I went to an NBDL game in Charleston the other night. Crowd was around 100 people. However, you'd be surprised at some of the big names from College ball playing. Brandon Knight, formerly of Pitt, played, albeit terrible. Looked really depressed he was (not) displaying his skills in such of a small crowd. Chris Lang formerly of NC. One of the most impressive players was Rolan Roberts formerly of SIU. He was a load and very quick. How do we miss on some of these guys? Anyways, MP is coming in about two weeks hope to get there again to see him. The players are very accessible, so maybe even a little talk.

For continuing to gripe about the fiasco in Green Bay, i.e. home game for Southern Mississippi vs Marquette. Let's see, how much further could SM be from Hattiesburg, the freaking North Pole? Wonder how many SM fans will be there cheering on their team? Oh, probably nine, the Favre family and some neighbors. Wonder how big the SM alum club is in Green Bay? Oh, probably one. How ticked do you think UB's going to be if we finish one game behind MU and it's because MU wins this road game. What a frigging joke. I'm glad we're leaving CUSA. However, in their defense, they did pass a bylaw that prohibits this in the future. Here's hoping SM finally wins a road game or extends their home winning streak.

Ok,,,ok...no reason to get defensive guys, we're all on the same team. I was trying to make two points in this post. First, we've got to have another threat other than RB. Granted, I'm going on what I hear on the radio, but both Rammer and Earl said last night at the end RB was being held by the shirt, pushed, blocked anything to keep him away from the ball. I'm thinking Green's instructions in the huddle were pretty simple..."don't let 21 get the ball! bang him, he's tired, we'll take our chances at the line." Yes RB can drive, but is he quicker than MP, no. I love RB, thank God he plays for us, I'm just saying let's not lay it all on his shoulders. This may be something UB works on in practice, knowing that other coaches are going put RB in the mosh pit at the end. The other point is the tired factor. We're getting into crunch time now. Yes the seven man rotation has worked, but can it hold up? I think it's too much to ask JF, RB, AD, and CS to average 35/mpg. I know we are not deep but if DC and JJ could give us just 3 min a half it would go far.

Bobby Bowden, what's he 72, sucking up to an eighteen year old kid? How these guys do it is beyond me. Too bad the PD never followed a Mizzery recruit....let's see private jet, seventeen course meal at some bbq joint, trip to the bank to open a checking account, visit the correspondence course center, trip to Q-tips to check out the latest fashions and leave with some new shoes, sneaks, and running suits, trip to Walmart's-"help yourself, baby, your employee discount is 100%!" And then the highlight moment of the trip, Q-tip explaining to the recruits-"You won't have to play hard, because we don't even have to win! Just fire at will!"

IO goes down we are effectively down to six players. And five of those are looking to get the ball to RB. It's too much in a physical league like CUSA. Can you imagine playing UC and UofL, with the pressure they apply, with 7 guys? This is going to be the key to how we finally end up this year. JJ or Clarke or Ian is going to have to provide some relief in the middle 10-15 minutes of each half. Also, who will be the backup go to guy. If we are close at the end, and Rammer and Earl said SMiss did this last night, RB will be harrassed to no end to keep him from the ball. This is probably where the biggest difference, at game's end, between RB and MP. With MP's quickness it didn't matter, he could still find a way. Not sure RB, even though I'd take his shot anyday over MP's, can find that opening. That's not a knock on RB, he's just not as quick as MP. Not many are. Jeez, wouldn't you like to see those two on the floor at game's end? This is why I think we are going to really enjoy the next four or five years so much, especially if Lisch signs on. Polk (quick), Lidell(shot creator), Meyer (good shooter), and Lisch (maybe all of the above). It will make it difficult on the other teams as to who to stop.

It really is amazing when you watch this team underachieve. Q better find the right combo sooner than later or they're going to find themselves missing the NIT. It's got to be frustrating, not that I feel in anyway sorry for Mizzery's faithful, when your program invites an investigation and you still can't win with your ALLEGED ill gotten players. You don't think they'll go after squeaky clean UB as a replacement, do you? Maybe they'll bring 'Zo back to the state of Missouri-not likely.

last night. My oh my, that is a team that just doesn't know how to spell effort. You can smell the talent, but it goes into hibernation. By the way Randy looked decent at PG. Not any wild drives to the hoop. Some nice passes inside. That guy Linas Kleiza(?) is a load. Just imagine if we had him and TF sharing time at the 5. Paulding made one NBA style dash to the hoop and then nothing. Something is very wrong in the state of Columbia. There is just no way a team with that much individual talent can be 6-6. By the way, on TF's last foul, Earl or Rammer said Merritt threw a high volume elbow TF's way which caused him to lose track of Mason. Anyone see this. If true, double bogey on the refs.

The last garbled transmission I could understand was RB scored a layup to tie it at 59all with Diener hanging all over him...Rammer said he all but undressed RB. Then it went to static...how did MU score?
