  1. Hello??? I'm missing something here, no one EVER said the new guys wouldn't come in and start, if they DESERVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My response which starting this topic in our ongoing conversation was how in everyone else's post DREJAJ wasn't considered as a starter, neither was Luke or Danny...that's my point. We're talking abot Kevin and Tommie as if they're gonna come right in and Change the whole program, we're gonna win 25 games and they will lead us on...that's the tone...I simply am saying why is that?? Everyone has to earn their starting spots, not just have them given to them. I thinking Drejaj has EARNED!! at least that... If that changes during the course of the season so be it, but based on his performance this season, he should start... Bullcrap about Danny seeing more time because of our crisis, our crisis happened with less than 3 weeks left in the season if that long and Danny was already seeing significant time, and he got that on his own merit, because of how he worked in practices and in games. (that's my point) The one we saw more of was Luke and that was because Reg was home, and Luke shined on that opportunity. I think Luke would've saw more time without our crisis happening because if u remember right before our situation at home, Reg was coming off the bench, so coach had already made his decision to start younger players. I said from the beginning before this season started that Ian should start, but I understood why Brad preferred his PROVEN SENIOR..who wouldn't, but I only saw him show favoritism in that area, that position, cause believe me every other position was up for grabs, look at our history of subs this season...
  2. In reference to the word "check" I mean exactly that..U stated the guys may question what Drejaj has proven..etc.., my thing is that shouldn't even be an issue if they're team players as u say, if they're trying to fit into the system. U can't just come onto the team and just think u have free reign, if nothing else Drejaj paid his dues, and they'll have to pay theirs, that's what I mean by check. That's respect for Drejaj, even as a support player to the team as u say..he deserves to be respected, and I know Soderberg very well too and I can almost assure u that he will put Drejaj in a leadership role, because he at least knows what he's getting from the kid and he's already a vocal leader...He doesn't have to earn the freshmans respect, they have to accept his position and respect him for what he has done for SLU... U're wrong about my comment for next year, not hoping they'll fail, hoping Drejaj bust azz and u'll eat your words...thats all, I'm definitely a fan of the SLU team, very nice group of guys..I thought that was obvious..especially moving to the A10, I should see more of their games..so I'm a fan for life..regardless As far as scruitiny, it shouldn't matter what was going on his personal life..everyone and their grandmother knew Reg was hurt all season, it didn't make a difference, he was still chastised as if he wasn't trying harder, his abilities was still questioned, he wasn't stepping up, as I stated in my response, my comments were to the whole thread not just u.
  3. My bad, said before wasn't good at remembering who said what, but do remember the comments..thanx for setting it straight
  4. This is in response to the Drejaj comments from this thread not just your comments..What gets me is that at SLU, having your players earn there starting spots isn't even considered. Everyone seems ready to just hand over the team to new guys who has to learn Brad's system which we all know "takes a minute". To guys who also have to deserve to start just like Drejaj, just like any of the other guys. I think Luke and Danny Brown showed tremendous efforts this season, why would they not even be considered, why assume that Kevin and Tommie will "immediately" turn the team around. Afterall it's a team, if these guys came onto the team with an attitude as u suggest Jalensdad, as an Upperclassmen and probably captain or co-captain (Drejaj) I would check them right from the beginning. Make sure they understand that I'm a leader. How will the kids learn if it's just given to them because of what their skills were on the High school level. This is College...then if the kids do start over Drejaj and doesn't perform as everyone expects we'll be reading threads about their inefficiencies...or not so supportive comments... What if Drejaj is the man next year, if he's the glue that keeps this team winning, how will everyone feel then? Everyone will be singing his praises..we're comparing these Freshman to other SLU players but then if for some reason they can't live up to that, we're ready to drop them..I can't wait until next year..I will remember this thread. I agree with Taj..it doesn't mean Drejaj will be leading scorer etc..but I guarantee you, he will be the one who vocally and mentally keep this team tight. If I'm wrong next season, I'll admit it then. But until then, I don't care how good guys were before the team, in high school, in juco, in prep school, it's how they play WITH!! the team that counts. Reg was good in prep school, high school, he didn't get a pass from scruitiny, But Kevin and Tommie does..is it because Reg wasn't from St. Louis..what's the deal.. Again nothing personal, I'm responding to the overall tone of the thread, I could be once again mis-reading, you all know how I can be very emotional...
  5. My post wasn't personal to you or your comments, they were my comments to sum up all of my responses for this thread and to add a little commentary myself on last nights game.
  6. Well Reg played okay when he was in the game. He wasn't in the game for most of the second half, So his starting to me didn't have anything to do with the loss.. I believe Reg should've started though, with his foot and ankle the way it is, he had to get going early. I personally didn't like the defense last night, that's why Memphis was able to score so many points, I felt we left their men open too many times. I felt that we had too too many turnovers too early and ultimately gave up on winning the game, we were down to only 1 timeout with significant time in the second half and we subbed at all the wrong times. I believe it became apparent that we were no longer trying to win, when Reg never got back in, when Coach stopped coaching and of course we weren't getting the calls. I didn't see any play by Reg last night that warranted his being on the bench like he was. He was into the game, very much excited about the team having a second chance when I spoke to him earlier that day. So I don't really understand how he seemed not too tuned into the game, maybe Its just me on that note. I know this isn't how he wanted to go out, I know he supported this team to the bitter end when he could've easily have given up, its too bad SLU never really got to see Reg at his best, last year he showed just a touch of what he can do. He is a senior and many have talked about his stepping up, his leadership, him apparently not being the guy many thought he was, not being able to handle being "the man" on a team etc, him being falsely accused of not talking to the coach, accused of giving me inside info, him actually being given up on, he has managed to get through all the adversity and still gave all he could for the team, the school, the fans every game. Not one game did he let his circumstance or situation be it my father, brother, his foot, ankle, eye, him not starting or starting..get the best of him. He stayed positive. That's what I'd like SLU to remember. Despite how bad this season was for everyone. He still lead his team, his family and his academics.
  7. I'm glad the coach hasn't given up on Reg..Reg certainly never gave up on the team, despite his injuries, his off the court issues, he's played hard and through it all. He definitely played good defense and made those crucial shots down the end.
  8. Is is just the number on the jersey's or do it have a name, is the same "home" jersey's the team wears..$80 I'm thinking it must have something special on it besides the number right?
  9. I agree with u all. Luke plays well, he makes mistakes, but he's a freshman and he's just starting to really get playing time. I think he could've made a better decision in the last few seconds, but that also comes with experience and when u look at it, he shouldn't have been in that position anyway. I really would've preferred for Drejaj, Izik, Reg, Ian to take the last shot. Drejaj made some key plays last night. His efforts kept us close as well. Izik, played very well. I was just told that we were out of timeouts last night and that troubles me, because I said this before, we need to start preparing our guys for close games, final seconds type of situations. This is a clear example of why its necessary. Even with all the timeouts used, who was the floor general and why didn't that person have the ball. Danny Brown, I love his game. Of course he can improve, but which player on our team can't. The funny thing is, I have a hard time telling him and Reg apart, when I'm looking at games, I'm constantly looking for the jersey number
  10. Ok then that would explain why we didn't set something up, I guess the option of us getting the ball back in the last few seconds might not have been explored during the last time out.
  11. I knew Reg wouldn't see much action last night, I just felt it. But with that he could never get into a rhythm with how he was being played anyway. He made a bucket and got benched. So I wasn't surprised at all at how he was played. But we were down 4 with a minute + on the clock. Our young guys were playing good, but no one wanted to shoot the ball. It was a passing game. Despite our missed free throws I think if Luke, Polk, Danny whomever would have drove the ball to the hole with that 9 seconds left would have at least had a chance at tying the game and or getting fouled. There was no play set up for that. It wasn't fair to Luke for him to try and create something, because that's not his job. I thought we had one more timeout left and that should have been used to win the game or at least tie. We could've won last night, missed free throws and all. I thought maybe Izik was in foul trouble that I missed something, but he wasn't. I saw Drejaj in for a minute then he was on the bench the next. I don't understand that. Who was supposed to shoot the ball?
  12. The guys played well, but I don't understand why Izik was on the bench. I figured Reg wouldn't see much action, but Izik was leading scorer. We were only down four, I think in the end we should have had some veterens on the floor, not even saying Reg, but at least Izik. I don't know, it seemed like we conceded the game a little near the end. Just my opinion, but overall thought the guys played very well.
  13. Well at least I can say that ESPN Classic has been advertising really well. They've advertised tonite's game for the last week or more.
  14. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes once again. Our family is very appreciative of all the support. Of course anyone in Reg's position would have mental and emotional feelings about all of the trials he's gone thru these past few years. Namely during his college years, dealing with the loss of family and illness of family members. Being so far away from home when things occur. But he'll be a stronger man because of it. I'm sure Coach will play Reg as he sees fit. I sure want to make it to the conference tournament, so I'm sure Brad will play whomever's ready to play. Whether Reg comes off the bench or not, isn't an issue for me, it's how the guys play these last few games. I was so impressed by the team these last few games, couldn't really listen much, didn't get time to visit the board much, a little but not much, so I know they did their thing. I'm proud of that. Reg definitely has options for pursuing a basketball career, or joining various aspects of the workforce, he won't be lost. I've said this before on the board that despite what happens these last few months of play. that it wouldn't make much of an impact on his career decisions after SLU. Reg has a committment to SLU and eventhough he has trouble going on in one aspect of his life, he realizes that he has obligations as well. So I don't know not coming back to SLU was never an option. He did keep in contact with everyone including Brad about his plans, so they knew what was going on as well. Again guys, thanks for your prayers. I'm back as well, and I've been reading up, see that I MISSED A LOT OF COMMENTS..WHEW DID I
  15. That's right I said "WE", meaning all inclusive. I also said in my post when I responded to the question of "DO THE GUYS GET ALONG, WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE LOCKER ROOM?", i said in that post that some of this is FACT and mostly MY OPINION, so I clearly stated that. That's my point, all of that was by-passed and u think I'm getting some inside info. I didn't want people to think any of that, I said I felt...I think...from what I see..., I never said Reg said this happened in the locker room, u came to that conclusion. So I'm not being contradictory, u're the one twisting my words. U won't get me to agree with u, because u're wrong. If u don't like my comments, then say that, but don't accuse me of saying and implying things I didn't say, i.e. talking to the players after every game...that was said to show sarcasim, but u made yourself look crazy, because I never said that. I never said anything out of the LOCKER ROOM, U are assuming I do. U're assuming Reg tells me, calls home complainig, not. If u remember last year I said Reg doesn't complain about anything, he would never say bad things about his teammates, he's not that type of person. If u want to make conclusions and assumptions then do so, but be prepared for feedback, especially when u're referring to me. I answered the post, just like this one, I didn't make the thread, I didn't say "Guess what's going on in the locker room?", "Coach Brad is this or that", I've never disrespected him or anything, so I can only conclude that u just don't like my replies. Which is cool, but don't lie on me. How much clearer can I get with that...
  16. It wasn't very mature, u're right. It wasn't mature of u to try a pot shot on the sly. U may not think I'm a professional, But I'm aprofessional when the situation calls for it, when it doesn't I can be just as nasty, mean, ig-nant(that's for u), immature, stupid(ass u put it) and more. I majored in English at one point, before switching my major, so I know what a sentence is(this also for u). U brought on my response, so don't dish it, if u can't take it.
  17. Trust me Roy, I know when not to cross the line, just like now. I couldn't believe that was said. Talkative. This is a board for goodness sake, that's all we do is talk. As much as I talk to the coaches and the players, If i stepped over the line, they would've told me, Reg would definitely say something. I said this last season, that I don't share much of what's said on the board, just comments where people have asked me to. Like our father getting well for instance. I said Reg doesn't look on the board, but I suspected that others did and may take things to heart, so I wouldn't put anything on here, to make it harder for Reg or any of the other players. I'm glad u can see that I try to be as unbiased as possible with Reg. I don't sugarcoat his mess ups, I don't overly praise his acheivements either. He's a player just like the rest of the guys. I defend and comment on the whole team, not just Reg. I just was taken aback by that comment, I couldn't even finish reading the reply until I responded to those two words, TALKATIVE SISTER, to me that implies a polite put down. Ok, Roy, I am a bit emotional and probably overstating it a little , but anyway I didn't like it. When I read that statement by Brad I knew it would be perceived as if he were talking to me. But then I know Brad is man enough and doesn't have a problem telling me that himself. So he wouldn't have used that forum to address me. So If it were Billikan, I couldn't get mad (well maybe I would've) but at least he's been consistent with his feelings for me and my post. I can accept that, but I can't accept someone trying to say I did something I didn't. He's only assuming I did, because I'm Reg's sister, and implied, that I call these guys after every game. Clearly not the case, I commented on games that I attended. I do get there early sometimes to talk to the guys and coaches, I'm not just there to support Reg, I'm supporting them ALL, THE WHOLE TEAM.
  18. TALKATIVE SISTER!!!! U're crazy, I haven't said a damn thing out of the locker room, my comments were based on what I saw in Practices, what I know from talking to the guys, from what I see at the games, from what I get from coach HIS DAMN SELf. Where do u get your ASSumptions? It's one thing for me and BILLIKAN to debate, but u're from no where, u re-read my post and tell me what i EVER said that came out of the locker room. I'm not STUPID ENOUGH to tell u or anyone else on here what Reg tells me in Confidence. What Coach tells me in Confidence. Get real. Don't call me out. I've had just about all the politics I will take from u, What if I told u Coach told me why REG AND IZIK didn't start? What if I told u I hadn't talked to REG in weeks, and still knew he wasn't starting? WHAT IF??? U don't know me, I'll talk as long as I have a mouth, now see what u can do about SHUTTING ME UP? The games I talked to the players I was there, again an ASSumption, so I don't have to get on the phone. I made MY COMMENTS as I saw them, u ASSumed REG told me things. Just like u're ASSuming u can defame me on this board.........NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm really ready to talk to u, I'm really ready to be TALKATIVE WITH U. Let's talk, ask me some questions, so u'll know the truth instead of your ASSSSSSSSSSSumptions.
  19. I'm very pumped about DP, I just told him about shooting more and his confidence. I'm still not giving up on Reg and Izik. I'm glad DP stepped up. He's another scoring option, as well as Ian and now it appears that the SLU weapons are forming, late but still forming. I'm thinking it will be hard to guard all four when they're hot, if they're all hot at the same time that is.
  20. I think Ian is definitely a "WORK IN PROGRESS", he's very good in the inside. Once the guys learn to give him the ball more, he'll show what he can do with it. I'm very hopeful about Ian, he's gaining confidence, I spoke with him and he even talks with more excitement. I can't wait to see him in the years to come.
  21. I agree, if nothing, Brad will learn from this years woes. I think the team will ultimately be fine. Moving to the A10 will prove to be a better fit in my opinion for SLU. What Brad will learn is how to grow in his relationships during the good and bad times with his team. He will learn what motivates the team and what doesn't. I really think Brad has the potential to be an even greater coach. Just like I think the players all have the potential to be greater players far more than what we've seen this year.
  22. I talked to DP after the ECU game. I asked him was their any restrictions on him shooting, he said no (if he had the green light to shoot). I encouraged him to take more shots, I told him people (other teams) are totally sleeping on his abilities and not even quarding him with respect to his shot. So show them why they should. He listened, we laughed. I think he'll come around, I agree it does seem to be an element of fear there as u said and too much thinking. It goes beyond thinking this is my shot, it seems like it's more about the consequences if my shot doesn't fall. That's not confidence, I'm hoping the whole team comes around and know their shots will fall and know they can beat these teams, block out all the negativity and just play. Play to have fun. If the game isn't fun, then mentally they're not 100%. Your mentality, abilities, and physical fitness is all a part of the game.
  23. The original Post called for inside info, if the guys got along and as normal the repliers opinion. U're talking as if I'm the one who asked the question. Someone other than myself asked the questions. So if anyone else would have answered besides me, r u saying that would've been fine? But because I"m Reg's sister, I shouldn't answer the question, because u think I'm biased? Why r u so hard on me and haven't mentioned anything about the poster who asked for inside information? That leads me to conclude that your problem isn't with what I say at all, It's with me personally. So why are u trying to rationalize your prejudices against me, when u know it's STRICTLY PERSONAL. Otherwise u're deluding yourself that I"m SPILLING THE BEANS so to speak. U just don't like me and it gives u false reasoning to dislike Reg. If u can say that Reg is telling me these things, people will start to dislike him as u obviously do. U can't accept the fact, that he's a stand up guy, and doesn't speak negative about the team. Even if he's not the person u thought he was, he's still respectful, he still listens to his coach, he still tries his best to perform on and off the court. If basketball isn't his future, then it's not, but would like to "tarnish" his reputation, by saying he's telling me INSIDE INFO and that's not true. So if he's not on here to defend himself against u, as u so eloquently said Brad isn't here to defend himself against me, how r u different that I am? It's your prejudices against me, that's the bottom line.
  24. U made a key point, u all had leadership, but still SUCKED BUTT, so why in the case of SLU should we be stressing for a leader, if u'll still SUCK BUTT...(this according to your theory) If a leader does evolve, will he score all the points, set the plays, get all the rebounds etc?? According to your theory, we shouldn't expect to win, with or without a leader, so then what's the problem? I don't think our guys a wimpy as u might infer, I actually think they're pretty strong mentally to deal with this season and the losses, the refs etc...
  25. This isn't insider trading?? I told u that i'm not in the locker rooms, u relentlessly believe Reg is telling me things and that's not the case. I talk to the coaches, the reporters, I listen to the pre and post shows, Brad's shows, I read, I inquire myself. If things were top secret I'm sure the coach or his staff would never tell me. Reg doesn't tell me oh, this happened that happened, I made my own synopsis. I told u Reg had a meeting with coach and it was good. Did I tell u what was discussed NO!!!!!, I said the guys all get along, but even when they win they're in the doghouse, I heard him spazzing out when I was in the hallway of a game, then they came out looking like they lossed. He doesn't talk to the players, because I asked him and he admitted that to ME...that wasn't locker room talk, he said that to me in the beginning of the season. So what am I leaking. I'm merely relaying to the board what I know. I knew plenty of times, who was gonna start, why this player wasn't playing etc...I never came on here and revealed that information. I know what should and shouldn't be said and I don't think that my observation of how the coach can get a better handle on the team is news to anyone on here. The coach has my email, my phone, so does the assistants, if they thought I was leaking something, or harming their program I'm sure he would have said something by now. But quite the contrary I talked to the staff after the ECU game and made comments and suggestions. We were walking to our cars. It was a FREAKIN conversation. U're the one making my comments to be negative. I think they're rather insightful and observant being as though, I'm only stating what I see as issues with the team, from my point of view. I don't have to run a LARGE COMPANY to make observations and give my opinions. My words are my words. U still haven't pointed out to me, where did I reveal locker room talk, u didn't even answer my questions from the previous post, that u claim I was angered and emotional (being Reg's sister) which is a crock of bull.
