The SLU sales pitch to McKissic is pretty simple. We're losing our 2nd leading scorer, we only have one other returning player who was a double digit scorer, so there are plenty of opportunities to score. Plus, you get to play alongside an effective pass first PG. You could slide in and be our second double digit scorer, plus we need to strengthen our perimeter defense. There will be plenty of playing time for a player who can deliver those two things. Oh, and your parents can easily watch you play every game in person.
-isn't he JGood's cousin? I would think JGood could be a very valuable recruiter for us, in this one especially

-can the scheme a team runs on defense negate an individual player's ability to use their defensive skills?

I love seeing the Big 10 schools lose. Maybe we can have 9 Big 10 in and none in the sweet 16.
Play someone non conference Big 10 then you can see if you can beat anyone other than your own conferences overrated teams.
-me too and that would be sweet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,until The Committee finds a way to give even more of an advantage to Big 10 and the other 5

Blair Oaks' guards where overwhelmed by Vashon's pressure in today's Class 4 Final Four game, as expected. But 6'9 Luke Northweather showed he was what I thought I was: a legit mid-major recruit. He scored 21 points on 8-12 shooting, with 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals. The Valley will be all over this guy.
-are we? should we be?

SLU practice today before Duquesne tomorrow:
-you would think if Scott Highmark was going to sponsor a stadium it would be at SLU

We'll be replacing French with a taller version in Okoro. I also hope for better efficiency on offense but that will have to come from improved guard play from existing players and the addition of a combo guard to be named later. Also, next year it will be Yuri's team rather than Goodwin's. Bully Ball won't be as prominent a feature.
For the NIT, however, Bully Ball is the order of the day. The Founders are still here and it's what they do best.
-from my view we had many opportunities over the season to feed the post and the pass wasn't made, angle was good, our big had position and we just didn't throw it, given the amount of silly passes we made not sure why when the option is good to feed the post we wouldn't

Former SLU recruits in the transfer portal, updated. Current school in parentheses, followed by next year's class status and expected remaining eligibility, including COVID bonus year.
Had an offer from SLU at some point:
Nimari Burnett (Texas Tech) - Sophomore, 4 Years
Michael Christmas (James Madison) - Junior, 3 Years
Cam'Ron Fletcher (Kentucky) - Sophomore, 4 Years
Elijah Joiner (Tulsa) - Grad Transfer, 1 Year
Jamal Mashburn, Jr. (Minnesota) - Sophomore, 4 Years
Markquis Nowell (Little Rock) - Senior, 2 Years
KyKy Tandy (Xavier) - Junior, 3 Years
Dallas Watson (Saint Peter's) - Senior, 2 Years
Wyatt Yess (Yale) - Grad Transfer, 1-2 Years (Yale didn't play this season)Had SLU interest at some point:
Ron Artest, III (CSU-Northridge) - Senior, 2 Years
Donovan Clay (Valpo) - Junior, 3 Years
Tray Hollowell (Wofford) - Grad Transfer, 1 Year
Cooper Neese (Indiana State) - Senior, 2 YearsWe didn't really recruit Donovan Clay out of HS, but both are worth including. I've also eliminated players that have committed elsewhere.
I may have missed names, so keep them coming as you see new ones pop up or if you notice any omissions.
-do you think we were we close to getting any of these guys back when?

I cannot disagree with your points, I love the Billikens but I am honest about the results.
They should have played a practice game before taking on Dayton.
The 2 blow out losses to Dayton and the Bonnies cost SLU the NCAA tournament.
The loss to LaSalle hurt as well.
To be a NCAA tournament team they had to beat Dayton once and beat a boneless VCU team and they did not.
I have no argument with the selection committee not selecting the Billikens.
I hope you watch the NIT. French and Goodwin got SLU to the NCAA tournament with a wonderful A10 sweep. Last season I believe if they made it to the A10 tournament championship SLU would have gotten selected. Those two players accomplished a lot and I look forward to to seeing them play on Saturday.
-this is too rational a take for this Board
-
-it was announced that the ACC has eliminated its prohibition on transfers within the conference

Sync up the TV broadcast with the radio. It's the only way to follow Billiken basketball from a remote location, in my opinion.
-I hope that next season Rammer and Earl travel to away games as they, especially Rammer, were not as good as when they are at the games
-I understand it is difficult to call a basketball game using a feed and they did the best they could with the circumstances
-
-to show there is no bias at the NCAA, IU, UI and Rutgers are not playing at Purdue or IU, very noble
-just don't worry about Mich St, Ohio St, Wiscy, Mich and Maryland all playing at Purdue
-as to the BEast, neither UConn, 'Nova or Creighton will dance at Hinkle but G'twn will
-I don't know how much of an advantage it is to play in an arena where you would have played this season or last, but I have to think there is at least a little bit
-Playing at Purdue and not being subject to the extreme combover of Coach Keady in the stands might offset any advantage

-I would guess IU has a substantial bundle of cash to throw at someone to take the job, I hope they screw it up this time, too

-this isn't radio or tv but Stu's article on-line this morning, the paragraph with the quote from CFord on Covid, not sure that puts us in the best light as it could be interpreted as whining, but I guess few will see it
-
-I have to believe we never recovered from Covid as I have no other way to explain the StB game that doesn't implicate the players and/or coaches

St. Bonnie is the number 1 reason we are in this pickle. If you played any decent team non-conference (another Covid issue) and surprised them, you would have been ranked, and then we would be fine today.
No one on this board thought ossunyi was very good, but we have shut up about it now. 7’8” wingspan. That is pretty freaking rare.

Similar skill level but Turnbull is a much better athlete. Turnbull did this to Thompson recently.
-can he score from beyond the basket?

Shout out to Connor Turnbull, Fort Zumwalt North's 6'10 forward who looked like the best player on the floor against Kellen Thames's undersized Pattonville squad last night. Turnbull was dominant, finishing with 25 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks. Scored in the post with either hand, on offensive rebounds and from the three-point line.
Turnbull has been up and down most of the season which is why he's been recruited at the low-major level. But he has the athleticism and skill level to mature into a high mid-major recruit in the coming months. His rim protection is already A10 worthy. Would love to see FZN go on a run to give Turnbull the opportunity to match up against a legit big in Springfield. Chaminade or Kickapoo will be waiting for them on March 20 if FZN gets that far.
-can you compare to the kid from Francis Howell that another A10 team recently offered?
-
-"best to play a game before Friday" to go Old Guy, that means today (Wed) or tomorrow (Thur), I am fairly certain CFord told Frank the NCST came about in less than 24 hours
-my question, why is "before Friday" in this? why not Friday or Saturday? clearly not the case that the Committee can't process information on these days as conference tournaments end even as late as Sunday afternoon
