that all went away when CBS signaled for that ref to call a block. And Billy F-ing Packer slapping Oden when he was done answering Packer's 4th-grade level questions like Pack and Od's go way back to their schoolyard days. Was enough to make me sick. CBS never said "Oh, Georgetown's offense is giving Ohio State a hard time." It was always "Must have been a breakdown defensively, which is rare for such a great defensive team." Billy Packer is a joke. CBS sports is a joke. I hate how Jimmy Freaking Nantz has the best four weeks of anyone alive -- NCAA Tournament and then the Freaking Masters!?!? Are you shitting me? And Nantz played favorites big time today too. CBS is a joke.

We've already named a building on campus after the kid...what more can you do for a recruit?????

The Portsmouth Invitational Tournament is the nation’s oldest amateur basketball tournament and is recognized by NBA and European scouts as the premier showcase for professional prospects. I've never heard of it. My cousin Doug is a scout for the Spurs and I've never at any time in my life heard of this "showcase." The thing about our SID is that they build up these things like Ian just won the Showcase Showdown on the Price is Right. It's a camp for college kids held at a crummy high school gym. Get off your high horse.
