  1. ive read post about us recruiting this kid from vashon. just wondering was he playing in vrs PB tonight or in the stands watching it? we need to go after tylers brother ben hansbrough instead i dont think i heard bobbys name once in the game and we offered him a scholarship?
  2. i never thought that he would go under fire after the year. the poll states what do you think will come first... i voted for brad getting the ax first because thats the way i feel this team is headed at this point. is he really doing any better than romar???
  3. well hes not playing on his school team im sure a lot of school will be turned off by this
  4. did anyone see the article in the post a few days ago. this might hurt his recruiting and slu might have a shot to get the big pf they need.
  5. I know it dunking is no where near our biggest concern right now but i do not remember the last time it has happened..... but i think it does show that our players arents being agressing enough(bigs) we can seem to make any 2-6footers so quit fooling around with the ball and throw it down big man THROW IT DOWN.
  6. >brehms, i agree polk isnt ready yet. but the point was that >we have garnered the three best athletes in the st louis >area for the most recent two recruiting classes. this >poster seems to imply that coach soderberg cant get athletes >to come to st louis, and i was pointing out that he already >has. > >now if anyone wants to point out we havent gotten any decent >inside players that i wont argue about Im guessing you consider luke meyer a better athlete than Xavier Price?
  7. i think the key to this season is with JJ and TF. If they are active i think they can help turn this year around
  8. I did the thing that no one else did on this board... I approached Jessie Leonard at a desmet basketball game vrs parkway south(my former high school)which wasnt hard to do if you go to any desmet games. I first asked him how Jared was doing and he said he should be back by the middle of January which is good news. Then I asked him how his grades were and he said the first quarter he had a 2.5 the best hes ever done at desmet. I was surprised with all this bad talk about Jared i expected him not to tell me or atleast tell me a lower gpa...me not being the best student at my years at south i consider 2.5 at a school like desmet for some1 who known struggle at academics is pretty darn good. Anyway then I mentioned to Jessie about this board and the comments made about his struggles, and I didn't have to tell him anything because he said he already knew. He said he regularly glances at the slu board at his work and saw the topic on the board. he said he relayed the information to Jared and they were disappointed in the remarks made. He gave me permission to post what he said on this site saying he doesn't want to sign on himself and post because of his sons recruitment by the school. October 27, 2004 Two Big Ten offers for 2006 Leonard -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Meyer RivalsHoops.com Recruiting Analyst Jarod Leonard, one of the top performers at this past summer’s Nike Hoop Jamboree and the No. 105 ranked player in the class of 2006 had a breakout summer with the St. Louis Eagles AAU program. Now the 6-foot-6, 179-pound wing player from DeSmet Jesuit in Maryland, Mo., has two Big Ten offers. “I like Miami, Florida, North Carolina State, Virginia, USC, St. Louis, Missouri, Illinois, Purdue, Iowa, and Florida State,â€said Leonard. “Coaches from North Carolina State, Purdue, Illinois, Missouri, and St. Louis have been to my school to see me play.†Purdue, Iowa and St. Louis have all offered scholarships to Leonard. At this point, Leonard is only concerned about being able to contribute on the floor for his future college. "I just want to go in and know I can contribute,†he said. “I don’t want to sit on the bench. I feel I’ve worked hard and just want to be able to play." Rivals.com has this scouting report on Leonard based on his play at the Nike Hoop Jamboree: Leonard is a slasher and big time play maker. Not only can he attack the rim, but he can shoot it and pass it. He consistently knocked down 18-footers and will soon have consistent three point range. If he gains weight and keeps improving his skills, the athletic Leonard could one day make a living as a shooting guard. Leonard had a similar assessment of his game. "I think if I get more consistent on my three-point shot and get stronger, the skies the limit,†he said. Leonard, who has a 2.5 GPA, averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game last season
  9. Looking at the future games I cant really pick out any and say the bills are def/going to win? I was disappointed again tonight but are players play hard. We just do not have the talent this year. But like ive said in earlier posts it cant get any uglier than this. SHOOT THE BALL LUKE!!
  10. I just want to be honest with my opinion... I think the bill will have a very rough season and a very rough month of December. Face it this team will not beat Iowa SIUC or Gonzaga. And with the way this team is playing now they wont beat Oakland or Dayton. This team will probably beat W Milwaukee but I thought we would defiantly beat Austin P and Oral R so I cant mark down any wins for sure for the bills. Im still supporting the team 100% but I think that its a rebuilding year for the bills ... give some of the younger players some pt in the games we are not going to win such as Iowa or the Zags. Wheres Luke Meyer we know he can score, give the kid a chance vrs elite talent in a tough enviornment, he couldnt do any worse on the offensive end that AD, put him in Brad!!!
  11. All i can say is wow, worst bills team i have even seen.
  12. I always thought that this could have been a future recruit for the bills. He is a raw big body. Rival article.... The word “upside†is used again and again in talking about recruits. You can't necessarily predict the upside a kid has in high school, but Missouri saw enough of it in Adam Knollmeyer to offer the 6-foot-8, 230-pounder a scholarship before his junior season even began. Jeff City News Tribune Knollmeyer averaged 14.5 points and eight rebounds as a sophomore. “The coaches at MU think he could step in tomorrow and help them out,†said Adam's father, John Knollmeyer. “But he's got two more years to develop. I think they're really excited about getting him.†“I think he's got an awful lot of tools,†said Helias head coach Jerry Buescher. “He's fairly quick for a big kid and he jumps fairly well. He can shoot the outside shot or he can go inside and dunk it. I think when you're a junior in high school, that's a pretty good combination.†Knollmeyer will most likely be a completely different player by the time he sets foot on campus in Columbia in the fall of 2006. His coach thinks he'll be a different player when Helias opens the season next week. “You have to remember he was awfully young last year. He was a sophomore last year. I don't think you'll be as consistent as a sophomore as you will be as a junior or senior,†said Buescher. “He'll get better. I think the thing we'll see is he will be more consistent. As a freshman and sophomore, you have some good games, you have some average games. I think what we're trying to do the last half of last year and this year is get him where every game is a good game. That's a lot to ask of a young man, but when you're a four-year starter, yo'ure expected to be good and I think he will be.†As a sophomore, Knollmeyer averaged 14.5 points and eight rebounds for the Crusaders. It was his work off the court that Buescher says will help the junior over the next couple of seasons. “Adam does a lot of work in the summertime. He lifts the weights religiously,†Buescher said. “He works on his basketball a lot. He plays on a couple AAU teams and travels all over the place because he wants to play against the good competition. I think all that combined is what's really helped him out.†The Tiger coaching staff had a couple of opportunities to see Knollmeyer's potential. “At some camps this summer he worked against some of [Missouri's] kids and the coaches told me he had some extremely good workouts,†Buescher said. “I think that was big. They came down to some open gyms and he had some really good workouts here.†Head coach Quin Snyder saw Knollmeyer this fall and offered him a scholarship following that observation. That's why the Tigers chose Knollmeyer, but why did he choose Mizzou? “I want to represent my state school. I like the player development program that they have and their coaching system,†Knollmeyer said. “I've gotten to know the coaches. We developed a relationship and I trust them completely.†But still, with nearly a year before he's even allowed to ink a letter of intent, Knollmeyer could very well have gained a lot more attention with a strong high school season and a good performance on the summer circuit. “He gets all kind of information from Nebraska, Iowa State and a bunch of different schools,†Buescher said. “I think a couple things really entered into this. He wanted to go fairly close to home and the Big 12 is an awful good conference.†“I knew where I wanted to play, so why wait?†Knollmeyer asked. The early decision even caught his family off guard. “I was kind of surprised Adam wanted to go ahead and commit,†said his father. “I kind of wanted him to look at some other programs so he could compare them to Missouri, but I think ultimately that's where he wants to go. He just doesn't want to fool with anything else.†And with that out of the way, all Knollmeyer has to focus on now is playing basketball. “To be a success at the University of Missouri, he'll have to continue growing. When I say growing, improving and getting better,†Buescher said. “I think he can go up there and if he keeps working at it, he can go up there and his freshman year, maybe play some ball.â€

  17. We need to try to get on Tyus's good side. I think if we got him and leonard for 06 that would be one of the best combinations in a long time at Slu.We still need to find a 4 or 5, but were on the right track. Does anyone know any pf or c in the 06 class we should be aware of? Tyus and Leonrd will be compeeting at the Nike all American camp with Lisch and Hansbrough im sure the staff will be on hand.
  18. www.rivalshoops.com by Jerry Meyer 2006 prospect Jarod Leonard was one of the top performers at the Nike Hoop Jamboree. The 6-foot-6, 179-pound small forward from DeSmet Jesuit High School in Maryland, Mo., has also had an impressive run on the summer circuit for the St. Louis Eagles. At the moment Leonard has a list of six schools. “I like Saint Louis, Missouri, Purdue, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Kansas,†said Leonard. “Those are the schools that come to mind right now.†Having Saint Louis and Missouri close by has enabled Leonard to visit both campuses. “Two weeks ago I visited Missouri,†he said. “I like Coach Snyder. He is a good coach. I know they have run into a little bit of trouble here lately, but I think they have things on the right track right now. “I really like Saint Louis a lot. I spent some time there last week, and my dad played there in the seventies. I also like Coach Soderberg.†Leonard, who averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game as a sophomore, has been named MVP at two tournaments this spring and all-tournament at another. He is a slashing athlete with a developing skill package. “I can make plays with my penetration and then dishing the ball off or finishing at the rim,†he said. “I can hit the jumper and my defense is solid.†Leonard does have the potential to be a very good shooting guard on the next level. The one area that needs to improve is his range. He shot the ball well from midrange at the Hoop Jamboree. His nice looking shot should naturally develop range as he works on it. “I feel comfortable shooting the ball out to the three point line, and I play the two on my high school team,†he said. “My three point shot could be better, but it is definitely getting better. I am working on getting a quicker release out on the three point line. Out to 19-feet my release is quick, but it is a little slow from 19-feet to 25-feet.â€
  19. Its held this week at the west pine gym, ive heard rumors of local players participating does anyone know for sure?
  20. The SLU coaching staff will be able to get a good look at them against the top 100 players in the nation June 16-19 at the Nike Hoop Jamboree. This camp is held at St. Louis U and is open to college coaches. Im sure Brad and his staff will be on hand and observing closely.
