  1. The SLU Pep Band will not move, is the backbone of the experience at the arena and continues to get better every year.
  2. Is the only way to buy the CD is to be in person at the arena?
  3. Facebook Page for SLU Chicago: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Saint-Louis-University-Chicago-Alumni-Club/137868842953037
  4. Glad a bunch of you can make it to Sedgwick's today! Just mention the SLU area;they are reserving a few tables. I will be with you in spirit. We will try to find a spot for the Xavier game on the 28th! Check Twitter @sluchicago and Facebook (Chicago SLU Alumni Club) for more. Joe
  5. We'll need to connect with an independent bar. Not one of the Four Corner Tavern bars - they are too cookie-cutter and locked into too many schools. I have a great relationship with a few bars in the hot West Loop that we could try......
  6. I have contacted Sedwick's and they are reserving a small area for us from 4pm-6pm tomorrow. Just ask for the SLU area and they should be able to help you out.
  7. jimmy two times- I am the local chapter president in Chicago and we have tried *endlessly* for years to get an official SLU bar in Chicago. We have had some nice events at Sedgwick's in the past and can try to have them turn on the game for you tomorrow. I cannot attend due to a family event. You have to realize they are the official bar for: 1. Duke 2. Missouri 3. Illini 4. Villanova We get trumped if those colleges are playing. The good news is at 4pm tomorrow, there are none of the colleges playing so it should be wide open. I have been to SLU game watches during some lean years (some by myself) for the Billikens and sadly it seems some people only come out if they are playing well so to convince a bar to host us is not an easy task. Give me your email and we can discuss and see if you can help us out in my 15-year quest to find a solution to this. Go Bills!
  8. We will be meeting at West End in the West Loop on Saturday, December 11th at 11AM. West End is located at 1326 W. Madison. Hope to see all the Chicago SLU alumns there!
  9. Let's have some fun... The 18 potential schools who might be in this Catholic Conference once the BigTen dusts settles are listed below. I could see it being anywhere from 10-18 schools, but will assume 12 with East and West divisions. (Below that, I listed all the details of all 18 schools; the schools are sorted by 2009 endowment.) EAST Georgetown St. John's Villanova Seton Hall St. Joseph Providence (add Fordham, LaSalle, St. Bonaventure-if all 18) WEST Notre Dame SLU Marquette Dayton DePaul Xavier (add Loyola, Duquesne, Detroit Mercy-if all 18)
  10. I saw this on another board - try it out! Here's how you play: Go to Wikipedia Click on "Random Article" at the upper left Try to get to the Wikipedia page for "Anthony Bonner" in as few clicks as possible Post your score, along with the path you followed to get from your random page to AB For example, here's mine: "France at the 1956 Summer Olympics" (my random page) 1. France at the 1980 Winter Olympics 2. United States 3. New York City 4. New York Knicks 5. 1990–91 NBA season 6. 1990 NBA Draft 7. Anthony Bonner
  11. I'm hoping for somewhere on this site: http://www.justin.tv/directory/sports#r=4BabKWE~
  12. DePaul needs to get their arena situation fixed. Nobody is going to the games -- at best they get 4,000 at a game. This program is almost dead.

  14. Not in the city itself. Playing in the terrible location and venue of the All-State Arena does not count in my opinion, especially when having an alumni reception. True on the Loyola event which was poorly attended on a bad date way up in Rogers Park. I was speaking of playing at a venue within a five-minute drive/bus/EL-ride of downtown. This is a great opportunity on a holiday weekend.
  15. In case anyone has not seen the event schedule, SLU Men's basketball will be playing in Chicago this year for the annual Chicago Invitational Challenge the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving in the city at the UIC Pavilion. We play Friday at 5:00 pm and either 4:30 pm or 7:00 pm Saturday. This event had been scheduled to be play way out in Hoffman Estates, but has been moved to the city. We plan on having a reception for these events and are in the process of setting that up. I am really excited to have the Billikens play in our city for the first time since 1998 when Larry Hughes and Spoon played at the old DePaul arena in Lincoln Park. Spread the word.
  16. Late update: We will be meeting at the Dayton alumni club HQ in Chicago to watch the game tonight. The bar is "Finley Dunne's" at 3458 N. Lincoln.
  17. After Knight, Mike Davis and then Sampson - IU needs two things: 1. Stability 2. Long-term coaching prospect RM doesn't fit either of those.
  18. It's a terrible production - one fixed camera and as of 8:10 CST - it appears the kid on the camera job is taking a bathroom break; it is a fixed shot on the mid-court scoreboard with the clock running. Terrible.

  20. OK. Well - check for SLU in this as the team gets hot the next few weeks: http://tcaa.puretecmo.com/nit06.html
  21. No shot: From Joe Lunardi (ESPN Braketologist): Sean From Cincy: Joe, If Xavier wins out and beats quality teams in the A-10 tourney do you see them as a possible #1 seed? SportsNation Joe Lunardi: No shot of that, Sean.
  22. A little more than one and a half seasons after Bulls general manager John Paxson and then-coach Scott Skiles made a splash by signing Wallace away from the Detroit Pistons for $60 million over four years, the Bulls have agreed in principle to ship the center, along with Joe Smith and a future second-round pick, to Cleveland as part of a three-team deal that included Seattle. According to an ESPN.com report, the Cavs also received Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West from the SuperSonics. Chicago also sent Adrian Griffin to Seattle, which also acquired Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall from Cleveland. The Bulls will receive Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown from Cleveland. The trade awaits league approval but is expected to go through.
