  1. In a run and gun All Star game to boot. We will find out in the next four years who was the better recruit Ahearn or Clarke. I'm still giving Coach Soderberg the benefit of the doubt here until proven wrong.
  2. I'd agree with those sentiments and add to the sky is falling posters that we already knew these recruits weren't Mickey D AA's. It was a darn near certainty that Husak was going to be redshirted next year. Let's give Coach Soderberg the benefit of some time to work with all of these bigs and then after some practices, we can see what next season looks like as far as post play is concerned. How about some patience being exercised.
  3. You could get game broadcasts for most of the Bills games last year. However, the $64K question will be...Are they going to be free or will you have to pay for them? Last year, you had to pay for them to get the local Bob Ramsey call of the Bills games.
  4. I think that you and I will agree that the NCAA may be a major stretch for next year. I was thinking that our next NCAA appearance will be in the 04-05 season. However, I'm not willing to categorize any of our bigs until we get a look at them in both practice or game conditions. In the long run, if none of them are better than K. Brown then I'm taking all bets off on my NCAA prediction. While I did like Brown's defense, I go with the notion that he was offense was offensive.
  5. I don't know about anyone else on the board, but I finally broke down and got DSL. My initial reaction for the first week is...WOW!!! It's a heck of a lot faster than that darn AOL that I messed with for too many years. I can whiz through my favorite websites like Billikens.com and have more time to explore new websites. Now if I could just eliminate both annoying Spam and Pop Ads!
  6. I was wondering if you made it down to West Pine to watch practice. If so, I would enjoy your takes on what you saw, as I respect your knowledge of the game as much as anyone on this board.
  7. Isn't that a peculiar happening out of this Conferencegate mess. Oh well, that's a pretty darn sure win for the rest of the league members.
  8. My gut has told me all along that SLU, Marquette, and DePaul are a package deal in any conference reshuffling. What happened with the ACC last night just reinforces my belief.
  9. I have been in favor of the on campus basketball arena from the start. I think that it will be a great addition to what has become a wonderful urban campus setting under the leadership of Fr. Biondi. As far as rock and roll is concerned, I'd much rather have tix to see the Boss at Fenway Park. His concert here in Tampa was last year was great.
  10. If that is true about Eddie Stewart thanks for the update, as I went to Augustinian Academy with Ed and knew him quite well.
  11. T & T, Your point No. 9, you were on the wrong board on that one. It should be directed to the Goobers in Boone County, as they are the ones who would have the old tires in their yard...must have had a brain fart on that one Too!
  12. I suppose that I am a little surprised at all the doom and gloom that I perceive without one freakin practice being run let alone games played. Let's wait until we see what we have before we throw this year's squad under the bus. I'm with David, we've got to trust Brad's talent evaluation, as in a more limited time frame, I don't think that he let us down last year. While he did not recruit Mickey D AA's, and we don't have a top 10 class, let's at least give him and these kids a chance.
  13. T & T, Trust me when I tell you that Rick New Weasel got what he deserved. This guy is the epitome of a slime ball, and it has way more to do with all of his transgressions and they are many than just betting in a NCAA pool. Your comment about Babs Hedges may turn out to be true, as my understanding is the UW Huskies will be hiring a new Pres. If that is the case then Babs will need to watch her backside, as many Pres. like to have their own AD, and UW may wind up to be no different. I'm not ready to give up on this year's Billiken team until I get a chance to see them play some games.
  14. I go along with Thicks on this one. I read what Bernie had to say about us in his Saturday Bits and I did not give it another thought as a shot at SLU. I think some of us need to read things with a little less discerning eyes. I was glad to see that we had this event and I hope that it helps us out on the recruiting front.
  15. Greed! The big boys just may slaw the goose that laid the golden egg if they try and pull this off. If they get their way, then it really won't matter what league our Bill wind up in.
  16. Weber wants Grimes and Lisch to come to the Illini's camp. Well Grimes seems like a longshot for our Bills, but somebody needs to tell Weber hands off of the young Master Lisch.
  17. I used to live in PAC 10 country and if Stanford is recruiting the Meyer kid then IMHO we could do a lot worse if we do end up with him. As previously stated, the Cardinal do not contend for PAC 10 titles year in and year out by recruiting slugs.
  18. With the departure of Mr. Clutch aka M. Perry, the 2003-04 edition of the SLU Bills need someone to assume this role. Hopefully, Reggie does have the game to do it.
  19. If memory serves me right, I think someone had posted that SLU had offered to Luke Meyer. I just don't know the accuracy of some of the info posted.
