I am not saying UMASS is a final 4 team but I did notice they were an 11th seed in the ESPN bracketology rankings. An impressive win for the Bills. Thur will be a good test against X. Are we turning it around or was the UMASS game another step toward inconsistency. BTW, X is #3 in the brackets.

Great game! An upset not just because we beat 21st ranked UMASS but because we led the entire game and we won by a pretty good spread. Hopefully, we will build on this win and turn it up another notch for X.

If it affects the team's overall numbers. See UCONN--Missing 2 key players-no effect so far. In Dayton case, so far, a minor effect. Remember, they beat us by 11 eleven last time. In the short term, a team can adjust--long term it can start to wear on a team. Of course, in the case of a disaster---see Mizzou---it will definitely have a major effect which will increase game by game.

Day by 6 over Bills

The program only uses this year's games but does figure in a homefield advantage. Of course when you only shoot 15% and miss 23 shots in a row all stats are out the window. An interesting note--had the Bills shot 46% they would have in fact won the game by 1. It doesn't look real good for the Dayton game. Maybe after seeing this debacle, Dayton will be overconfident and stumble against us.

I agree, X is the class of the league. If we played them tonight @ home , X would be favored by 16.

It seems like IUPUI doesn't get much respect. Just because they have a funny name (ooey pooey) and come from a bad conference doesn't mean they can't play basketball. This is a pretty good team. They beat a very good UMASS team and they are better than Kent St and Sam Hou St. Are they a final four team? NO. But, if you don't respect them bad things can happen. (ie Kent &SHSt)

Loy is not a very good team. The reason the spread is not greater than 12 is because of some of the "bombings" we took. While I had picked BC and Kent State to win the margin of defeat we suffered damaged our numbers. Therefore 12 is about right. If the Bills team that beat SIUC shows up we could win by 20.

If we can shoot 38-40% we can win this game.

And like I said "...If we shoot 30% again we lose." I also said in that same post ..."as long as we shoot 40% or better we should be in good shape" The reality is----If we shoot 38% this game we win.

The Bills held 12th rated Pitt(ave 83pts/ game) to it's lowest pt total of the year. Pitt is a far superior team to SH St. The Bills should have no trouble keeping the score down against SH St. Our game may be very similar to that Tex Tech game --low scoring and tight. Tech lost that game 56-54 but they played away. Our "Scottrade advantage" should be worth 5 thereby giving us a 3 pt win. The key is are we going to shoot 40% or higher. If we shoot 30% again--we lose.
