I went to SMU v. Memphis and they had these Dancin' Grannies. They were all over 50 doing a dance team routine. Kinda' entertaining, kinda' sad. I don't know if it would fly at SLU since the Baby Blues name was nixed and we now have the Saintsations.

I too love the on Campus Arena. I'm really sad that I can't make it to the 1st game because I've dreamed about this for a long time. For me it represents a regular college experience. My family is comprised of huge Auburn fans and after a big Auburn football win over Bama' rolling Toomer's Corner my Uncle turned to me and said, "this is what you are missing going to your school." He wanted me to go to Auburn so bad. I chose SLU for academics and because it is a Catholic School eventhough I really love College sports. We don't have football but we do have Soccer and Basketball. Though I am proud of SLU's soccer heritage, Soccer isn't what brings nostalgia to the mind of most college fans (save some in STL). Basketball represents a chance to bring SLU students and alumni together for our school in a public fun way. To have that occur on campus in our own building is special. It is a reason to return to campus to be in touch with the school. It is hope of having a better team because of top notch facilities. Most people don't know SLU but alot of people love the NCAA tournament. Make a deep run into the tournament and you enter the lore of the tournament you enter the conciousness of Sports fans in America. I'm ready for SLU to be good to achieve in the tournament to be known by the average sports fan. I'm so pumped for the day when SLU makes the tournament and I can fly a Billiken Banner on my front porch in Texas and people tell me hey I picked your team on my brackets. Let's have the arena rocking we control the atmosphere and that can impact the team so let's do it right because it has been a long time coming.

I don't think Majerus will be very good at Dodge Ball. Couldn't you guys play something else with him? I approve of these activities as long as there are separate tent cities for male and female students.

Kent St. has a new coach because their old one moved onto TCU, although they did make it to the Dance last year. Detroit also has a new coach. If we can't beat Detroit on the Road then we shouldn't win a road game all year, they were 7-23 last year. You guys can go scout out Kent State on THR they are having an open house at 7PM admission is free. I triple dog dare you to go in and ask Coach Senderhoff about how he is preparing for his marque matchup against the Billikens.

I think they are planning a special Banner Raising ceremony for the first game of the year with special guests raising each of the banners. The special guests will be determined by who has the most posts on the Billiken Board.

Wow! Our players must be really good if Majerus ran off Dustin for them. I'm guessing Cotto would've lit em' up for 50, Kobe style. I don't know all the ins and outs of the story. Perhaps Maguire didn't have the all around game Majerus wants, perhaps he didn't fit the Rick system, perhaps his attitude didn't match with the Rickster. SLU 21-9 Conference Tournament 2-1 NIT 1-1

I didn't see the game and I know Wash U is usually really good but it concnerned me that this game was close. It was posted in this thread that they beat Northwestern so maybe I shouldn't be too concerned by that score. I do like reading that Shimmy is installing a pressure D with alot of traps. I like exciting basketball like that. This new building should have the biggest impact on the Women's team. Hopefully they will be winners soon.

I'm in Texas and took about 25 min to vote at 7 AM this morning. The line was out the door but moved quickly. Just for the education of the Billiken Board in TX we don't have punch ballots like many other states here you actually vote by shooting a hole next to your choice on the ballot with your concealed hand gun. I went through like two clips today shooting all those holes in the ballot. Maybe next time I'll vote straight ticket and conserve ammo.
