Cowboy Posted December 28, 2005 Share Posted December 28, 2005 what part of the Savvis not being available for SLU so we have to go to FA to play is so underhanded and a conspiracy to get donations for the slu arena?? perhaps I am buying the athletic dept and ub's line when I hear that UB wanted a home game for his young team before they went to Hawaii but Savvis was booked so they went to FA to get a home game. Hawaii had the date, we wanted it over Thanksgiving so the young team can spend some time together early in the season, travel a great distance and not miss much class time. second game, the US Figure Skating Championships are at Savvis for most of Jan, but they are supposed to put a floor down so we can play?? the blues, who at last report still own the bldg, play 1 home game between jan 5 and jan 22, the day after figure skating and before Sesame St. Word has always been that we are down in the pecking order for dates at Savvis behind the Blues (it should be obvious why) and the touring events (Globetrotters, Sesame, Stars on Ice etc). With this being a Winter Olympic year, wait for the NIT to come calling and the parade of figure skaters turning pro or the Blues making up for 3 missed weeks and slu trying to get a date. Back to FA. All of these items converge perfectly to form a conspiracy moulded by the SLU Athletic Dept??? If they were that good the arena would be standing today.
