They have attempted to make contact to John through his high school coach and for some reason they can't get by him. It's very, very easy for a college coach to get a prospect's home address and phone number. College coaches usually get in contact with the prospect, before they contact the coach. I seriously doubt that Brandenburg told SLU he wasn't interested. Even when players aren't interested, it is highly unlikely that they will turn down the interest they are receiving.
