Thank you Steve...she found out last week the chemo did not completely work as planned so they are going to start a new drug that does gets commercial time on TV. She's a fighter and her family is hoping this drug will work!

If my wife was not battling Stage 4 Cancer we'd surely head to Orlando to see her TN Vols play on Thursday. Unfortunately, her energy level is not up to the trip now so we'll watch the game on TV.

I agree - this talk of extending makes no sense. The portal does not require a coach to have 4 years left to recruit. Players in the portal are looking at a one year deal anyway. If May extends Ford then I really will be upset and yes I will cut my donations.
Extending Travis Ford at this point in he SLU tenure is lunacy and pure negligence. Most U's reward HC's for positive results. In Okie State's case T Boone bounced Ford after one losing season.

Not quite Knoxville, though, I'm sure.
As a college sports town you're right on...on game days Knoxville is a happening place to be.

You can take the high road, I’ll be calling for Travis Fourth’s head as long as we underachieve. It’s really not at all demanding for a fan base to ask the team to play to its capabilities
It's hilarious that the Travis Ford supporters (I call Lovers) keep forgetting that almost every pre-season National Prediction had SLU as a Top 25 team and sure NCAA Dance Partner. Then they jump all over people on this website who want more from the person who is responsible for coaching this team. So who is to blame for the failure this year if not him? Darn if it's not on him...has to be the players. To that I'd simply say who recruited the players? Some complain about the NET. Well there are other non-power 5 teams making the field this and frankly every year. I'd say grow some and figure out how to be good enough that NET is not a factor to get into the Tourney. In other words beat some good teams for a change, and for Cripes Sake Never lose to SIUE on your home floor with a double digit second half lead!

Teams with a decent shot - I too am pulling for UCLA however I have no connection to Tyga. But I did live in LA and enjoyed some late night fraternizing with the ladies of Westwood from time to time.
I’d like to see VCU lose big to St Mary’s. The A10 sucks this year. A few wins by VCU does absolutely nothing for the A10’s image.
Indiana seems to have a decent path. My sister and bro-in-law went there (along with several friends) so i’lll probably root for them even though I hate the B10.
Would also love to see College of Charleston win a few. A close friend of mine attended and the city is great.
Couldn't agree more with you on the city of Charleston...love it. Down south it is best known as Savannah on steroids!

The A_Bomb...sorry to disappoint but I believe we are all entitled to have our own opinion on the NCAA Tourney games. I believe I gave an honest reason why I like them in the first game. Don't think they are going far this year; however, you can bet your sweet life that they will be in St. Louis trying to pick off any and all of the top rated players from now on. As a SLU fan I will be concerned as everyone on this website should be!

But can that gal make a sandwich?
And Hire a Mens Basketball HC which is her JOB!

Cannot believe I'm saying this but go Tigers...never have rooted for them in Hoops, but their Lady AD appears to have hired a HC who at least appears to know what he is doing. NCAA Tourney in his initial season when no one really thought they had the talent to make it is an impressive start! This SLU fan is rather envious.

If the NET is killing conferences at the A10's level why is the MWC having 4 teams in the tournament for the second year in a row? Over the same time period the A 10 averaged 3.5 bids the MWC averaged 2.8. Since then the MWC has averaged 3 bids and the A 10 has averaged 1.75.
I'm not worried about other leagues I'm worried about SLU and right thinking SLU fans know what the problem is with SLU (hint for those who don't...HC). Fix that problem ASAP...hope the next one is very good then we can think about NCAA Tourney Appearances!!!

I have always loved watching the NCAA Tourney. While I like when SLU gets in the Tourney I can still have rooting interests. Besides UT our obvious rooting interest I always root for the Zags (the successful Jesuit U). Since I went to Augustinian Academy I enjoyed and rooted for Villanova when they were very successful. Agree with the sentiment NCAA Tourney time is like a hoops holiday for people who really enjoy college hoops. I don't get bent out of shape that the P-5 have the most teams and I do get a kick out of it when one of them gets upset by a small school as long as it's not UT.

It was obvious back in December that the A-10 was only going to get one bid this season based on their mediocre showing in November. But that's the problem, why is so much emphasis placed on what are tantamount to "preseason" games played 120 days before the tournament starts? Player rotations used in November, often bear little resemblance to the lineups that coaches use in November. For the league to get only one NCAA bid is insult enough, but to be shut out of the NIT is a joke, especially since one of its member schools made a run to the NIT finals last season by winning 3 consecutive road games against Power 5 teams. Maybe the conference should be split up and every team goes its own way? Maybe your team gets invited to the Big East? It's a large market where the Big East has no presence right now.
When it last expanded the Big East took Xavier and Butler and did not take SLU. With our lack of success under Travis Ford what would make one think now that the Big East is ready to invite SLU into their league? Perhaps some other league would be willing to take the Bills and frankly I do agree it is time to look around as the A-10 looks like it might continue to be a one team NCAA Tourney league and outside of Dayton is not much of a rivalry fit.

Piling on here, I never root for Tennessee because they suck.
Unfortunately, my SLU alma mater sucks a lot more than the Vols have for a number of years in mens hoops.

Don't know Duff Man but have a hunch Frisco Area Billiken would feel Ford is Grawer 4.0 and would hope both he and May got raises and extensions!

Not one A10 team in NIT. I at least thought SVU would get a slot just for the sell out factor. Nope. Not them. Not us. No one. That’s sad for a once proud conference.
Conference started going downhill with the Butler and Xavier exits to the Big East. The pre-season darlings were both SLU and Dayton, and neither had impressive results and VCU left both teams in the rear view mirror. Both Dayton and SLU HC's should be on short leashes!
