xu95
That is until either BC or Syracuse go to the ACC. xu95
kwyjibo
Most likely Bigger East options is slightly changed: http://www.boston.com/sports/colleges/arti...ing_eagles_way/ Plan 1: BC will likely be offered ACC and accept. Bigger East will then ADD 5 C-USA teams: De Paul, Marquette, S. Florida, Louisville, Cincy (there is a further possibility that they will add C. Florida as a football only member). Plan 2: BC stays (still possible but less likely) and only Marquette, DePaul, Louisville, and Cincy are offered. Note that this is being done because the Bigger East has to keep its BCS position going forward. If you looked at it objectively the performance of the leftover Bigger East football may not be better than the Mountain West or MAC. But it is a cartel not based on play (but power) and the Bigger East has to maintain that illusion of power to keep its annointed (but unearned) position. The BCS will all likely throw the other Non-BCS conferences a bone of more money and at least a remote statistical chance to make a BCS bowl--but the cartel-like control over who is worthy and not will sadly continue. Billiken Law
is whether or not the Big East has or will up the departure fee. It is currently $1 million but I've heard it will be moving up to $10 million to keep the league in tact.
davidnark
There is no way BC will vote to up the exit fee to $10,000,000. If the remaining members vote to up the fee without BC's consent in bad faith (i.e., knowing that it will most likely affect only BC in the near future), then they will face a big lawsuit, which they will likely lose. xu95
There is no way BC, Syracuse, Pitt, or West Virginia vote for it. They all have one foot out the door. For someone to say all the schools have recommited to each other is not factual. They have committed to each other just like Miami committed to them a few years ago. xu95
Schasz
You got that right X, that Big Least is like a house of cards just waiting to see the next one out the door before the whole deck tumbles.
