Madeline, My 10 month old will be participating in the baby race this year.  Any other posters have their little ones in the race?

Unless there is a great growth spurt, my 6 month old grandson will probably have to miss.  I may try and work with him on the finer points of crawling over the holidays.

Wow. Harry Carey too?!   Again, not surprised and makes sense.

But 2 huge national celebrities and HOF’ers like Buck and Carey -  makes me ask, why no picture of them at Chaifetz?   Then again,  why no pictures anywhere of the long history and tradition of the Bills over the years?  Maybe areas along the sterile walls of Chaifetz and/or on slubillikens.com of:

the Billiken and its evolution over the years?

the players and uniforms over the years?

the different conference affiliations over the years?

the different venues over the years?

Back in the early 50's when I became a Billiken fan, Harry Caray did the away games by ticker tape with simulated crowd noise and made them exciting at least for someone my age.  At least for one season, the broadcast team consisted of Harry Caray, Jack Buck, and Joe Garagiola.

I went to every home game when I was in school in the early 60's, so I did not pay attention to who did the broadcasts, but it is likely that Harry was still involved.  I don't remember Blattner doing the games, so he may have done them after I left St. Louis in 1964.  If he preceded Harry Caray as a Billiken announcer, then it would have had to have been in the late 1940's.

Wife binge watched Sabrina the last couple days.  Said it was fantastic, cross between Harry Potter and Buffy.

Do you mean the original Audrey Hepburn movie?  Probably not, but that was a great movie which my wife loves.

Lunardi gives the auto bid the the team leading the conference. Its dumb but thats Mason right now. Edit I see someone else posted that already

Don't forget, Lunardi is one of the radio announcers for St. Joseph.  He had a first hand view of what Mason did to St. Joe.  That, at least partially, influenced his ranking of Mason.

The Triumph Grill was terrific tonight pre game.....easy in easy out......quick jaunt to the Fets

We used to be happy with the Triumph Grill.  Their prices and service were good.  In recent years, their prices jumped significantly and their service went downhill.  The last time we were there, during last season, the service was so poor, that we had to get everything to go. When we arrived we told them we only had an hour before the game, and we still missed the opening tip off.  One appetizer was delivered, but nothing else for 30 minutes.  We won't go back.

43/25/62....translates into D- / F- / F-...not that different from last year....but this doesn't count....and was this a bad shooting game or was this a preview....we will have to wait and see....

This is a new team...it will take time to gel....My take is that  FT shooting is FT shooting....that needs to get better  or it will cost us in close games. More concerning ...is TOs ...24 way too many...even in an early game ...UMSL was a weak team ....Generally if you give up 20 or more TOs in a D1 game ...you lose.  We won because UMSL had more TOs than we did.

The good....41 Rebs...8 blks....15 stls...all impressive numbers ...yes even for an exb game.

As for shooting ...besides the misses there were some impressive athletic shots.

Bottom line....Team played sloppy mixed with cold shooting....Team needs to gel....Ford has a good history of melding players into a team and reaching their potential.  This is a better team than last year.....Does that mean we will do better?....Depends on how long it takes to come together....

I am working on my preseason forecast now....It should be interesting....

This was not a top A-10 team tonight.  Looked like last year.  I'm hopeful, but????

Using my protractor, (not my slide rule), if Hargrove is 6'8", as declared earlier, than Collins is well over his listed 5'10".  I'd speculate he is 6'2" plus or minus 50%.  He also is a little thicker than I thought he was.  Photos don't lie.

Does that mean he is between 3'1" and 9'3"?  Significant margin of error?  I'll take that bet.

Bernie is full of hate, and not the least bit objective. I quit listening to him a year ago, his show is nothing but a 24/7 Matheny hate fest. He obviously has a vendetta against him and is incapable of being objective. Henry is right, the lineup is crap. I’m ambivalent about Mike as a manager. I think their importance is highly overrated anyway. The great Herzog didn’t do well when the talent was poor either. Bernie comes off as a bitter old man, who by the ways has no interest in our Billikens.

I think this pretty well sums up my feelings as well.  Bernie ranks right there with Slaten, in my opinion, as people I will never listen to again.  Why waste my time on hate disguised as sports journalism.  As stated in another post, the observation about Bernie and Majerus being buddies, related to food and the fact that Majerus was a national icon.  It had nothing to do with local sports.

He knows the difference between and a retweet.

Over the years he shown himself to be pretty adept at twitter for someone supposedly in his 70's.  I am not buying that he has in the past month become confused with how twitter works.

You obviously don't understand how old age works.😉

Weird, the announcers kept referencing us going for our first win in the NCAA Tournament in program history (maybe it was under Hendrickson like you said). It didn't sound right to me and I see we made the College World Series in 1965. Joining the A-10 has certainly been kind to the program.

The announcers said that the Bills had never won a regional game.  Back in the 60's they had district games, not regional games.  SLU beat Missouri in their district to go to the World Series.
