  1. Replay showed two missed calls .. instead of giving Conger his fourth, they gave it wrongly to the seven footer. Then, instead of nailing Simmons with his fourth, they shifted it to Johnson who did nothing. Hmmmm. The Bona announcers are not as bad as the Dukes were.
  2. Yeah .. thanks busted, got that from kitty. High IQ my ass. Got to wonder where thehell Mitchell is today tho.
  3. Obviously offensive fouls are not the same at both ends of the court.
  4. Let's be careful with Mitchell #24. He ruled against Temple.
  5. Watched a brutal Charlotte/GeeDub game. Both are horrible and the home court gave the Colonials an 82 to 54 win. I know that's too much for a home court advantage but Braswell fouled out with 8 to go and Clayton had 4 at the same time. Neither team is "skilled" but GeeDub sends nine or ten bruisers at you. Gonna be another tough one at the Smith Center but we should roll Charlotte at our place. Dayton up 30 to 24 over Duquesne at half in Dayton.
  6. Up 38 to 23 at half and Mitchell has no points, one assist, one rebound an done turnover. C'mon Kwam, help bury these guys.
  7. I like that the Bonnie board doesn't like me or Pistol. Of course, I've been given credit for a quote I didn't make but reading must not be a Bonnie strong point. Let's see if we can keep this up.
  8. 7 - 0 run out of the blocks. Great start.
  9. the cstv...bonnies link over on the media info thread works. No sounds yet, tho.
  10. Big viewing day here out East --- Charlotte @ GeeDub @ 2:00. Bills @ 4:00. Channel surfer at 6:00 between X @ St. Joes and Temple @ Butler. Closing out at 8:00 with la Salle at VCU.
  11. @Pistol ---- answer something for me on Cameron. I know the Crazies do what they do, its always on TV. What do the other folks in attendance do? You know, the folks sitting with Mickey Krzyzewski. The ones in the upper decks as well.
  12. I recall the play and seem to think the three guys were Loe,Mitchell and Ellis --- three vets who all must've thought they had to overcompensate for someone. Who that was, i don't recall. In the Glaze thread, roy talks about defensive rotation. That is a point that should not be lost on anyone given this discussion. Here's another thing -- Duquesne was a "bad" shooting team -- all around. Let them shoot a three and bank on them missing. Instead, three guys all decide to lead by example. And we all know the result. Just another microcosm moment of how much we lost on the bench with that guy gone.
  13. dayton? Dayton? DAYTON? That is one fouked system. Temple beat Syracuse. La Salle beat Butler. St. Joe's beat Notre Dame. Xavier started 4 and 0,Dayton 0 and 3. DAYTON? Is that system done by a SVU alum?
  14. Let's not forget match ups ---- Duquesne was horrid. Glaze was placed in an element where he could perform adequately well. We'll see it this was an aberration come Saturday and further down the schedule.
  15. Playing Glaze and Remekun at the same time is an option ---- providing the other guys on the court are named Magic, Michael and Bird.
  16. Fuok the politically-correct. I especially loved seeing the guy in the "St. Bonaventure Brown Indians" lettetman jacket on the boards in AC last year. I really never want to live long enough to see the "Fighting Sioux" abandon their nickname.
  17. If you are to believe Majerus, and Grandy is a Rodman type, what did Rodman do? One thing-- rebound. A garbage bucket here, another there. H ehad a 14-year NBA carewer where he nealry had twice as many rebounds (11,954) as he had points (6,683). But no matter th eteam he played with, the other four guys were all more preferred offensive optins than Rodman. Detroit --- Laimbeer, Isiah, Vinnie Johnson, Dumars, Dantley, Sally, Aguirre. Then Chicago --- Pippen, Longley, Kerr, Kukoc and that other guy (what was his name?). In other words, a complimentary part, playing a key role. Every team has role players and you can't win without them,. But the big role players have to be there and all purring on all cyclinders. That's not happening. McCall is MIA right now. Evans is in a slump. Loe is inconsistent. Mitchell is just back from injury. Ellis is a yo-yo but not totally consistent. Jett's strength is defense yet that ain't happening based on others' comments and folks scoring like mad. Then it's combinations. You can't put Grandy, Jett, Barnett and Remekun on the floor together. Who would score? If Evans is your rebounder what role does Grandy have? Last night, Grandy was aimlessly (or so it seemed) wandering around the perimeter --- he was a good outlet pass but the problem is we need an interior threat or the semblence of a threat, to keep taller defnders honest so our gunners can gun (although they were wide open last night and couldn't throw a ball in the ocean standing on a pier). in the abov elineup, who's the point? Jett? Not a threat. So you sub in McCall or Mitchell. Who then have to be no tonly the dribble but the scorer as well and then face a likely double team as defenders slough off Grandy, Jett an dRemekun respectively. That's where spacing and precision-like cuts came into play with the Majerus offense. And he was disciplinarian enough to make you do it or else. I don't see that in Crews.
  18. larry72 is right on. Typical high school gym common among northeast schools of this nature. Wouldn't be surprised if Canisuis, Niagara, Binghampton, albany, Iona and other shave similar faciltities. On the flip side, here's my high school gym: http://www.ctideboysbasketball.com/id6.html i think it puts some of these places to shame.
  19. @Pistol ---- sarcasm. Being from PA, I wouldn't drive their Interstates (76, 79, 80 and 81) during any amount of snow based on experience. And as that is the case, I sure as hell ain't getting on any back roads to cut through the northern tier or the Allegheny National Forest. Good luck to you and please let us all know when you return. Wouldn't want to find out through the grapevine that you were eaten by a bear or, worse yet, some hungry Bonnie coeds.
  20. Favored. Harbinger of doom. We are favored, on the road, against a team that just wiped the asses of two supposed creme de la creme A10 teams in their home courts in Philly while we gagged and choked our way through a split with two bottom-feeders. And the Bonnies are hot. Bad timing for us. Call me skeptical. Can't see it but hope to be proved wrong even if it's just to refill kshoe's ammo belt against me. Go Bills. This is a really ugly weekend around the A10. Not only us at Olean, but Rhode Island at Fordham. Ugh 1.0. While trend tells me Fordham at home, Rhodey's game against us skews the binoculars a bit. In a toss up, I'm going with the team that beat us ... Rhode Island. Charlotte at GeeDub --- ugh 2.0. Charlotte proved to me they could win at home by beating X. GeeDub has won two straight on the road (Umass (+) and Rhode Island (not so +) and had Temple in hand at the Smith Center. I'm going GeeDub. Ugh 3.0. Duquesne at Dayton. Cake walk #2 for the Fryers? Of course, Duqesne came in just as bad last year and beat Dayton at home. Double dose? Highly doubt it. Dayton. Temple at Butler. Butler off a loss. Temple not that good. Barely squeaked by Penn at home and lost to the Bonnies. Butler is mad. Is Rotnei Clarke back? Butler. Xavier at St. Joe's. Xavier showed they might be inflated with loss at Charlotte. St. Joe's struggling, losing at home to the Bonnies. Still leaning towards banking on th ehome fires and road woes and going with St. Joe's in this one. La Salle at VCU. Bubble burst. Nice while it lasted. VCU stays unbeaten. Went four and three last night. Took it in the chops on one-point losses by both Butler and Rhode Island. Have VCU over Richmond tonight. What you thinking, Mr. Wiz?
  21. Nope. I looked up Olean on MapQuest and all I got was "middle of nowhere with left ass cheek on left, right ass cheek on right." Plus it seems you can't get there from here (Baltimore). I might have it on Fox Sports Midwest Plus if they run it here --- we get most of the A10 games when played. VCU/Richmond on CBS Sports Net at 7 tonight.
  22. Grandy brought some much-needed energy I guess and his stat line was nice enough. But at times, he was lost on defense. On offense, he is the only Bill no defender rushes to when at the three-point line. That used to be Jett. When Abele covered him, Abele was playing a one-man zone. I really wish he had made two free throws or another basket for that first double-double. He seemd to convert all four baskets from under six feet as willie noted. And I'm on roy's side about Grandy's minutes meaning we aren't that good. And he was not MVP of that game .... Ellis was. H ekept usd in it at the foul line until someone, anyone coul dmake a shot. Did I say three p0oitn shooitign was our strength? Lucky to win any game shooting 14% from three.
