  1. Just donated with the added note to fire Chris May.
  2. Coach Ford is gone. SLU is hiring a coach that many on this board wanted. Actions taken by people in this thread made national level websites. Multiple articles about AD May's future. Rumors swirling that May is retiring. I'm sure all that had nothing to do with the pressure amped up by posters on this board, podcasts, X posts. I'd like to thank you @DOC for the role you so willingly played. You see, despite your ignorance and inane posts you helped to bump this thread to the top. Thus keeping it active and your constant, ignorant, bad takes became the representation of those against the movement.
  3. I like the article, when you need to have articles like this written you know there's problems/pressure. So it's good. I think, I hope May retires soon. Because I don't think SLU is competitive (cut throat) enough to fire him. So they'll let him retire. Keep the pressure on. SLU AD isn't a cush spot to chill and collect a check. We need results. We need some leadership. We can do better than Chris May.
  4. ISU board melt down. Just silliness. The program, the school belongs, to us the graduates. it doesn't belong to the AD who is not a SLU grad. It doesn't belong to the President, who is not a SLU grad. It doesn't belong to the coach, who is not a SLU grad. It doesn't belong to the players unless they become SLU grads. To expect loyalty and anything other than coach speak is niaviete. It's especially niaviete in 2024. So steel yourselves true Billiken fans if Schertz is successful here he probably moves on and we break the heart of another lesser supported Basketball program when we have to hire again. C'est la vie I'll enjoy the 3 years and hope we hire well again. I'm not a fan of Kentucky or Michigan or UCLA we're somewhere in the middle and I'm at peace with that place.
  5. I'm happy that Norlander wrote an article he's a hardcore respected national CBB writer. Plus I like his and Parrish's podcast. He wouldn't write it unless he had it on his authority it was happening. He and Parrish get direct texts from coaches all over the country. I'm hoping for a formal announcement by tomorrow with presser to follow Tuesday. I gotta enjoy this eclipse being in the best place in the world to view it. Then I'd expect portal activity to go quickly IF his guys are going to follow. Guys like Avila are good in his system and may not work in other systems. Just a sophomore he can get better. Plus they played some tough competition in the NIT, AAC, B12, BE and did well.
  6. F that Knight's Inn 4 Life Schertz Schertz Schertz erry'body!
  7. Gonzaga of the low country for sure
  8. Schertz worked the ref to get that offensive foul called that helped spur the run to tie the game. Pretty exciting stuff watching his team
  9. I got who to call on this one. Wait one
  10. Yeah we could get Bucky. Yes he hasn't worked outside Alabama but money talks. Just saying Brey is a known quantity to our booster base and had success in the mid-west but can he navigate NIL? Why did no one hire Will Wade? So there's some options left. I like our primary best.
  11. We joke about Ahearn but Texas fans have their version too. There's always a vocal minority of fans that want Texas to hire Royal Ivey former Longhorn player and assistant at Houston Rockets. His head coaching experience, South Sudanese National Team.
  12. Let's get his and Romar's mentor, Jim Harrick. Only 85 yo, former National champion with A10 experience
  13. Huggins is done. He's been off the rails lately with issues.
  14. Mike Brey is out there Samford Coach Bucky Colgate coach Langel Moser's seat heated up Morehead St coach Spradlin SDSU coach Interim year of Romar and the Porters?
  15. Except the last decade of SLU BB irrelevance he's great! Good stuff DOC keep regaling us with your wisdom.
  16. Assuming it's Schertz, ISU may promote his lead assistant to the HC spot. That may open up some spots on his staff, there are some interesting former HC's from the area that could be hired. SMS D. Ford, UIC Yaklich, SIUC Mullins. Total spit balling here but the MVC guys Schertz should know and they're in the area. Yaklich, I mention as he's known to be the architect of the last good Michigan (2018) team's defense and thus he was hired away by Shaka Smart to Texas to help with the D. He also worked in the MVC at Ill St. in 2017. That Michigan defense went from KenPom Adj Eff 69 to 2.
  17. @ARon interesting that they project Julian Larry to stay, I guess because he's been there 4 years. He's from Frisco, TX, seems like the kinda guy UNT would snap up or SMU. Guy is solid. Although if he doesn't come to SLU, that bodes well for Medley to stay and be PG. Though maybe he doesn't shoot enough 3PTRs for the offense.
  18. But also great downtown, restaurants, bars, golf, low country style food and beaches. Oh if you're into golf that's good too. Knowing what I know now, I'm happier with Schertz over a guy that seems to want to take it easy.
  19. Looking like we'll be waiting a few more days for an announcement Need the blonde fan in the Larry Bird Jersey to transfer to SLU as well
  20. One of the best things about St. Louis is the colloquial use of the term "Hoosier" in place of red neck or hick. Just hilarious and when I went to SLU, I adopted its usage Usage in a sentence: "These hoosiers are slowing the TSA line down." Variations when referring to multiple hoosiers: [While at 6 Flags] "Look at those hoose-wads." So it really makes me laugh the usage during that NIT interview. Also love The Mad Hoosier from former St. Louis public access television, "World Wide Magazine". You can find them on YouTube fyi.
  21. But what if the 3 point line isn't regulation?
  22. He's a Hoosier but he's not my pal
  23. Hate the player not the game.
